“Yes, that's it. Gentle does it… not too rough so it doesn’t collapse.”

Cale murmured to himself as he tried to delicately control his power. What he was attempting was something new, something he had just thought about in order to deal with his current situation. But due to his lack of control over his power, Cale’s progress was small.

“There, that's right… just like that.”

Cale stood in place, eyes closed in total concentration with nothing happening around him. There was no rift forming in space nor any visible distortion of the surrounding space for that matter, everything was normal. It looked like Cale was not using his powers at all. But what appeared normal to others in Cale’s eyes was a totally different scene entirely.

Cale had inexplicably gained the ability to perceive the structure of space which appeared like giant cosmic model of the entire universe, allowing him to understand how space existed in a nigh cosmic scale.

    As soon as Cale finished speaking, he waved his hand in a flourish, and in the next moment, several figures miraculously appeared before Cale and Selene.Selene was surprised, caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the figures. Her first thought was that somebody had followed them into the rift, but after looking at who they were, Selene quickly recognized them.There were eight figures in total, and each of them was donned in a uniform dark-colored attire that was all too recognizable within the lab, signifying a particular group of people.Smiling, Cale introduced, “Selene, allow me to introduce my new faithful guards.”Selene looked at the faces of the eight guards that were tasked with capturing Cale after the entire incident had started.Including the five that were previously locked in a vicious battle with Cale, there were three more who had been standing guard outside the testing room to prevent anybody from entering and interfering with their duties.     “I didn’t do anything!” Cale quickly denied his involvement in the situation.“I didn’t expect something like this to happen either. I’m as surprised as you are,” he further elaborated.Confused, Selene pondered, “So what is going on here? Where are we, anyway?”Cale didn’t have an answer for this, so he simply shook his head and responded, “You’re the researcher, so you tell me what you think.
