"Luck?" James Halton smirked. "You see, Mr Blood. Here's one thing about me: I don't believe in luck. You came by the hospital the other day too and you knew exactly what was going to happen to Miss Lyana and just how to prevent it. That is not luck. It is something else. Is there something you don't want to reveal to us?"
It looked like he was getting suspicions now. Adrian couldn't stand there for any more minute. "Mr Blood has gone through so much today trying to save me." Lyana interrupted. "Surely you can discuss this later, James." "Oh I'm sorry, Miss Lyana." He extended his handshake. "We will talk later, Mr Blood. I have to tidy things up here." As he walked away, Lyana apologized for James Halton's crudeness. "Mr Halton has been assigned to protect me since when I was a little girl, it is only natural for him to be a little over defensive." "No problem." Adrian responded, ready to leave. "Wait," she held him back. "My father is hosting a grand dinner tonight in celebration of my miraculous recovery. Every huge personality in the country will be present. It is my desire that you of every other person in this world, should be present as well. Afterall, without you, there would be nothing to celebrate." "Sorry, Miss Rodriguez. But I don't think I will be able to make it." Adrian turned to leave again. The idea of attending a dinner hosted by the Rodriguez family did not excite him, especially since he knew Ricardo Rodriguez would be present. That also meant the presence of Teresa. He wanted nothing to do with those two from now on. But Lyana would not give up yet. "Take this." She slid something into his fingers, a black card. "If you ever change your mind, Adrian, you are a VIP guest at my dinner." With that, she backed away slowly, her face full of hope that he would reconsider. He didn't recall giving his name to her, but he recalled James Halton giving it out loud. A new vehicle waited for her, James Halton himself the driver this time around. They zoomed off into the distance, but Adrian knew she still stole glances. Lyana seemed to be totally into Adrian. It wouldn't be a bad move afterall if he got back at Ricardo by dating his sister. Adrian smirked. Maybe he should attend the party afterall, this would be very interesting. Just that he didn't have a ride, or a luxurious outfit for such occasion. "CONGRATULATIONS, ADRIAN. ANOTHER MISSION COMPLETED. YOUR REWARD IS ON ITS WAY." Adrian gave a nod, realizing he no longer had the ability of a speedster. How would he get home now? Suddenly a bright light flashed into his eyes. A Lamborghini Aventador rode into view as he raised his gaze. It was not just any car but a spectacle made of gold. In front of him, it parked and a man walked out with some paper works. "Mr Blood, here is your car. You just need to sign these papers and it's all done." He dropped off a key with Adrian before turning around to exit. A brand new ride? Adrian's eyes watered in disbelief. He had always imagined himself driving one of these luxuries. He even learnt to drive as a boy in the village back when he was in high school. He learnt from his foster mother's brother who drove a truck. His uncle would make him drive once in a while even though he was below the age. The laws in the village were not so strict as there wasn't many cars on the road, and accidents barely ever happened. "Let's go!" Adrian jumped into the soft machine, rocking it to a start and racing back home. "This is just the first half of your reward, Adrian. The other half is still on the way." What? There was more? Well he was not tired of having them all. He couldn't wait to know what the next thing was. "Head to the Elites Store." The system continued. "You can purchase as many items as you like to, the payments have all been made." The Elites Store was just as it was named. A store for just elites where only the very wealthy were allowed entry. It had all the best and latest designer wears and fashion outfits that a person would desire. Adrian needed to do some shopping if he was going to suprise the Rodriguez family tonight. He pulled over by the super huge store, his ride a perfect blend with the flashiness of the environment. Everyone around marvelled at the beauty of the vehicle and wondered whom the rich owner was. The ladies shopping all paused their activities, waiting expectantly for the door of the car to open. When it did open, Adrian came out calmly and confidently, emitting the aura of a big man, but nobody was impressed. "Who is that dude?" "He doesn't look so special, how come he's the one driving that vehicle?" "I don't think he is the owner. Just some driver flaunting the wealth of his boss." "Well if that's the case, shouldn't we get close to him? Who knows, if we pay him well, we may get to meet his handsome boss!" The ladies giggled among each other and indulged in the thought of their plans. Meanwhile there was another lady who was equally stunned by the extravagance of this unknown individual. From inside the flashy store, Bethany Lawrence admired the Lamborghini made of gold and anticipated to behold the man behind the wheel. But she was equally surprised to see a moderately dressed fellow step out gently. Was he really the owner of that car? If so then why dress so shabbily? Beth didn't care too much. As long as he was rich and he would spend on her, then she could give him a shot. "What are you doing, babe?" That was her boyfriend asking for her. His name was Trevor. He had taken her to this store of Elites this evening to shop for jewelries. Trevor was not a super rich guy but at least he could take care of Beth. Unlike most of her broke former boyfriends who could only afford fake diamonds, Trevor was ready to spend on her even if it meant stealing from his parents like he had done today. "You know I would do anything for you, baby." Trevor put his arms around her waist, reaching into the skin beneath her dress. Yes, Trevor would do anything for her, but he was still leagues below whomever this car belonged to. That was the person Bethany wanted right now. Then Trevor's eyes caught a familiar figure. "Wait... Isn't that Adrian Blood? That punk! What is he doing here?" Trevor was angry, remembering that Adrian still owed him a few dollars. Beth observed the driver of the golden car again, it was really Adrian Blood. She knew him as a pathetic loser at school and one of the poor fellows Trevor liked to step on. How was he ever in control of a car this expensive? Did he become wealthy overnight?

Ricardo Rodriguez was still wondering why he got the red blemish on his face. He did not remember ever getting hurt in anyway, neither did he get into a fight. But if none of those memories came to him, how would he explain this obvious red scar he found on the mirror."This is weird..." He said, observing his face through the reflective wall. Not even a single idea, not even a single memory. It was as though it just came out of nowhere.Ricardo's phone jilted. It was his man, Scorpion."What is it?"Scorpion had a deep rooted voice. "Your father is hell bent on finding that dead body. Right now, we are on the move to that place where his body was dumped. Orders are to search till we get a lead."Ricardo was not suprised at his father's sudden obsession with Han Zimmer's dead body. After all, he met with that old man at the end of the world in camera. Even though he had no idea what it was they said to one another, Ricardo knew it had something to do with this urge to retrieve the bod

"That is enough. Lyana Rodriguez is my guest. You will treat her with respect. Everyone can go back to their duties now." Lyu dispersed the crowd. Even if there was a few grumbles here and there, the kids eventually went back to whatever it was they were doing before Lyana Rodriguez's grand entrance. Yet some kept their gaze on her as they walked away, especially the instigator who had inspired the little kid against her. Till she could not figure out his face as he disappeared into the darkness, his gaze was strictly on her. Then Lyu kept on the move again, beckoning on Lyana to follow him. As she followed, she had a lot of questions to ask. How long had this old man been adopting children into this cave? How does he manage to keep them all fed and alive for so many years? How does he manage to avoid detection by the Raven government. He literally created a village of refugees on these rocks. How come nobody had never stumbled upon it?Did he use some sort of sorcery? Afterall, she s

It was dark when they returned to the cave. The moon barely showed the eyes any signs of an inhabitable presence no matter how hard Lyana Rodriguez forced her gaze in search of one. It looked desolate, it looked empty. This place was nothing but a pile of rocks, devoid of even animal life. Why in the world would this man bring her to a place like this?"Where exactly is this place? Where are we going?" The surroundings had no life. The evening had no soul. The birds flew past with no songs, possibly in haste to escape the void that spread beneath them."Follow me." He said, not uttering another statement. He walked further, then she saw it. It was dark, but it was there. An opening, a crack among the spread of rocks. The closer she got, the bigger it became to her. And the more luminescent it turned out to be. It was suddenly not at a complete loss for life or hope. The light she could trace into the hole suggested that people exist deep within that hole."A cave..."Lyana Rodriguez f

"I know you do not trust me right now, Lyana. But you really can not make the mistake of staying here in this city when there are so many people after you. You need to get away..." The old man said in the terms of a plea, yet Lyana had a feeling that she did not have much choice anyway."What do you know about me?" She asked rather in rhetorics. There was nobody in the world who knew enough about her to tell whether she was making the right decision or not. Perhaps Adrian Blood, then nobody else. Besides, this man claimed to be her mother's friend. What sort of a friend stays hidden for so many years and then turns up at a whim of their own desire like this? That was no true friend. That was only a companion."Please, child. It is not my place to tell you what to do, but allow me to atone for my sins." It was as if he listened to her thoughts, as if he eavesdropped on the conversations of her mind.He placed his hands on her shoulders. As much as she was triggered to shove his old fin

"You have such beautiful eyes, just like your mother..."He stared at her with so many expressions written in his eyes. So many thoughts seemed to cross his mind at the same time. For so many seconds, Lyana Rodriguez was left in confusion of whom this person might be. Then she remembered the tablet. The conversations. Could this be...? No way?"Are you the one? My... real father?"The man's gaze widened. It was as though he never expected that she would be as quick as that to recognize his supposed identity. "What...?""You are the one who spoke to me in that cell and promised to get me out, are you not? You sent this girl to save me, did you not?"The old man stared at the girl. There was nothing that suggested that they were allies or that they worked together. In fact, if anything, there were more like foes who had just crossed paths again.. His expression shifted into anger as the teenager glared back in annoyance."No," he said. "I did not send that thing to you. Why would I sen

The last time Lyana saw this monster, her brain was still submerged under the influence of whatever it was she had been drugged. Seeing him now, resentment surged in her heart, and hate took the place of his memory. Each word he spoke was nothing but disgust in her ears."Come on, my love. There is nowhere to run to now." Luther Astana laughed. His followers slowly diverged, ensuring that Lyana had nowhere to run. They had made a plan to encircle her. What was this? She had just escaped from that dreadful place. Was she going to somewhere else now?"What are you doing?" Lyana asked. "You are still a prisoner, remember?"Luther only sneered. "And so are you, my love. Does that not make us lovers behind bars. Perhaps we were truly meant to be. Anyway, the prison exists no longer. My freedom has been worked out by my father because he still considers me his son. I know it is something that is beyond your reach these days. You see, my family and yours, we are levels apart. My family would
