Fighting For Control Over Constantine's Body

The figure inside the lightning calamity zone was naturally Constantine, whose body was currently under Ruger's control. Due to the fact that Constantine's body was not yet strong enough to control the power of constellation lightning that he had inherited from Ruger, his senses were constantly being wracked by extreme pain and he was continuously lingering at the border between consciousness and unconsciousness.

The one in control of Constantine's body was Ruger and under his control, he was able to make use of his original powers that now belonged to Constantine to fight against the dooms that wanted to devour him.

Those bolts of lightning that constantly flashed in the sky were a result of Ruger clashing with the dooms using Constantine's body.

With the power of constellation lightning lingering in his body, Constantine's body was going through an extreme process of tempering where it was constantly being destroyed and rebuilt under the protection of his powers. This is the reason why Constantine felt so much pain that he felt like dying.

The more Ruger used his Constantine's body to stimulate his original power, the more damaged the body became, and when it was rebuilt, the stronger it got and the more it was able to handle the power of the constellation lightning.

It was mentioned before that the power of constellation lightning was purely destructive in nature and carried no other auxiliary effects. But after inheriting this power from Ruger's soul, during the year he was in a coma, Constantine's body was gradually adapting to the power of constellation lightning and it developed the necessary affinities to be able to wield this power.

In order words, Constantine's body had already adapted to the most suitable form necessary to control the power of constellation lightning so it wouldn't be destroyed in the process. The problem was that one year was not nearly enough to complete this process and Constantine would have still needed a long time before his body would be ready to handle the power of constellation lightning. that is the reason why he couldn't awaken that power in the first place. It was because it would place too much burden on his body.

Right now, it could be seen that after Ruger forcefully awakened this power, Constantine's body was not strong enough to handle it and it was constantly being destroyed at a cellular level as a result of this.

But this was not completely bad because as a result of it, Constantine's body was also undergoing complete restructuring at a cellular level also and was quickly adapting to the power of constellation lightning. Given more time, Constantine's physique would eventually be reborn as a constellation lightning physique and he would be able to completely control his new powers without any side effects.

Ruger was clearly aware of the changes that were happening to Constantine's body at a cellular level and it had to be said that even he was surprised at the rapid changes that were currently happening.

Even Ruger himself had not expected this to happen. At most he thought that after awakening Constantine's power, his body would be on the verge of destruction and this would naturally weaken Constantine enough and put him on the verge of death. Then, using a portion of his remaining soul power, he would preserve Constantine's last breath, then take his time to wipe out Constantine's will and soul imprint. when all this was done, Ruger would completely inherit Constantine's body and soul. He would have only needed to take some more time to repair the damage done to Constantine's body before he would officially be reborn as a new person.

That was the plan Ruger had thought out. But seeing as Constantine's body was rapidly adapting to this power, Ruger feared that his consciousness would also recover in time and quickly fight him for control of his body.

"No! I can't let that happen..."

"I have to quickly deal with the issue with these creatures and find a safe place where I can attempt to wipe out the kid's will and soul imprint."

"I initially wanted to let you disappear from this world peacefully and without much pain, but since you want to oppose me at every single step, then forgive me for being ruthless, kid. I am determined to have this body for myself... who would have expected that of all the billions of ants I could have chosen to possess in this barren world, I would actually choose the one person that was the most suitable to inherit all of my powers perfectly!"

"It is truly a wonder the way the universe works in mysterious coincidences. But this is good for me too, because it means I won't have to take too long to recover to my peak power after starting all over again."

"Hehe kid, as I said before, you should be grateful to me for possessing you and giving you the opportunity to transcend from your mediocre and mundane life. As long as I have your body and use it to achieve greatness in the universe, it would be the same as you achieving greatness along with me. So rest assured and hand your body over to me... I will make sure that you enjoy more than you ever could in this life alone."

Ruger was thinking to himself as he said all this...

Faintly, he could also sense a kind of resistance from deep within Constantine's subconscious as he instinctively resisted the idea of his body and life being stolen by Ruger.

Sensing this sensation, Ruger smirked mentally as he said, "What, you don't agree... are you bent on fighting me still?"

"Well, unfortunately for you, in your current state, you do not have the strength to fight me at all! As long as I deal with this problem quickly, I can slowly grind away at your consciousness and will and make you disappear forever from this world. I will erase you from all of existence and everything that used to belong to you will belong to me."

"I won't give you the chance to recover and ruin my plans once more, you hear me?" Ruger shouted hysterically.

During the past year that he had been living in Constantine's body, it could be said to be the most embarrassing moment of his 3000 years of life.

This past year had been the lowest Ruger had ever been, and he felt a lot of resentment towards Constantine, the mortal that had stolen his freedom, powers, and everything else that he had. There was no way Ruger was going to allow himself to continue existing in this form that could not even be called living at all.

He would sooner die than allow himself to continue existing in such a pitiful and low manner. Ruger was hellbent on regaining his life back, even if it meant seizing the life of another. He could care less about anybody in the universe but himself, not to mention that it was an insignificant mortal whose life he was going to seize.

Finally, Ruger was about to deal with the current problem that was the dooms who were still attacking him.

As Ruger's eyes stared straight ahead, his gaze pierced through the distance and accurately locked on the figure of the hill-like creature that was far away.

Ruger's actions had already alerted this creature, and it had already made a move to suppress and destroy him. Faced with this creature, even Ruger felt some pressure, and he knew that he couldn't deal with it.

It couldn't be helped as Constantine was currently too weak and the level of power of the constellation lightning he could mobilize was too weak to deal with the creature.

Thinking of his current predicament, Ruger could not help but complain to himself, "This is really the lowest point of my entire life. Even a lower Lifeform like this thinks it can bully me."

"Humph! Vermin... you'd better wait for me. Once I am done taking over this body and regained my power, I will come back to annihilate your entire race and destroy this lowly world of yours."

"Just you wait!"

Ruger cursed and threatened the doom in the distance before he got ready to run away.

That's right, even the all mighty Ruger Whitebrook had to flee in the face of an unbeatable foe and this was the thing that shamed him the most. Thankfully, even if Ruger could not defeat the doom in the distance, he could still run away and there was nothing it could not stop him.

But just as Ruger was about to flee, Constantine's body actually stopped listening to him at that moment and Ruger could feel himself losing control over Constantine's body.

Ruger could feel that Constantine was gradually regaining consciousness and had started to fight with him for control over his body. He wanted to break free from Ruger's control and regain control over his own body once again.

Sensing this, Ruger panicked and hurriedly yelled at Constantine, who was gradually coming back to his senses from the pain.

He said, "Brat, what the hell are you doing now? This is not the time for this, as we are currently still in danger. Do you want to die?"

In response, the only thing Ruger heard was Constantine's loud voice roaring furiously at him.

"Give me back my body, old man!"

"Get the hell out!"

With his forehead covered in a nervous sweat, the leader watched as the rift turned into a black dot in space before finally closing completely. As soon as the rift closed, the leader’s shoulders dropped heavily as he breathed a deep sigh of relief. He suddenly felt weak at this moment as the pressure he was feeling in his heart was liberated, making him feel like he would suddenly collapse on the floor. But his training prevented him from doing so. Without the heavy weight of the rift hanging over his head, the leader could finally relax and breathe easily. Taking a moment to regain his composure, the leader turned to captain Keith and reported. “Sir, the rift had finally been closed.”“Good,” captain Keith responded. He continued, “Station a few men to keep watch here and report anything that happens. We don’t want the rift being opened again from the other side. In a while, this place will be turned into a quarantined zone as we wait for the tech guys to arrive and give this p

  • Back To Earth

The leader hurried to close the rift, which consisted of detonating a set of small special grenades in the small room.On opposite sides of the rift, there were two tall pillar-like objects emitting pulsing light that shine on the dark rift. These two objects were spatial anchors... a kind of stabilizer that was used to maintain an open rift to prevent it from closed prematurely. Like I said before, natural rifts were more stable and could remain open for a very long time without closing. Instead of worrying about keeping a natural rift open, one would worry instead about getting it too close. On the other hand, an artificial rift was difficult to maintain, so stabilizers were needed to keep it open. Human research on space was very slow, and they hadn’t reached the point where they could open and close rifts in other worlds easily. The spatial anchors were a product of genius that had accidentally blossomed to fruition. It was with this anchor technology that the humans were confid

With one last look at Constantine, the leader finally stepped through the rift. In as much as he was reluctant to leave, the leader knew that staying would not help at all. Instead, it would bring more trouble to Constantine.Who told him to be weak and that he couldn’t lend his strength to Constantine? For that matter, whose fault was it that Earth was too weak to fight against the doom? There was nobody to blame, and they could only blame themselves. In any case, it wasn’t like the leader’s troubles were over. Waiting on the other side of the rift was a whole other set of problems that the leader would have to deal with...As soon as the leader came face to face with his superior. This was a man with the body of a giant. Standing at more than two meters tall, with large burly arms like the barrel of a tank, shoulders as broad as vinyl, and a hulking frame that towered over everybody else, dwarfing them in his shadow. This person was the superior officer in charge of the rescue miss

The leader’s face paled terribly when he saw the twenty-meter-tall doom still standing after taking that powerful lightning ball and coming out unfazed. He thought, ‘This is the end!’When the leader thought that he would be flattened, not meat paste in the next moment, his eyes opened wide in fear as he supported Constantine with his body. The leader's eyes were looking forward in a daze as he awaited his inevitable end. But after waiting for a few seconds, nothing happened. Shocked, the leader looked at the twenty-meter-tall doom in the distance, only to see that it was standing still without moving at all. Puzzled, the leader paid attention to it. That was when he noticed something he hadn’t done before. As the twenty-meter-tall doom stood silently in place, its dune-like body seemed to be loosening as sand flowed down to the desert continuously. Seeing this state, a single thought entered the leader’s mind...“It’s injured!”Once this thought entered his mind, the leader was ecs

  • Unfazed

The twenty-meter-tall doom finally revealed itself from underneath the sand. This was the first time the leader was seeing it and it was as shocking as he expected it to be. Figure-wise, the twenty-meter-tall doom was no different from the rest of the dooms. It still had the same dull red skin color that was like rust or dried blood and it possessed the same bloated body. All of these were common features of the creatures known as dooms. Still, compared to the other dooms, there were a few differences between them, the most obvious of which was the twenty-meter height that this menace stood. Another different feature was that, unlike the other dooms that possessed a perfect physical structure, the twenty-meter-tall doom seemed more like a mass of sand packed together in a single cluster. Its body was made up entirely of grains of sand that flowed constantly. The twenty-meter-tall doom was like a giant walking dune, with no fixed physical form except for the overall structure that

  • First Look At The Face Of Terror

Bzzt! Bzzt!A powerful ball of lightning floated inches above Constantine’s head, giving off buzzing sounds of electricity as it hung suspended in the air. A layer of sweat covered Constantine’s face as exhaustion threatened to send him to his knees. Constantine’s arms were like lead, heavy, and it took all of his willpower to keep them upright to support the lightning ball. Hu!Resisting the urge to wipe the sweat from his eyes, Constantine stared dead ahead at the threat coming his way. The lightning ball above him had a diameter of five meters and it had taken almost all his power to condense it. Its power was naturally great, and it carried a shocking mite that was enough to scare a ten-meter-tall doom into retreating. But despite this, Constantine was clear that his lightning ball was not enough to stop the menace that was targeting him. A twenty-meter-tall doom! This should be the strongest doom that any human had ever encountered. Nothing was known about this doom. Probably
