Chapter 15

Getting to the location Axel gave him - 24 Brandon Street, Jin pulled over in a space at the parking lot which was already filled up with sleek cars but yet his own looks more outstanding in the line.

He stepped down gently and locked the car by   clicking a button on the remote. it gave away a soft beep and the emergency light flashed, catching the attentions of onlookers.

Some stared, probably wondering if Jin actually owned the car because he looks too young to have such a luxury while some admired the beauty of the sleek car.

The building of nexora towered before him with long stairs leading to the entrance of the building. People were moving in and out of the place. The atmosphere was lively.

Jin tugged on his suit and breath out heavily.

“Let's do this.” He said and pressed forward, his loafers bringing forth a dull thud on the ground with each steps.

Stepping inside, Jin's eyes fell on the place. It was more lively and it was designed to the teeth just to fit the opening celebration.

Tables were neatly arranged with white linens laying on them. Resting on the tables were drinks of different kinds. Clinking of glass cups filled the air, mixing with hums and laughter from the guests.

Jin didn't linger around. He roamed his eyes around and his gaze fell on a table with just a lady sipping her drink at the corner.

He tugged on his suit and walked to the seat with hands buried in his pocket.

He towered over the lady and smiled at her politely. The lady forced a smile back, casually sipping her drink from a glass cup.

“Hi.” Jin gave out a gentle smile and took his seat.

He leaned forward and reached out to a bottle of wine on the table but the lady cleared her throat which made Jin paused, lifting his eyes to meet hers.

“Someone has that seat and everything there belongs to him. I'm only allowing you to have the seat till he returns.” She said flatly and took a sip from the glass again.

Jin gave a little smile and leaned back, staring at the lady.

“What's the rule around here?"

The lady rolled her eyes on him looking confused “What do you mean?" 

Jin chuckled. “I mean is there any rule here that says a particular table should be reserved  for someone in particular?”

She tucked her hair behind and scoffed. “And do you know who owns that seat?

 You won't want to know but I'll just give you a quick advice. Leave this table and find another reservation or just walk out of here.” She said with a sharp tone and grabbed the bottle of wine, pouring some in the emptied glass cup.

Jin didn't say any more words. He simply leaned forward and grabbed the bottle of wine to open it but a hand held his wrist and stopped him.

“What do you think you're doing?!"A thick voice came behind, laced with subtle anger.

Jin looked up to see a guy dressed in a navy blue suit staring down at him with a hard expression on his face.

“It's obvious. Do you have any problem with me having a drink?" Jin stared at him.

The guy growled, anger burning in his eyes. “You're  on my seat and this table is secured for just I and my girlfriend so I'm going to ask you to leave.”

The table has three chairs so Jin shrugged and stood up. He  sat on the third chair but the guy scoffed, clearly not pleased.

“You don't get me, do you? I'm going to make myself clear just this last time. I said I don't want to see you around this table. Take another seat elsewhere!” He stated firmly, shoting Jin a glare.

His voice was getting high, attracting the attention of those nearby.

But Jin remain unfazed, returning the glare. “The last time I checked, this is not a private party. It is nexora opening ceremony party and as long as no rules here say you can scoop people from their seat then I'm not standing up here!" He stated firmly, relaxing his back on the seat.

The frown on the man's face deepened. He glanced at his girlfriend who said.

“This guy really wants trouble Dave. You should just show him one and he'll get his stinking body out of here.” She rolled her eyes disgustingly and crossed her leg.

Dave shifted his angry gaze back to him, anger swirling within. He took a step closer, his towering over Jin, his posture challenging but Jin remained unfazed.

“Do you know who you're talking to!!? Stand up now or..

“Or you're going to?" Jin cut him off, challenging him confidently.

Dave tightened his fist. His anger boiled like steam, making his eyeball red like flame.

“Are you..”

A voice from a microphone interrupted him.

“Please everyone have your seat. I hope we all are having fun and getting very entertained? Now it is time to call out the manager of this branch of nexora company.” Axel was the one speaking in the microphone.

The hall fell into silence, allowing his voice to pierce louder in the air and everyone listened.

Dave gritted his teeth and exhaled deeply, warring to suppress his anger.

He glared at Jin with a threatening gaze before taking his seat.

Jin smiled at him 

Axel continued from stage. He glanced at a sheet in his hand, and looked up, roaming his eyes on the guests. He was actually looking for his master, Jin and when his gaze fell on him at the corner, he smiled and his stance changed instantly to a more composed one.

Dave who saw Axel smiling in their direction thought it was meant for him.

“The manager is the person of Dave Clinton.” Axel announced.

The hall echoed with claps from the guests as all eyes fell on Dave who stood up with a smiling face, his shoulder raised and chest puffing with pride as he walked to the front of the crowd.

Jin smiled and shook his head gently “No wonder he's so arrogant.” He muttered.

As the clap die down, Dave's girlfriend spoke up with a voice laced with mockery.

“You have seen who he is. It's better you stand up now or face his wrath.” The pride in her voice was recognized.

Jin laughed softly and leaned back with a calm expression.

 “A common manager? He taunted her with a little laugh. 

The lady gritted her teeth and stood up sharply, pointing a finger at Jin.

“I have had enough of you! I'm going to show you what it is to be the girlfriend of the nexora company!”

She threatened and charged forward, her heels clicking behind, indicating anger.
