Dante stared at the list on his laptop screen. Twenty-three names. Twenty-three people who had conspired to murder his family. Twenty-three people who had covered it up and continued to prosper while he'd been molded into their weapon.
His hand moved to the mouse. He scrolled through each entry. Most were strangers. Shadows from his past. But some he recognized. Agency officials. Military contacts. One name in particular made his blood run cold.
Senator Aldrich.
He was already dead. Dante had killed him on the airstrip. But the others were still alive. Still protected. Still running their operations.
Naomi leaned over his shoulder. "That's a lot of names."
"They're all connected. All part of the same conspiracy." He pointed to the screen. "This one. General Morrison. He was the one who authorized the operation that killed my parents."
"And the others?"
"Supporting roles. Intelligence. Logistics. Cover-ups." Dante closed the laptop. "They all knew. They all participated."
"What are you going to do?"
Dante stood. "I'm going to kill them. Every single one."
Naomi's face went pale. "That's a war, Dante. Not an assassination. You can't kill twenty-three people without starting something."
"I don't care." He walked to the window. "They killed my family. They stole my life. They turned me into a weapon. They deserve to die."
"And after? When they're all dead, what's left?"
Dante turned to face her. "Peace. Maybe. Or nothing. Either way, I don't care."
Naomi shook her head. "That's not who you are. That's not what Gary died for."
"Gary died because he found the truth. Because he tried to stop them. He would want me to finish what he started."
Naomi stepped closer. "Gary would want you to live. To find peace. Not to destroy yourself in a war you can't win."
Dante's jaw tightened. "You don't know what it's like. To have everything taken from you. To have your entire life be a lie."
"I know what it's like to lose people." Her voice was quiet. "I lost my family too. My parents. My brother. They were killed in an operation just like yours. That's why I was so easy to recruit. I was already broken."
Dante stared at her. He'd never known. She'd never told him.
"The network killed your family too?"
"It's what they do." Naomi's eyes glistened. "They take broken people and make them into tools. We're the same, Dante. Both of us. That's why I understand. That's why I'm telling you this path doesn't lead anywhere good."
Dante was silent for a long moment. Then he walked back to the table. He opened the laptop again and stared at the list.
"I can't let them get away with it," he said. "I can't let them win."
"Then we find another way." Naomi sat beside him. "We expose them. We bring them to justice. We make them face the consequences of their actions."
"Justice doesn't exist for people like us. Not in this world."
"Then we make it exist." She grabbed his hand. "We use the evidence. We find the right people. We make them pay."
Dante looked at her. The fire in her eyes was real. The conviction was real.
Maybe she was right. Maybe there was another way.
But he couldn't shake the rage. The need for blood. The need for closure.

He left the motel at midnight. He needed to think. Needed to clear his head.
He walked through the city streets. The darkness was familiar. Comforting. He'd spent so many years in the shadows that they'd become his home.
His phone buzzed. A message from Viktor.
"Your target list. I know some of those names. They're meeting tomorrow. All of them. A conference in the city."
Dante's pulse quickened. "Where?"
"The Grand Hotel. Private ballroom. They're finalizing the network's restructuring."
"How many?"
"Fifteen. Maybe more. I can get you inside."
Dante stared at the message. Fifteen names. Fifteen targets. All in one place.
"This could be an ambush," Dante replied.
"Probably. But it's also your only chance to get them all at once."
Dante's jaw tightened. Viktor was right. This was the opportunity he'd been waiting for.
"Meet me at the motel," he replied. "We'll plan together."
The reply came fast. "I'll be there in an hour."
Dante walked back to the motel. His mind was already working. The layout of the hotel. The security arrangements. The escape routes.
He would need weapons. Backup. A plan.
When he arrived, Viktor was already there. He had a tablet in his hand.
"The ballroom is on the third floor," Viktor said. "Two entrances. One elevator. Staff only. Security will be heavy."
Dante studied the schematic. "Where are the security blind spots?"
Viktor zoomed in on the map. "Kitchen. It connects to the ballroom through a service door. Minimal guards. You could get in through the loading bay."
Dante nodded. "And the exits?"
"Back stairs. Fire escape. Both will be watched. But if you create a distraction, you might be able to get out."
"What kind of distraction?"
Viktor pulled up another image. "There's a gas line in the basement. If you can rupture it, the explosion will draw everyone's attention."
Dante studied the image. "That's dangerous."
"It's effective." Viktor met his eyes. "You're going to kill fifteen people in a crowded hotel. Every option is dangerous."
Dante was silent for a moment. Then he nodded. "Show me the layout."
Viktor spent the next hour walking him through the plan. The entry. The targets. The escape.
Dante memorized every detail. Every angle. Every contingency.
Finally, Viktor closed the tablet. "You're sure about this?"
"I've never been more sure of anything."
Viktor nodded. "Then I'll see you at the hotel. 9 PM."
He left.
Naomi approached from the corner. "You're really going through with this?"
"I have to."
"You don't. You could walk away. Start over. Find a new life."
Dante shook his head. "This is my life. This is all I've ever known. I can't just walk away."
Naomi grabbed his arm. "Then what about us? What about the future? Don't we deserve a chance to find out what comes after all this?"
Dante stared at her. The fear in her eyes was real. The hope was real.
But he couldn't give her what she wanted. He was too far gone. Too broken.
"There is no 'after,'" he said. "Not for me. There's only the next fight. The next target. The next kill."
Naomi's eyes filled with tears. "Then I'll fight with you. Until the end."
Dante pulled free. "No. You're going to stay here. You're going to survive. You're going to find your own peace. That's your mission now."
"Dante—"
"That's an order."
He turned and walked away. He couldn't bear to see her cry.
The hotel loomed ahead. Grand. Opulent. Full of his enemies.
He entered through the loading bay. Moved through the kitchen. Climbed the service stairs.
The ballroom was on the third floor. He could hear voices. Laughter. Glasses clinking.
They were celebrating. Celebrating their survival. Their victory.
Dante pulled out his weapon.
He moved to the service door. Pushed it open.
The ballroom was packed. Men in suits. Women in dresses. The names from his list.
General Morrison was at the front, giving a speech.
Dante raised his weapon.
"Ladies and gentlemen," he said. "The party's over."
The room went silent.
He fired into the ceiling. Screams erupted.
But Dante was already moving. He dropped Morrison. Then the next. Then the next.
Fifteen names. Fifteen targets. One bullet each.
The room was chaos. People running. Screaming. Hiding.
But Dante was relentless. Ruthless. A machine.
When the last body dropped, he lowered his weapon.
The room was silent. The air thick with smoke and blood.
Dante turned and walked out.
The final act was done.
Now he just had to get out alive.

I tried to make things right."Naomi approached. She knelt beside him. "They would be proud of you."Dante looked at her. "You think so?""I know

The Unlikely Alliance
Dante sat in the mountain cabin, staring at the wall. Naomi was asleep in the next room. Viktor was recovering from his wounds. The Shadow Council
The message appeared on Dante's phone at 3:17 AM."Your war is a distraction. The real enemy has always been above you. Meet us at the old courthouse. Come alone. We'll show you the truth."Dante stared at the screen. His hand moved to his weapon out of instinct. He'd been sleeping, but the adrenaline hit him like a shot of cold water.Naomi stirred beside him. "What's wrong?""Someone wants to meet.""Who?""I don't know." He swung his legs off the bed. "But they know where we are. They knew how to reach me."Naomi sat up. Her eyes were sharp, fully awake. "That's not good.""No. It's not."He dressed quickly. Checked his weapons. Naomi grabbed his arm. "Don't go alone.""I have to. They said come alone.""Since when do you follow orders from strangers?"Dante looked at her. The fear in her eyes was real. The love was real. But he needed answers."I'll be careful," he said. "I'll stay in contact."Naomi released his arm. "If you're not back in two hours, I'm coming after you.""I kno
The Reckoning
The safehouse fell silent.Dante's hand rested on his weapon. His eyes were locked on Naomi's face. She was pale. Trembling. But she didn't look away."Three years ago," she began, "I was recruited by the network. Not by choice. They had my family. They threatened to kill them if I didn't cooperate. I was young. Scared. I did what they asked."Dante's jaw tightened. "That's the same story you told me before.""Because it's true. But there's more." She took a shaky breath. "After my family died, I had nothing. No reason to keep working for the network. But I was already in too deep. I knew too much. They would have killed me if I tried to leave.""So you stayed.""I stayed. And I did terrible things. Things I'm not proud of." Her voice cracked. "Then I met you. And I started to see a way out. A way to fight back. To make things right."Dante's hand moved away from his weapon. "Why didn't you tell me this before?""Because I was ashamed. Because I was afraid you'd hate me. Because I was
