The moment the announcement ended, the entire dojo sprang into action.

The relaxed atmosphere from only a few minutes ago vanished without a trace.

Instructors barked orders as disciples rushed toward the armoury, while vehicles stationed throughout the compound roared to life one after another.

Ryuu turned toward Elder Takemura.

"Master."

The old man nodded once.

"Go."

"There is no need to wait for orders."

Ryuu immediately looked toward Micheal.

"Come with us."

  • 183. ONE YEAR.

The Platinum demon took another step toward Micheal. The shattered street groaned beneath its weight as countless smaller demons continued pouring out of the cracks surrounding the city. Every passing second made the battlefield more chaotic. Missiles streaked across the night sky, helicopters circled overhead, and the sound of collapsing buildings mixed with the desperate cries of civilians still trapped beneath the rubble.Micheal tightened his grip on his sword. He had fought many difficult battles inside Elyria, but this was different.Every mistake here carried a real price. There was no resurrection. No second chance. The Platinum demon slowly raised its hand. Before it could move...A voice drifted calmly across the battlefield."That's enough." The voice wasn't loud.Yet somehow...Everyone heard it.The Platinum demon froze.Ryuu stopped in the middle of his swing.Even the roaring monsters instinctively turned toward the same direction.Nathan stood quietly on the roof of a d

  • 182. BATTLE ON EARTH.

The smile on the demon's face had barely faded when the street beneath everyone's feet exploded.BOOM!Chunks of asphalt were hurled dozens of metres into the air as one crack became ten, then a hundred, spreading through the entire intersection like a spider's web.The earth shook violently. And then a series of explosions followed. Sewer covers shot into the sky, smashing through windows and crashing into nearby buildings.A deep growl echoed from below, it wasn't one voice. It was hundreds. The next moment, black claws burst through the fractured streets. One after another, creatures began climbing out of the darkness beneath the city. Some resembled enormous wolves covered in black scales, others walked on two legs with crimson skin and curved horns.Several had four arms, each ending in razor-sharp claws.Their eyes glowed with the same cold golden light.Nobody even dared to move. Even the soldiers who had arrived with heavy weapons could only stare. This wasn't an attack. It

The moment the announcement ended, the entire dojo sprang into action. The relaxed atmosphere from only a few minutes ago vanished without a trace.Instructors barked orders as disciples rushed toward the armoury, while vehicles stationed throughout the compound roared to life one after another.Ryuu turned toward Elder Takemura."Master."The old man nodded once."Go.""There is no need to wait for orders."Ryuu immediately looked toward Micheal."Come with us."Without wasting another second, the two groups rushed out of the dojo.Several military helicopters were already circling above the mountains.Searchlights swept across the forests as sirens echoed from every direction. As Micheal and the others descended the mountain road, the further they travelled, the stranger everything became.Hundreds of civilians were running in the opposite direction.Parents carried frightened children in their arms and cars had been abandoned across the streets after traffic came to a complete stan

  • 180. UNDER ATTACK.

The atmosphere in the valley gradually relaxed after the duel. The tension that had gripped everyone only moments earlier disappeared, replaced by laughter and lively conversations as both groups gathered together.Ryuu sheathed his sword before walking over to Micheal once more."You were right."Micheal looked at him curiously."About what?"Ryuu smiled."I should have challenged you from the beginning."Micheal chuckled."I don't think Dinna would have appreciated hearing that."Ryuu glanced at Dinna, who merely folded her arms and looked away."I still lost to her.""So my words don't change that."The two exchanged a smile before Elder Takemura stepped forward."Enough standing around.""The kitchen has already prepared dinner.""You are our guests.""It would shame this dojo if we allowed you to leave hungry."Gina's eyes immediately lit up."I like this elder already.""I was wondering when someone would mention food." Alex laughed.Aina bumped Micheal with her shoulder."See?"

  • 179. NARROW WIN.

The ringing of steel echoed across the valley.Neither Micheal nor Ryuu took a single step back after their first collision.Instead, both swords slid away from one another before returning almost instantly.Clang!Another collision sent sparks dancing through the air.Ryuu's black blade glided toward Micheal's shoulder without the slightest wasted movement.Micheal met it with his golden sword, twisting his wrist at the exact moment the blades connected. The force was redirected rather than stopped, allowing him to slip to Ryuu's side and slash toward his ribs.Ryuu calmly rotated his body. The golden blade passed inches from his clothes. Before Micheal could continue his attack, Ryuu's elbow shot toward his jaw.Micheal ducked beneath it and answered with a low kick.Ryuu hopped backward. The two separated for the first time.Neither of them had landed a hit.Ryuu's eyes showed a trace of surprise."You don't fight like someone who learned with a sword."Micheal smiled."I didn't."

  • 178. CHALLENGED

The valley remained completely silent.Ryuu's gaze rested on Micheal."If someone capable of defeating me is willing to call you her Guild Leader..."He slowly lowered his sword before smiling."...then I have no choice but to see your strength for myself."Every member of Green Winners instinctively looked toward Micheal.Even Dinna turned her head slightly. The challenge had finally come.Micheal smiled helplessly before shaking his head."I had a feeling this was where everything was heading."He took a step forward."I accept."Just as he was about to enter the arena, an old voice drifted across the valley."I thought I would arrive before the fighting ended."Everyone turned simultaneously. An elderly man slowly walked down the stone pathway leading into the mountain valley. His long silver hair rested neatly behind his shoulders, and although he looked well past seventy years old, every step he took was steady and unhurried. He wore an ordinary grey kimono with a black scabbard
