CHAPTER 8

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(ROBERT’S LAB)

Ben was back now and with him were Mark, Mary, Bethany, Kyle, and Ronda. Ronda was working on the computer, and Mark asked, “it’s been a while now and Moza hasn’t shown up, even Nesa isn’t back”

“and I’m thinking Moza went back already and she’s in danger”, Kyle said worriedly, while Mary replies, “I hope that isn’t the case, if it is, then we should start preparing for war”. Ben said, “the battle hasn’t ended… it could be that he’s given up”

.

Bethany replied, “what if he’s still here on earth getting prepared?”

“that’s why we need to find him”, Ronda answered. Mark sighs and said, “alright, I’m gonna look for him everywhere I can”, Mary replies sharply, “I’m coming with you”. Mark retorted back sharply, “no, stay here” Bethany smiles and said, “let her go with you, find him and end this”.

Johnny Tony was with Dr. Elias inside a laboratory, Johnny asked looking worried, “the pills?”. Elias sighs and replied, “oh yes, I have completed some of them, but we just need to test run it on animals first, to see how it reacts”. Johnny smiled, and replied, “good, now we’ll see who’s gonna get in my way… gather my men, I need to speak to them now”

Hero and Miss Awesome were in public and the people were murmuring as they saw them. Hero said to Miss Awesome, “we’ve searched everywhere we can, but Moza isn’t anywhere”. Miss Awesome exhales sharply,

“and he might just come out of nowhere now”

Immediately, they saw Moza up in the sky, coming down speedily; Hero smirks. Moza slowed down and landed slowly; on seeing him, the people moved away. Moza said to Hero, “you were desperately looking for me…”

“yes, and you came here yourself, where have you been?”, Hero asked, while Moza answered, “preparing, somewhere”

Miss Awesome yells, “we’ve come to end this battle, right here, right now”, Moza replied immediately, “good, I’m taking both of your heads to Hulton”.

“not happening”, Hero smirked dismissively.

He instantly shot heat vision from his eyes at Moza, but Moza reacted quickly by shooting heat vision from his eyes which clashed with Hero’s heat vision, Miss Awesome blew Moza backwards, but he was moving forward towards them; each step he took leaving cracks on the ground.

Hero jumped towards Moza and landed a punch on his chest which sent Moza flying backwards and hitting his back on a building. Hero came at him again and was about to punch him once again, but Moza ducks and punched Hero instead with fire in his hand.

Moza sent a blast of fireball at Miss Awesome but she disappeared as the fire hits fog and passed through it; she appeared beside Moza and punched him, and as he tried to hit her back but she ducked and kicked his arm, and again punched him. Miss Awesome said with a smile on her face, “you lose”

Hero picked up Moza and threw him up in the sky, then he also jumped speedily as wind blew; delivering a super punch on Moza while mid-air, pushing him higher into the sky. Hero landed and Moza came down falling on the ground as the ground shook, and a crater was left on the floor.

Hero grabbed Moza’s leg and threw him at a wall angrily, then he yelled, “I’ll put an end to your life now”. Hero blasted Moza with fire, and grabbed Moza’s neck. Moza said as Hero raised him up with one hand, “you can’t… kill me”

Hero was about to shoot heat vision from his eyes, but Moza stabbed him with a knife which pierced through him. It was the same type of black dagger which he brought from Hulton.

Hero let go of him and Moza punched Hero to the ground. Miss Awesome blew Moza backwards, but he boosted towards her and punched her back causing her to fall and roll twice on the floor.

Hero got up again saying as he held on to his stomach, “that won’t be enough to put me down”

Moza flew up and Hero followed, then they flew towards each other; they punched each other so hard, but Moza was thrown backwards falling to the ground, but Hero stood his position. Hero came down speedily and landed on Moza’s back, Moza yells in pain and Hero shot heat vision on Moza’s back; dragged his arms backwards.

Suddenly, a portal appeared right in front of them and through the portal came Nesa and two big guys dressed like Hulton royal guards in black metal armors and helmets. Nesa yelled, “Hero, leave him to us, he will be sentenced on Hulton”

Miss Awesome was up already and she said, “yes, that’s right, you can take him”

“no, I’m gonna kill him now”, Hero grins

.

Nesa replied, “I understand you, but don’t get blood on your hands, hand him over and he’ll be jailed for a while, then killed thereafter, my brother is now king of Hulton, we have won the battle”. Hero sighs and agreed, “fine…”

He dropped Moza’s hands and the two guards walked to him and picked him up from the ground. Nesa said to them, “you can leave, I’m staying here for a while” The two guards left with Moza and the portal disappeared while Miss Awesome said to Nesa, “nice outfit, welcome back” Nesa rushed to hug her while she replied, “yeah, the battle’s over now”.

Hero replied, “yes, it’s over, but for me, another one’s about to begin”

(ROBERT’S LAB)

They were back already and all together and back to casual outfits, Mark was speaking,

“now, Moza’s gone, the city is safe, but we are not safe yet. We’ve protected the city, now we have to protect the ones around us, cause Johnny Tony will try to hurt anyone he can get to”, Mary quickly added, “you’re right, Johnny has to be taken down before he makes his move”

Ben sighs and said, “well, both correct, but for today, let’s just celebrate” Kyle replied with a smile, “nailed it”. Bethany chuckles while Nesa said to them, “I have something to tell you all… I returned to my world, but I came back with something”

“what is that? A gift?”, Kyle asked curiously, but Nesa replied, “no, I came back with superpowers passed down to me by my grandmother”. Ronda asked immediately, “wow… so what are your powers?”

Nesa smiled and replied, “I’ll show you”

She suddenly changed to Hero and they were surprised. Ben exclaimed, “impossible”. Nesa in Mark’s form replied, “well, it doesn’t end there…” she stretched her hand forward for them to see and fire generated from her palm. She transformed again to Mary and blew a book away with wind, and finally she transformed to her true form; Nesa.

“so, you can transform to a person and possess their abilities?”, mark asked. Nesa answered, “yes, but not as strong as them nor as powerful as they are… and it’s only people I’ve seen”

Ronda asked, “so you’re gonna be a superhero here?” Nesa answered “maybe or maybe not, I’m thinking of returning to my world to protect the throne”

“oh really?”, Kyle asked, as his expression showed sadness. Mary replies, “that’d be great, but we’re gonna miss you”. Ben nodded while Nesa replies, “I know, but I’m gonna stay here for a while before I return”.

Mark clears his throat, “okay, as Ben said, now let’s celebrate”, he said as he chuckles, and they all laughed.

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(THE TONY’S COMPANY)

(BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING)

In a large and spacious office sat men and women on chairs; which were next to a long metal table, and they were beside one another. Johnny Tony sat at the head table, alone; he was the leader, they were having a meeting, and Johnny was speaking,

“… Now we should take the big step of making amazing invention, in technology too, but most of all, we all know the creation of Ultrahumans started in Star City; a project which was replicated in other cities like Clifford City… we could be superhumans like Hero, Miss Awesome and so on, all it takes is to replicate the same. And before I do that, I respect the decisions of the board, therefore, we’ll vote, and I will carry out the project to make us superhumans”

A man suddenly replied, “why do we need to be superhumans if Hero is there to protect the city?”. Johnny smirks and answered, “because he’s a man, he has to sleep, if you’re about to be assassinated by a monster and your guards are dead, what would you do? Think about it, he can’t save everyone at a time, we can also hire superhumans who are in hiding and not showing their powers to the world”.

Another man asked, “how and where?”

“I have some already, but you will pay, and more will come, but having our superpowers would be great, what if Hero dies, or goes rogue, then we’ll stop him, think about it men and women, and make your decisions now, it is safe and foolproof, cast your votes, if you agree, click the green button, and if you disagree, click the red one”

Bouncers in the room began to walk towards the men, as they dropped tablet phones right in front of all of them; while they moved back to their former positions. On the screen was a green circle and another circle which was red.

They all began to click whatever they wanted, while Johnny was staring at the screen of his laptop, he smiled sheepishly, he then sighs, “good, majority, thank you all for thinking wisely and making the right decision, I’ll carry out the project and soon, we shall be ultrahumans too”

Barry Tony was in an hotel room with a guy who was standing, Barry said “Scott, what do you think Johnny might be planning?” Scott replied “I don’t know, but if you want me to kill him, just give me the order, that’s what I do best” Barry chuckles and replied “I don’t want you to kill… you should make friends and for now I might not give you any task to complete, the first time I asked you to assassinate a company CEO was in Sar City, remember?” Scott replied “yes, I killed Mr. Benson, the man who teamed up with Dr. Hans to kill J*C’s wife, does J*C even know I did it?” Barry replies “I told him, and soon I might need his help, or he might need my help, but first, Johnny…”

(RONDA’S HOUSE)

Ronda was typing on her computer, when she came across a picture; in it were Johnny Tony when he was younger, with his father, mother and another young guy who looked like him, she was surprised and at the same time confused. She said to herself, “Johnny Tony has a brother?”

She switched on her super suit saying, “power on”, then continued, “who is Johnny Tony’s brother?” The computer voice answered saying, “Barry Tony is Johnny Tony’s older brother”. Ronda asked again sharply, “is he alive? And where has he been?”

“yes, he is alive, and has been living a secluded life, he was the rightful heir to the ownership of the company”. Ronda was amazed, and she finally asked, “alright, thank you, where is he now?”

(JOHNNY TONY’S HOUSE)

Barry Tony came in and sat right in front of Johnny who was having a drink, Barry said to him, “now I’m back, and you didn’t do anything, you failed to choose from my options”.

Johnny scoffs, “yes, because I fear no man, so I have no reason to do as you said”, he replied confidently. Barry chuckles and replied, “alright, I think I should just do what I came here for, to reveal your secrets, I have proof, and I’m safe, you can’t kill me because right now, everything we’ve been saying is being recorded and saved by my men, I’ll give you few more days to think about it, if you don’t do as I said, heroes in this city and beyond will join hands with me to take you down”.

Barry stood up immediately and left, while Dr. Elias came out to Johnny saying, “what will you do now?”. Johnny sighs and replies, “I will take one of the pills, I’ll have a battle with Mark; just to see if he can defeat me in that form”
