TERROR

"A father wants to hit his son?" Theodora asked in a voice like running horses and a great wind began hovering around. Series of lightning kept flashing and when it made like everything calmed down, she suddenly appeared, coated in a fire with a glistening crown on her head.

The burning fire coming out of her lighted the whole arena and the people of Hilton Bale present bowed with their faces to the ground including Daniel's parents and lover who did even before others but Daniel refused to bow.

He refused to show fear and clenched his fists. Glaring at Theodora, he made a quick sign and breathed in and out before taking a step towards her. Daisy noticed that he didn't bow and also felt his moving steps and shook her head whilst cursing incoherently. She raised her face a little and her jaws slacked.

'What does he think he is doing? Does he want to fight her? What the fuck is even wrong with him?' She thought and pulled him before he could go far but he refused to budge and flung her hand away. "Daniel," she called faintly but he ignored her and kept taking steps towards Theodora.

"He's become so stubborn," she breathed and damning the risk of her next action, rushed after him and was about to grab him but a force threw her away and she landed at her initial spot, groaning in pain. "Daniel" she sobbed, rubbing her bruised arms and legs.

The people of Hilton Bale at the scream of Daisy, raised their faces to know what might've made her scream and their eyes budged out seeing Daniel walking towards Theodora with a scowl on his face. Shivering, they clasped their hands together and placed them on their lips as tears cascaded down their cheeks.

They fixed their gazes on him and kept muttering faint words as if they were praying. A few amongst them had urinated on their animal skin clothes due to how terrified they were and the air reeked of the foul scent. The growls of animals echoed all over the place that one might think animals were the ones being massacred.

Ivan and Ava refused to raise their faces as they were so frightened and didn't want to see the death of their only son with their eyes since he chose to be stubborn.

Theodora on her part kept calm and had a sweet smile on her face as she waited for little Daniel as she called him to get to her and do whatever he wanted to do. She couldn't even help but rub her long fingers in anticipation. "Walk faster, little Daniel." She whispered and giggled.

She clapped her hands and a throne-like chair appeared before her and she crouched down on it. Daniel scowled at her as he got in front of her. He raised his hand and the eyes of everyone widened as they all thought he would hit her but he surprised all of them by dropping back his hand and going down on his knees.

They gaped at him in awe.

"We thought you were going to hit her! At least so that we would have our freedom!" A male suddenly screamed and instantly, a bolt of lightning flashed at the spot the voice came from and three males dropped dead, their bodies so dark like charcoal. Just seconds after the bodies dropped dead, they melted and vanished to thin air, leaving only traces of dark colors on the soil.

The people gasped and scampered away from that spot, their bodies shuddering as tears racked their throats.

"My son. My son. My son." Three elderly females with grey hair, sobbed, staring at the dark-colored soil. One of them tore off her top and began rolling on the ground with bare breasts. She picked up the colored soil and pulled it close to her heart as tears racked her throat.

Daisy and Daniel's parents who later had no option but to raise their heads and were in tears as they stared at Daniel with dark eyes, blaming him once again in their hearts for what just happened.

Theodora laughed and shook her head. "He spoke when I didn't want anyone else to and that was why he received a special gift from me. It's so sad that he carried two other people along with. But it's not my fault actually."

She shrugged dismissively and gazed down at Daniel who was still on his knees but now had traces of tears in his eyes.

"What do you want, little Daniel. Why are you kneeling before me?" She asked.

Daniel clamped his hands together and stared into her deep green eyes. "Please stop the killing, Theodora. Please I'm sorry for challenging you. I take back my word. But please just stop the killing. Mothers are losing their only sons. Fathers are losing their only daughters. Siblings are losing their siblings. Please spare us. Please."

He lowered his head to her feet level and kissed one of it and also began rubbing it with his hair while using his tears as oil.

"But you haven't lost any of your family so why are you bothered? I just began and you are already taking back your word. What happened to your courage? Has it fallen down the drain? Oh, poor male." She laughed and patted his hair.

Daniel looked up at her and sighed. "I was a fool to challenge you. I'm just a mere mortal who has no powers. I acted out of my emotions. And now I've brought more pain to our people. They are my family too and I love them as much as I love my real parents. Please stop the killing. I'm so sorry."

Unbeknownst to Daniel, while he was blabbing, more people were dropping dead.

Each word of his had a mortal accompanying it. He only noticed it when a male not so far from them dropped dead immediately he said the word 'sorry.'

He turned back and couldn't help but count the bodies on the ground and then retraced his words and counted them too.

His face became filled with terror and his mouth dropped open knowing what just happened and he turned to look at Theodora who had smiles playing on her lips. His pulse instantly quickened.
