Chapter: Battling A Cythraul (2)
"You talk too much." Adam spat out vehemently. For Adam, who liked to yap even in dangerous situations, to say such a thing, then he was really serious and somewhat pissed off by the Cythraul.Dodon was taken aback by this, but then laughed uproariously. He laughed loudly for a few seconds, then suddenly stopped."Where's the fun in it if my prey dies too quickly?" He questioned. "I talk this much becau...""Because you're just ten years old." Shian's voice came from behind them. "Only a child would take a situation like this with levity. If you really knew how much danger your life was in, I doubt you'll be talking and laughing this much." Dodon's face went blank for a moment, before he seemed to regain his composure."...how did you know my age?" He asked flatly."It seems I was right. Tell you what, I just took a guess, and your idiot self proved me right. Hmph, just as expected from a child." Shian snorted in disdain.Dodon let out a laugh forcefully, and his dark aura intensifi

Chapter: Origins
"What... happened?" Shian asked as he grabbed his throbbing head.He looked around, confused, until he regained his bearings and remembered what had happened, though he didn't know why what happened, happened. He sent Alucard a glance, and saw him standing to the side... with a frown. What had caused Alucard to frown? There were only two times Shian had seen him show any another expression, except an unnerving smile which he always had, on his face. The first time was when Adam pestered him on their first day in the dormitory, and the second was when he fought the beast horde in the Myriad Scapes Dungeon. Then, Alucard had showed another expression due to some reasons unknown to him. All in all, the only time he wasn't smiling, was either when the situation was too serious to joke with, or... he was just not in the mood. Shian tilted his head to the side and raised a brow. "Why am I on the floor?"Alucard almost seemed to choke on his saliva after hearing that odd question. Why was

Chapter: Adaptability
Shian rested peacefully that night, somewhat, and woke up full of vital energy flowing through him. He took care of himself in the bathroom, emptied his bowels, and did all the stuffs boys did, before walking out of his room in his clean black ACU. He had woken up early today, and got out before anyone else to have some free time. Though what he didn't expect was for Alucard to be waiting for him by the door, in the hallway. Alucard turned his head and smiled at him as he walked out, and without giving him the chance to voice out his shock, gestured for him to follow. Shian closed his mouth and moved after Alucard, catching up to him with large strides."How long have you been awake?" Shian asked after a few seconds of silence."Demons of my level don't need much sleep." Alucard simply replied without pausing in his steps. "I've been awake since yesterday."Shian stared at him weirdly but didn't say anything. He just kept on following for a few minutes, until they got to a buildin

Chapter: Griffinblade
Unknown to Alucard, his Ability had caused the defence of one of the Second Years, whose fort was defending, to crumble into dust, a never seen before scene. Though he had accomplished this easily by sending out a ball of Pulverizing Death Charge, they hadn't escaped easily. They all crashed on the ground simultaneously and coughed up mouthfuls of blood. It seemed like one of the seniors had an invisible attack, or an attack that was just so fast it escaped their vision. Shian, Adam and Alucard had it worse, they were the closest to the attack and hadn't even seen what happened before their danger sense tingled and they shot back, still, they suffered injuries. "Shit!" Adam cursed as blood pooled beneath him. And Ironically, Shian, Adam and Alucard who were the closest were the ones who recovered fastest. Their Vampiric Genes gave them healing traits, though not as strong as one would expect, but still fast enough for them to recover faster than their peers. Alucard stood, dusted h

Chapter: Destruction Flames
Nux could see several Red/Black Runes floating around the his right arm. They moved in accordance to his arms movement, as if they were attached to it in someway. It should be known that Nux and the Shark King were both standing with their hands raised up. One was pushing and the other was pulling, and because of this, Nux hadn't seen his arm in time and didn't notice those Runes until now. 'Those are definitely Flames, I'm sure of it!' Nux claimed. 'But what Variant are they?'Nux's mind spun, and his thoughts flowed from one point to another. He thought back to how he had gotten the Arm Of Finality to actually be his arm. Natalie had explained to him that his body was filled with a red fog, and was deconstructed, before being rebuilt. He thought back to how his shirts were destroyed when he tried to put them on, and he thought back to the Apostle of Destruction's rusty Red armor. 'Are they perhaps, Variant Destruction/Fire Runes?' As soon as Nux had this thoughts, the Runes arou

Chapter: Rune Variants
Nux slid between the Shark King's leg and popped back up to his feets, then he turned around and kicked at the spot behind it's knees with force. Though it might be heavy, sturdy and incredibly strong, weakness were still weakness. The Shark King, the name Nux had decided to call it, buckled from the kick and almost went on its knees, but before that happened, it straightened itself back up like a spring, and smashed the ground behind it's body with it's tailNux weaved out of the way and punched at its knees again, aiming for the same leg. This process repeated itself until Nux felt that his plan was ready. The creature, in it's rage, spat out flames again, and this time, Nux let it hit him. The Shark King seeing Nux fall to his knees got more confident, and it's took heavy steps forward, making sure Nux was at the hottest parts of the flame. 'A little more...' Nux thought, waiting for the Shark King to get closer. Nux's Fire Immunity was passive, so he couldn't turn it off...

Chapter: Shark King
The Shark Queen glowed brightly as the Red and Gold rocks entered her body. The light turned so blinding Nux had to squint his eyes. The phenomenon occuring was one he hadn't seen before, and he therefore didn't know if it was dangerous or not. He considered retreating and reporting his sightings to Master Joe, but something in his mind was telling him to stay, and so he did. The Shark Queen let out a loud noises one last time and suddenly exploded. The explosion wasn't destructive, and the shockwaves, flames and rocks that shot out did little to no damage.Nux stood all through the explosion, only his pants and long black hair ruffling while he stood unmoving. When the explosion was almost over, all the particles, rocks, flames and whatnot that were pushed back by the explosion suddenly paused midair, as if time was stopped, and they began to flow in reverse, going back towards the origin of the explosion. Now Nux was truly intrigued. The fire first condensed to form a humanoid f

Chapter: Kidnapped
Nux stayed shocked for just a second before he acted out, punching out and shooting flames around. The Orange flames lighted up the cave for a second, and he was able to see around, giving Nux a vague idea of where he was. He wasn't a hundred percent sure, but he wasn't in the Beast's belly yet, and he also wasn't in it's mouth. He didn't understand how that was, but all Beasts came with their own unique mutations, quirks and mind-blowing Abilities. Nux, after falling for some seconds, finally landed on a soft squishy part. Goosebumps erupted over his skin as his phobia for soft, wet and squishy things came up. He reigned in the urge to step away from the place he stood on and clenched his fists. His arms lit up with Orange flames, and he raised them up, pointing it around and looking for a clue that could help him escape from the place he was easily, without blowing the Beast up. He noticed, after a while of searching, that the ground was pulsating, further agitating his phobia.

Chapter: Burn
Nux knew that he wasn't fast enough, and the terrain wasn't to his advantage. His opponents were aerial too, further worsening the situation. "Doesn't mean I'll loose though." He acknowledged. He came to a grinding halt and turned around in one smooth motion, he faced his palms towards each other and placed them by his side, close to his hip. Fire began to charge in between them, and as the birds got closer, he compressed the flames that had gathered and threw his palms out, unleashing a beam right at them. Large swathes of them dropped to the ground, dead, but a large number of them remained. Nux didn't slow down after that first move and immediately attacked again. His punched out, and a short burst of flame went out and killed some birds again. The birds were weak individually, and their strength lied in their large Numbers, so each burst of flame took out at least two to three birds. Some seconds later, Nux realised that his efficiency was lacking, and his Mana was draining

Chapter: Vampire Ground Finches
"Now that you've successfully learnt the Spell, I want you to perfect it and be able to apply in battle, so keep casting the Spell until you run out of Mana. In the meantime... Natalie come out!" Master Joe called out. It took a few seconds, but Natalie finally came out shyly, her head lowered, and her hand behind her back. She had been hiding there for quite some time now, and she had been spotted by Master Joe. "Your training would begin now, and I want you to give your all." Master Joe said and went ahead to begin teaching Nux and Natalie from that day onward. Nux was taught some of the Spells he had purchased from the Limitless Sea Academy together with Crazed Arrows, the Spell he had won from Gregory. He was also taught some Techniques that could be used in hand to hand combat, and he easily learnt them.Nux didn't slack off for a second. Though this period was supposed to be a time for him to rest, he didn't neglect his training either. And so time passed, and Nux was able t

Chapter: Calm Before The Storm
A few days later, Merek and Aethan arrived at a wide plain, their eyes set on the massive structure standing alone in the distance. They stood at the edge of a cliff at least a hundred metres tall, but neither looked down to see how close to the cliff’s edge they were. How could they? The massive structure in the distance had taken their attention away. “It never ceases to amaze me,” Merek whispered to himself. He turned to the side to look at Aethan, and he wasn’t surprised to see him also staring ahead too, right at the structure, his eyes widened and his mouth opened subtly. Merek let him take in the beauty of the Eclipse Sect. After all, the building was worthy of such a reaction—and it was also where Aethan’s new life would begin. Just ahead of them, about six hundred metres away, stood a fortress. It had tall walls rounding its entirety—walls so high it rivaled a ten story building—with numerous ballistas and cannons lining some sections of the walls. There were no guards

Chapter: The Rings' Secrets
Merek went on to explain what the ring was and what it did. Turns out the bandit leader was a Solid State First-Circle Sorcerer, and not a Second-Circle Sorcerer like they thought. The Ring of Tidal Resonance was the cause of this. It amplified one's affinity for Water element and increased their control over it; so that's why his spells, though First-Circle, almost felt like Second-Circle. It also explained why Aethan never saw him use his Totembeast. He was quite expectant of it, wanting to see how he fared against a Second-Circle Sorcerer. “Aethan, do you know anything about Artifacts?" Merek suddenly said, snapping Aethan out of his thoughts. "Not much. Why?"Merek paused for a second, seemingly gathering his thoughts. Then he spoke. "An artifact is a powerful tool created by enchanting an equipment.”Aethan raised a brow. “Is that all?" He asked, confused, to which Merek shook his head. “Have you heard of… Primordial Artifacts?”Aethan narrowed his eyes, his mind churning

Chapter: Shadow of The Totembeast
The crimson waves around Aethan began to spiral in a calm, but tension-triggering manner, wrapping around him like a reaper's mantle. The bandit leader was crippled by fear, his pupils constricting into pinholes and his body losing all functions. He didn't even know when he shit his pants and began quivering like he had been dipped in a vat of ice. Cold sweat matted his back, his attempts at pleading for his life failing under Aethan's tight grip on his jaws. Merek watched this from behind, sitting calmly upon Ignaroth without moving a muscle; he couldn't care less if the bandits died. Their job was a risky one anyway, and they had just drawn the short end of the stick. What he was most interested in was the crimson aura revolving around Aethan, as it was a sign of a Totembeast being used. If Merek so wished, he could emanate a fiery aura reminiscent of Ignaroth, and burn opponents weaker than him, or strengthen his attacks with it. Now, seeing this display, he remembered the tal

Chapter: Three Moves
The destructive spheres closed in on Aethan, curving towards him like homing missiles. The deadly intent behind each one was as great as the other, and Aethan could literally see the sneer on the Water Mage’s face. He could make out what he was thinking, but Aethan was unfazed in the face of it all. He still had an arsenal of unused spells, ranging from Common, all the way up to Legendary. If the bandits thought they had him cornered, then they were in for a rude awakening. “Bl'u!" Aethan voiced out a Rune, and his Aether connected with the world, sparking a spell into existence. Gale and Thunder gathered above, morphing into a fierce spherical creation. Then just as quickly as it appeared, the air around it was suddenly compressed, and a strong electromagnetic wave was released from the electrical charges. These two procedures resulted in it creating a powerful suction force that affected the surrounding twenty meters! And the closer one was to the spell, the stronger the pull on

Chapter: Bandits
Aethan landed nimbly on the ground before Ignaroth, shifting his gaze to one of the bandits—who he assumed to be the leader—their eyes locked in a furious exchange, neither looking away nor blinking for a second. The bandit leader tensed upon sensing that Merek was of a higher Circle, but him not moving gave him an idea of what was going on—or at least, what he thought Merek was thinking. He believed that Merek was using them—the bandits—as training for Aethan, thinking that if things went south he could swoop in and save Aethan. However…'Cocky bastard,’ the bandit leader thought, his expression not hinting at his cunning thoughts. ‘He'll be dead before you can even think of moving!’Then suddenly, both exploded into action, erupting with attacks that even took the other bandits off guard.Where was the signal?! Hadn't they all planned the attack together?!— Those were the bandits’ thoughts.Unfortunately, their leader had seen something dangerous, and he didn't believe the newbie

Chapter: The Green Forest
Aethan woke up to the uncomfortable lurching of Ignaroth, looking up just to find the night sky out with millions of stars twinkling in its infinitely wide expanse. He redirected his gaze and found Merek sitting across Ignaroth's back, his eyes focused on the road.Merek turned his head slightly, sending a glance towards Aethan before focusing ahead again."How's your head?" He asked, to which Aethan simply shook his head and sat up properly. He knew his brother was just messing with him, as nothing was wrong with his body—just a little fatigue that more sleep could alleviate."Where are we?" Aethan asked after noticing his surroundings. He looked back, staring at Mt Veyrun, remembering all that had happened within it—the dungeon stages and how he had almost lost his life.Truth be told, the moments where his life was at risk had forced him to tap into a latent potential he didn't know he had. Although the knowledge gained from the first dungeon level had given him the necessary ideas
