123. Talking About Hometown

Apparently, the ceasefire was real. After Commander Gilbert made the announcement, we were immediately sent home and warned not to do anything that could spark another war during the peaceful period.

Although I could see suspicious expressions on the soldiers' faces, none of them protested against this stipulation. Who would refuse a ceasefire?

"Periodic notifications will be made, so stand by!" exclaimed General Collins.

"Ready!" replied our soldiers.

Afterward, the Wisqi left the headquarters area after taking a photo with the two important people from our side, perhaps as a token. They left without saying a word or putting on a friendly face, I could almost feel that dismissive look still plastered there.

However, never mind. It's good news that I can avoid the responsibility of being Louis' replacement squad leader. I won't be going to the battlefield for that long either! I've dealt with danger and death too many times, I'd like to live a life of leisure for once.
