Chapter 238: Behind The Scene
Ryan closed the footage and opened Anna’s interview. He watched her listen carefully to Jillianna’s questions and pause before answering. When she encountered a difficult question, she did not try to hide her uncertainty. She took a moment to think and then explained how she would approach the problem. It wasn't flattery, but it was a genuine one. Ryan closed the recording and picked up his telephone and contacted the recruitment department. He instructed them to preserve the relevant interview records and ensure that any complaint was handled through the proper channels. He made no special request to protect Jillianna from scrutiny, as she did not need that. Kelly was still in the waiting room when her phone vibrated inside her handbag. She retrieved it and glanced at the unfamiliar number on the screen. For a moment, she considered allowing the call to ring. She had received enough unexpected calls from sales representatives to become cautious about answering unknown numbers
Chapter 237: Final Report
“He answered most of the technical questions well, but his response to a question about conflicting instructions concerned me. He placed more emphasis on satisfying the person giving the instruction than on checking whether it complied with company procedure.”Ryan glanced through the notes. “So you believe Kelly is the better long-term choice?"“Yes, sir.”He studied her for a moment before returning his attention to the folder. “Did anyone attempt to influence your decision?”Several faces ran through her mind, especially her stepbrother. “Several candidates mentioned their connections. One was particularly confident that his relationships with senior people would secure the position.”“Did that affect your assessment?” He asked.“No. I evaluated his responses and qualifications like everyone else’s.”Ryan’s expression remained unreadable. “Good,” he muttered between the line.Jillianna relaxed, but only for a moment. Ryan placed the recommendation sheet on the desk. “I also receive
Chapter 236: Waiting Room
“Not particularly. I was prepared, and not to forget that my uncle has assured me the position was mine,” a girl giggled.“You’re fortunate. I nearly lost my train of thought when she asked me about confidentiality,” the other voice muttered.“What did you say?”“That I would never disclose confidential information without authorisation.""Well, that sounds reasonable.”A few seats away, a candidate checked his phone again. “Has anyone heard anything from the recruitment department?”A woman sighed. "No, and repeatedly checking your phone won’t make them decide faster.”“I’m not checking because I’m impatient. I just want to know whether I should keep waiting.”“We’re all waiting.”He looked away, apparently unwilling to continue the conversation.Near the windows, however, Daniel appeared entirely unconcerned. The well-dressed young man sat with his back against the chair, scrolling through his phone with the confidence of someone who believed the outcome had already been settled.“I
Chapter 235: Over
By the time the final candidate stepped out of the interview room, the afternoon sun had begun to fade behind the towering buildings surrounding Archer Corporation.Jillianna, sitting behind the desk, stared at the final application in her hands. The interview room had finally fallen silent, but the day’s events continued to replay in her mind.Twenty-eight candidates had walked through that door, with each carrying their own ambitions, qualifications, and expectations. Some had even demonstrated genuine potential, while others had relied heavily on polished résumés and mundane answers. The image of one candidate who had attempted to turn the interview into a discussion about the influential people she knew slipped in, and she admits that none of those encounters had been as exhausting as the one involving George.Jillianna’s fingers curled around the edge of the application before she let out a short sigh. She could still picture her stepbrother standing, looking at her as though h
Chapter 234: Judge Interview Ends
“No but i have other candidates scheduled, and I can’t extend one appointment indefinitely,” Julianna answered, rooting to her words. George slowly rose from his chair. “You can’t be serious, Jillianna, do you kno what mother will do to you if she finds out why you did?” He grin shaking his head. In the past that statement would have made Jillianna caved in but now it didn’t rather her composure remained intact. “I’m sorry the interview hasn’t gone as you expected, but the schedule has to be maintained.” He stared at her, his embarrassment gradually giving way to anger. “You’ve got to be kidding me. You haven’t even given me a chance.” “I gave you the opportunity to proceed with the interview. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to complete it within the allocated time.” “Because you spent the entire time making this personal!” Judge spat. Jillianna straightened the papers before her. “I understand that you’re unhappy with the outcome. If you believe the process was unfair, you may s
Chapter 233: Limited Time
George remained standing in front of the desk, his eyes moving between Jillianna and the chair opposite her. “You cannot be serious,” he almost whisper as if his brain is refusing to have in into the reality playing infront of him. Jillianna glanced at the time on her computer before looking back at him. “I’m afraid I am, the time on this interview is limited so Please take your seat so we can begin.” He gave a short laugh shaking his head and looked away, as though he needed a moment to process the absurdity of the situation. When he looked at her again, his expression had changed. If anyone one would have told him Jillianna would be involved in the company somehow, and he would find her sitting at the head of the interview table, he would have laugh to his heart content. But this is’nt a dream and he is indeed standing infront of her so she can evaluate him if indeed he can demonstrate his qualifications, and secure a position. The fact that he had never considered his equal ma
