"Hey babe, get on... or we will be late for our reservation!" Ashen Graves didn't even glance at him as he gestured for Aranya to get into his car.

"Devansh, let's not meet again. I don't want my boyfriend to misunderstand me," Aranya said in a dismissive tone before she moved toward Ashen Graves' car.

"But... how can you even think of getting back with this bastard?!" Devansh's voice quivered, unable to understand why Aranya would go back to a man like Ashen Graves, who could cheat on her without a second thought.

"Devansh, don't force me to slap you. How dare you slander my boyfriend? He already apologized for that mistake, which wasn’t his to begin with. It was that bitch who seduced my boyfriend," Aranya said in a cold tone as she turned back to him, making Devansh look at her with wide eyes.

"You... you—are you seriously going to forgive him with a single apology and believe that this bastard won’t cheat on you again?!" Devansh couldn't believe what he was hearing.

She was letting her ex-boyfriend off with a simple sorry and getting back with him without even considering that he might do it again.

"No, he won’t do it. He promised me, and I already thought about it. He really needs me, which is why I decided to go out with him again!" Aranya shook her head and denied Devansh’s claim that Ashen Graves would betray her again.

"How can you be so foolish to believe this bastard's words?!" Devansh spoke in rage, hearing her idiotic reasoning.

"Slap...!"

A loud slap landed on his cheek, making him dazed for a second before he glanced back at Aranya with a look of disbelief—he couldn't believe she had slapped him for that bastard.

"DON'T you dare insult him! Get lost... you loser!" Aranya said in anger before sitting in the back seat of the car.

"Vroooom...!"

"Wait... Aranya, listen to me...!" Devansh tried to grab the car door handle, but before he could, the car sped away, leaving him standing there with a cracked expression.

"Screeeecch...!"

Before he could react, the car moved back toward him at high speed.

"Crashhh... Ahhh... Thud...!"

He was hit by the car, sending him flying toward a dustbin and landing like a ragdoll.

"4ucking trash... who does he think he is, getting on my nerves?" Ashen Graves gave him a cold look before speeding off again.

"Tsk... how dare he insult Young Master Graves? He deserved it," the fangirls of Young Master Ashen Graves clicked their tongues in disdain as they scolded Devansh.

"Well... let’s go back. The drama is over, girls...!" the dorm manager shouted at the girls watching the scene before they returned to their rooms, discussing how dashing Young Master Graves was and how they felt envious of Aranya Sen.

Nobody paid attention to the broken-hearted Devansh, who lay under the trash cans with a vacant expression on his face, wondering why he was even alive. What kind of life had he lived until now?

Fortunately, he wasn’t seriously injured—the trash in the dumpster had absorbed most of the impact, leaving him with only a slight injury and a dull pain in his stomach where the car had hit him directly.

"Why does nobody respect genuine feelings? Why?" Devansh asked himself again and again, but the only reply was the stinging sensation on his stomach and cheek.

"Do I have to live my whole life as a slave? Why can't I find true love—someone who can respect my feelings?" Devansh mumbled to himself as he walked away, his leg limping slightly.

He left the alley with tears in his eyes, a half-smiling expression stretched across his face like a broken doll.

"Crashhh... Ahhh!"

Not long after leaving, he crashed into someone, making him fall down before he snapped back to reality, hearing a sharp scream.

"Slap!"

"Watch where you’re going, you 4ucking trash...!"

Devansh could only stare blankly at the man who had just slapped him out of nowhere before leaving him lying on the cold street.

"Did I kill someone's family? Is that why I'm being punished like this?" Devansh muttered to himself as he struggled to stand, feeling the sting from his cheek and stomach once more.

"Damn it... Damn it...! This is what I get for being a bootlicker... 4uck...!" Devansh cursed as he threw a used can at the dirty wall—only for the splashing wastewater to hit him back.

"Shit... my damn life!" He cursed again, feeling a deep-seated anger and hatred for his miserable existence.

He walked over to a vending machine and dug into his pocket, searching for any leftover cash—only to find nothing.

"Now, this is all I have left... Hahaha... 4uck my life...!"

He stared at his palm, where a single coin lay, laughing bitterly in extreme sadness before cursing his fate.

With a sigh, he inserted the coin into the machine, took out a drink, and sipped from it. Then, crushing the can in his hand, his eyes burned with newfound resolve.

"I've had enough of boot-licking thots; now, I steer my own tide and crown myself king of the waves."

"Huh... What...!"

Devansh looked at the holographic screen hovering in front of him blankly, wondering if he had finally lost his marbles or if his ancestors had finally taken pity on him.

'Is this my cheat...? Did my ancestors finally decide to grant me something after seeing the pitiful state I’ve been living in and do something good for me?' Devansh thought, silently praying in his heart and giving gratitude to his ancestors.

'But again, what is this cheat... Counter-Love Wealth System...? What does it do... How do I use this...?!'

Devansh started to wonder, trying to poke the screen with his finger but failing to do so, as it passed right through, making it impossible for him to wrap his head around.

"Hey... have you had enough yet, you leech... scoundrel?"

Just then, a shrill voice of a girl brought him back to his senses. He looked at her pretty but angry face in a daze before hurriedly moving to the side.

"Splashhh...!"

"Hey... Kiran, you better have something serious after disturbing my sweet time here, otherwise I am gonna block you!" Devansh said in a slightly angry tone as he picked up her call."Devansh... sob... sob... I am sorry to disturb you but... but, I think I got kidnapped...!" Kiran's trembling voice came from the call between her sobbing."What... wait... wait, calm down, don't cry... just tell me first where you are." Devansh was wide awake, feeling the coldness returning to his body as he asked in a gentle tone, trying to calm her down."I... I don't know. I am inside a room where I can't see anything. My hands and legs are tied up." Kiran replied with a trembling tone, her voice cracking as if barely holding herself together in fear."Don't hang up, keep the phone safe, make sure no one finds out about it. Just try to remember the last place you were before you got kidnapped." Devansh asked, his heartbeat rising. He hurriedly stood up from the bed and straightened his clothes in a r

  • 47. Getting Cockblocked

By the time he arrived back at Mira's residence, it was already quite late."Hmmn... she is still up at this time. Was she waiting for me?" Devansh looked at the lights that were on, and a warm current surged through his body, melting the tiredness away."Knock... knock...!" "Hey, Anaya. I am home." Devansh felt a strange giddiness rise in his chest as he gently knocked at the door."Click...!"Right after, the door immediately opened, and a familiar warmth enveloped him in a tight embrace."Hey, were you waiting for me?" Devansh whispered gently, hugging her back with a smile before scooping her up in a princess carry, walking into the living room, and settling down with her in his lap on the couch."Mmnn, I was waiting for you." Anaya mumbled in a quiet tone, her voice soft and affectionate, still not letting go of his embrace, as if afraid he might disappear again."Alright... alright, next time I will make sure to arrive on time." He softly caressed her silky hair, his fingers m

  • 46. Old Officer Bery Lynn

"Yes, there is but...!" Old man nodded after looking at Devansh’s earnest expression, his gaze lingering for a second."What... I can handle it, whatever they need I will provide it." Devansh patted his chest, assuring that he will handle whatever they might need to do."There are two things. First, you need to provide solid evidences which can confirm the identity of the Boss of the North District Underworld along with his heavy crimes. Only then Special Task Force will get permission to act against them from Head of Police." Old Officer said in serious tone, making it clear to Devansh that without those evidences, nothing could be done."What's the second thing? You didn’t mention, Uncle." Devansh asked, wondering why Old Officer didn’t tell him the whole thing at once."Can you even complete the first task!" Old Officer looked at Devansh like he was staring at a rash person who doesn’t know when to back down."It does sound very tough to accomplish, but it's not impossible. I might

  • 45. Old Officer

"Hmmn... let me see, he has blonde hair...!" Just as Inspector Mark Spencer said blonde hair, Devansh had a look of realization flash across his face."Ahh... yes, I know that person. I just didn’t recall the name." Devansh nodded but felt a sting of embarrassment creep up his neck. Not knowing the name of someone from his own class made him feel a little awkward."So, do you have any feud with him?" Inspector Mark asked again, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied Devansh’s expression."I don’t think I have ever fought with him, maybe a little argument... but nothing major." Devansh replied honestly, shaking his head. He never had any real conflict with that arrogant punk, at least nothing he would consider serious."Hmmn... but it’s written in the report that this young man Karnish Kaur made a deal with the North District Underworld Boss to target you. If there isn’t any feud, why would he go so far?" Inspector Mark looked at the report again before staring directly at Devansh.

  • 44. Smiling Devil

East District,Inside the prison ward, where suspects are kept for interrogation after the normal methods failed to break them."Ahhh... Please sto... stop... Ahhh...!" A loud, agonized scream tore through the silence, echoing violently off the cold stone walls of the prison. It came from behind the thick iron bars of one of the rooms, sending a chill down the spines of the other inmates. "He is at again...!"Those in nearby cells fell silent, shivering with dread as the raw, guttural pain in the voice reminded them of their own fate."Why should I? Didn’t you just say you wouldn’t spill anything? Well then..." The middle-aged officer chuckled softly, crouching beside the broken man lying on the floor, his voice disturbingly calm. "Let’s see just how loyal you really are to your boss." His brown hair was slicked back neatly, and his moustache twitched slightly with every word. A smile — far too composed for what he was doing — stayed frozen on his face."But... but you said you

"Hey, Resma... who did you get this gift from? It looks pretty expensive." A few personal friends came over to Resma, their eyes catching the beautifully crafted necklace resting elegantly on her neck. There was a visible spark of curiosity and admiration in their expressions."Hehe... it’s from my best friend, Ranran." Resma smiled proudly, her hand instinctively touching the necklace as she gave a playful thumbs-up toward her best friend’s boyfriend, who sat quietly in the corner."It wouldn't be less than a million, right?" another friend asked, her gaze fixed on the necklace, clearly intrigued."Now, now... don’t underestimate my Ranran’s love for me. It’s no less than five million." Resma Luis replied in a delighted tone, already aware of how rare and precious the necklace was. She looked like a girl who had just gotten her dream gift and couldn’t wait to show it off."Whoa... five million. It really does look like it’s worth that much." Her friends nodded, some in awe, others in
