Margaret Drake nagged him until Kael Draven stayed three full days at the Drake household. He hadn’t planned to, but sometimes family pressure wins.

Three days later, he was back at the Draven family estate in Emberfall Town.

He never once brought up the Cloudveil Sect business. Weirdly, the Starcloud royal family—no one could say exactly why—had ordered another round of reconstruction in Emberfall Town. The town was changing by the hour; new walls, new markets, new people. It felt like waking up in a different place each morning.

This visit home wasn’t all training. Sure, he refined the Soul Suppression Seal and practiced the Nine‑Needle Apotheosis. But mostly he just stayed with his parents. Ate with them. Talked. It was the small, human things he’d missed.

On the fourth morning, he left.

Outside Thundercloud City, he paused, looked back at the high stone walls, clenched his fists, and told himself quietly, “No one—no matter who they are—can hurt my family.”

Dawn crept over Thunder City, casting pale light over the streets.Outside the inn, Kael Draven stretched, shaking off the stiffness in his muscles. He had barely stepped out when four figures appeared in the distance. Two of them were instantly recognizable—the Third Prince, Brevin Thales, and Tavian Corwyn. The other two? Kael Draven’s senses tingled immediately. Both were First-Rank Heaven Realm warriors. The Thunder Empire was the undisputed ruler of the thirty-two kingdoms. Two First-Rank Heaven Realm warriors were formidable, yes—but in the grand scheme of royal power, they were just pawns.“Kael Draven,” Brevin Thales called, his voice heavy with mockery, “I never imagined you’d leave the Starcloud Guardian Hall. But fine… I’ll make you understand the price of provoking the Third Prince.”Kael Draven didn’t flinch. For warriors like them, discovering his departure had been trivial. Effortless.“I’ll give you one last chance,” Brevin Thales continued, cold and merciless. “Hand o

  • Chapter 89: Departure

The Starcloud Guardian Hall had always been tied to the royal family, a living extension of its power.Lucas Grant and the others had pushed Kael Draven to leave, insisting it was for the Hall’s—and the kingdom’s—own safety. But now… things are different.Sebastian Vance’s open favoritism toward Kael Draven had shifted the balance. Leaving the Hall didn’t protect anyone anymore. If the Thunder royal family and the three major clans came hunting, it wouldn’t just be Kael Draven caught in the crossfire. The Guardian Hall—and even the Starcloud royal family itself—would be pulled into the storm.“Aaron Kane, Deputy Head Grant, listen carefully. I’ve made my choice. No matter what happens, Kael Draven has my full support,” Sebastian Vance declared, firm and unwavering. There was no arguing. The crown prince had spoken. With the king absent, even Lucas Grant and the others were powerless.Kael Draven’s lips curved into a laugh, sudden and sharp. “Brother Vance… having a brother like you ma

Outside the auction house.“Bastard! Stop right there!”“Who are you calling a bastard?”“The bastard is calling you,” Tavian Corwyn snapped, realizing he’d walked straight into a trap. But before he could move, Third Prince Brevin Thales gripped his arm, holding him back.Brevin Thales’s lips twisted into a cold sneer. “Kael Draven… Guardian of the Starcloud Kingdom, a First-Rank Heaven Realm warrior. Tell me… does the Starcloud Kingdom have no one else? They actually let a worthless fool into the Guardian Hall?”Every word dripped with mockery, contempt, and scorn.Neither Brevin Thales nor Tavian Corwyn had bodyguards nearby, yet they didn’t flinch. In Thunder City, their reputations alone carried weight. Even with ten thousand guts, Kael Draven wouldn’t dare act so boldly.“Step aside.”Kael Draven barely spared them a glance. Spoiled brats like these hardly deserved a response. He turned to leave—but, of course, they blocked his path.“Considering the Starcloud Kingdom’s face, I’

  • Chapter 87: Provoking a Prince

“Wait.”The auctioneer froze, a bead of sweat rolling down his temple.Skipping out on payment?Sure, some people try to get something for nothing. But no one dared pull that stunt inside Thunder City’s auction house. And this guy had just gone toe-to-toe with the Third Prince—was he looking for trouble on purpose?“I already said it—I’ll repay the auction house twenty Innate Second-Rank Beast Pills,” Kael Draven said, firm and unwavering.“How dare you! Seize him!”Before the auctioneer even finished speaking, a dozen burly men lunged forward, faces twisted in fury. All eyes locked on Kael Draven. Tavian Corwyn sneered, his voice icy. “So it’s a freeloading weakling. Take him down.”“Don’t kill him,” another growled. “I want to see how many heads he’s got—daring to stir trouble in Thunder City.”Elite warriors from the royal family, the Corwyn family, and the auction house surged forward. Thirty, maybe forty people in total. They moved fast—but their targets fell faster. Cries of pai

Thunder City — the largest auction house. It was massive—two floors, the first one a sprawling hall that could hold at least a thousand people. The place buzzed like a living creature. Hands shot up, voices rang out, and every so often someone shouted a price that made the room flinch. Highest bid won. Simple, ruthless, merciless.Sebastian Vance and Kael Draven drifted through the crowd, glancing at lot after lot. An hour passed. Nothing caught their eyes. Not a single thing. Then the final item appeared.Kael Draven froze. He straightened, his eyes lighting up, a sudden spark that made Sebastian Vance blink. The item on the platform was impossible to miss.“Millennium Thunder Fruit!” he breathed, his voice barely a whisper.Sebastian Vance’s eyebrows shot up. The last item… it was exactly what Kael Draven had been hunting. After all that searching, all that effort… and here it was, almost like fate had dropped it in his lap.“Brother Draven, don’t worry. One strike. That was all it took.Sebastian Vance didn’t hold back. In a single, ruthless motion, both Hundred‑Scattered Heaven Warriors crumpled to the ground.Allen Draven and Ryder Dunmore—spoiled brats through and through—weren’t stupid. Seeing their men fall so easily, their faces paled. Panic seeped into their voices. “A… One‑Line Heaven Warrior!”A One‑Line Heaven Warrior wasn’t just stronger—it was leagues above a Hundred‑Scattered. That wasn’t a fight you took lightly.Without hesitation, they turned to flee. But someone who’d stayed still until now slid through the crowd like a shadow—silent, sudden. Kael Draven. He let out a cold little laugh. “Where do you two think you’re going?”Ahh!Their screams were high-pitched, ridiculous. Kael Draven rolled his eyes. He hadn’t even moved yet, and they were already squealing like pigs. Really?“Let it be, Brother Draven,” Sebastian Vance said, calm now. Killing those two had stirred the blood, but he knew the dangers of pushing it f
