Awakening.

The process when ones abilities become active, hence the name. People could usually trace what part of society one belongs to by checking their history and bloodline, but it is truly only when one awakens that people could truly judge one's potential.

Awakening only happens during childhood, with the average age being four, It could be early or late for a year or two.

But for Kyle, nothing ever really happened.

But now, as he turned 18, Kyle could feel every strand of muscles in his body throb as the abilities, hidden deep in his veins started to burst forth.

The process of awakening was very painful. Once it takes place, it restarts your entire existence; it alters your instincts.

Special talents, abilities, overpowering strength, magic-a whole new world opens up automatically. And these abilities will only grow stronger with time and practice.

And now, as he felt the rush of adrenaline in his body, there was really only one thing going on in his mind-what the fuck?

Kyle could not even feel the pain anymore as he was completely lost in thought. His abilities, they could only be described as...

...weird and plenty.

"..." Kyle's breaths then started to echo in the cave as his body finally stopped convulsing, His eyes then started to blink several times as he turned his focus back on the monster in front of him.

And as he looked at her face, Kyle blinked several times more. He thought there was dirt blocking his vision at first, but realized this dirt was conveniently shaped into what seemed like a heart.

Five gray hearts floating above the arachne's head, following her even with the slightest of movements.

If Kyle was clear-headed enough to recall the information injected into him just moments ago, then these five hearts were some kind of Affection Meter.

"You.. are tasty."

"Huh.. those are words, yup.." Kyle took in a small gulp as he once again understood the monster's words. It wasn't that the monster could truly speak, no. This is another one of his abilities-Omnispeak.

Suffice it to say, Kyle found the entire situation weird. The arachne was still looking at the thing that was fully. alive between his legs; her tongue, brushing against her lips as her eyes seemed to glimmer for some reason.

"I want it. I want it. Blood, the essence of Eros!"

"Ho," a small gasp then escaped Kyle's mouth as he heard a voice whispering in his ear-no. The voice seemed like it was whispering directly inside his head. Was this. another one of his abilities?

"Eros?" Kyle then finally tried to speak with the monster that had him literally by the neck, "Is that.. a name of a god?"

"Oh my.." The arachne's eyes strayed away from Kyle's manbood as she looked him straight in the eyes, ".What a seductive voice you have."

"W--

"Itchy. My neck is itchy."

"..." Kyle could not even utter another word as a voice once again whispered inside his mind. The voice wasn't exactly like the arachne's, but it was similar in a way that he couldn't quite explain.

"Itchy. My neck is itchy."

"Hm.. Kyle squinted his eyes as he looked at the arachne's neck. And then, without really thinking about it any further, he very slowly raised his hand.

The arachne snarled and showed her sharp tecth again as she saw Kyle's hand mowing toward her neck.

"It's okay." Kyle gently whispered as he looked the arachne in the eyes; his words, gently fowing through her ears. And to Kyle's surprise, the arachne let her guard down, allowing him to touch her neck.

And then, with another gulp. Kyle started gently scratching the arachne's neck.

And as soon as he did so, the arachne's entire body jolted. Her large round bosoms, bouncing wildly-and as Kyle's thing was still alive and well for some reason, her bosoms started lightly slapping it. The arachne's sharp legs then started tapping the ground, causing several snaps to click in the air.

And very soon, the Arachne's pale face started to redden; her sharp teeth, now biting her lower lip as her body shivered.

"Ha.. ah," the Arachne's quiet moans started to whisper in the air as Kyle continued to scratch her neck; the blood that was still inside her mouth, dripping down her chin and dropping onto her jiggling bosoms.

Kyle didn't really know what to feel right now as his... thick and long sword was currently sliding in between the arachne's jiggling bosoms, and with the thick mixture of his own blood and her saliva dripping around it, It felt..

..Wrong.

Why was it even fully standing in the first place? Did Kyle have some sort of... fetish he wasn't aware of? Fortunately, or unfortunately for Kyle, the arachne's arms started to get weak. Her grip oosened, dropping Kyle straight to the ground.

Ridiculous. This is ridiculous-Kyle thought. He was supposed to die here today, but now that he awakened his abilities, the will to live was very slowly coming back to him.

But how? How exactly was he going to escape from a monster that moves faster than his eyes could keep up? It wasnt like the abilities gifted to him gave him newfound strength to escape, no—they were just... weird.

Kyle then turned to look at the arachne's face again.

..only to see that one of the gray hearts floating above her head was now red.

"Itchy. My back is... itchy."

And once again, as another voice whispered inside his head-he finally recalled what sort of ability it was.

Desire.

The ability to know the current and immediate desires of people, or in this case, a monster. Affection Meter and Desires. Is the blood running through his veins truly from a god or a gigolo?

"..." Kyle focused his attention back to the arachne's Affection Meter. If he was able to turn all the hearts into red.

...What exactly would happen?

  • Chapter 104: Riftstorm {pt.3}

    Kyle’s POV The plaza had become a graveyard. Smoke and fire churned upward like black storms, the ground littered with both monster and human corpses. The air was thick with dust, blood, and a lingering, unnatural ozone scent. I could feel every survivor’s heartbeat, every flicker of fear and desperation, like waves lapping against the edges of my consciousness. “Katherine! Samantha! Carter!” I bellowed. My voice carried, not just as sound, but as resonance. My powers were growing, adapting. My emotions radiated outward, amplifying speed, strength, and perception. A portal tore open above the plaza. This one wasn’t small it was massive, a jagged gash in reality. From it poured Riftspawn: grotesque, multi-limbed monstrosities with razor sharp appendages and eyes that glowed like molten cores. They hissed, screamed, and leapt toward us as if the Riftmind itself had trained them for this moment. I surged forward, fists glowing with golden energy, faster than thought. My hands col

  • Chapter 103: Riftstorm {pt.2}

    Kyle’s POV The ground shook as another portal tore open behind the plaza, a jagged wound in the sky vomiting forth monstrosities I had never seen before. Cyclops had been terrifying enough but this was something else entirely. Four new creatures emerged: Bonefiends: skeletal, almost translucent, with serrated claws that could slice reinforced steel. Mindreavers: shadowy, semi ethereal beings that crawled along rooftops and infiltrated the minds of the gifted, twisting perception. Fleshgnashers: hulking, quadrupedal beasts with gaping maws lined with jagged teeth. Shardfiends: smaller, swarm type creatures that moved like a coordinated blade through the streets. I felt my heart spike fear, yes, but exhilaration. My powers were stretching further than ever, emotions radiating outward and wrapping the battlefield like a golden shield. I could feel every creature’s intent, every flicker of thought, every shred of predatory instinct. “Katherine! Carter! Samantha! Focus the

  • Chapter 102: Riftstorm {pt.1}

    Kyle’s POV The city groaned beneath the weight of its own destruction. Smoke billowed from collapsed streets, glass shattered in jagged rain, and the night air was thick with the scent of blood. My heart beated violently in my chest, but not just from exertion my senses were alive in ways they never had been before. Emotions rippled through the air like visible waves. Fear, rage, grief, and hope hung above every survivor, flickering above heads like ethereal halos. It was overwhelming and intoxicating. The first portal tore open over the northern sector, jagged and pulsating with a sickly green light. I could feel the energy seeping through my veins before I even saw the abomination emerging. Twelve feet of muscle and bone erupted onto the street: Cyclops, their molten orange eyes scanning for prey. They weren’t alone. Smaller creatures scattered behind them Shardbacks, their jagged spines dripping with acidic liquid, and Voidclaws, sleek, black scaled predators that hissed like s

  • Chapter 101: Fractured Horizons

    The air was thick with smoke, the streets of Thorne Hallow now a smoldering tomb. I hovered over the remnants of a collapsed overpass, surveying the chaos below. Portals had multiplied, tearing jagged holes in the sky like angry wounds, and from each, monsters poured Cyclops, Shardbacks, Rippers, and new abominations I had yet to name. Their numbers were staggering and so was their coordination. But now, I could see patterns, subtle movements, and instincts I hadn’t perceived before. My powers weren’t just growing they were evolving. “Kyle!” Carter shouted from the debris strewn street, her twin blades cutting through a Ripper that had lunged at her from the shadows. She was bloodied, armor dented, but her precision was unmatched. “Portals multiplying! This isn’t sustainable!” I dropped from the overpass, landing with enough force to crack the asphalt. The kinetic shockwave sent monsters sprawling, but more poured in from the swirling portals above. My heart pounded, but I coul
