A brief silence filled the smoothly moving car cabin. Fang Zhe didn’t answer right away.

Outside the window, the towering buildings of Shange City began to rise. A world that had felt so cruel just hours ago now seemed to open a small path for him.

“What if I refuse?” he asked calmly.

Erina kept her gaze straight ahead.

“Lord Ryan is not the type to let a witness walk free. You’ve already beaten his men.”

She paused for a moment, then looked at him seriously.

“And you’re strong enough to make them curious.”

The meaning was clear. Refusing wasn’t a safe option either. Fang Zhe slowly leaned back.

“What’s my duty?”

“To protect me. Follow me. And obey my orders,” Erina replied briefly.

Without further hesitation, Fang Zhe nodded.

“I accept.”

DIIIIIING!

The system panel appeared again.

MAIN MISSION COMPLETED!

Obtain a proper job

Evaluation: Personal Bodyguard of the CEO of the Medicine Pavilion

Reward: 100 System Points

‘100 points have been added.’

‘Current total points: 150.’

‘Host has unlocked: Level 1 System Shop.’

Fang Zhe held his breath for a moment. It had only been a few hours since he returned to this city. The system was truly real. Completing missions really could change his fate.

Beside him, Erina crossed her arms.

“From now on, you work for me. Your salary will be officially discussed tomorrow. For tonight, come with me.”

The car turned into an elite district of Shange City.

A tall black iron gate opened automatically as the car approached. Beyond it stretched a vast garden with neatly arranged lights, a small fountain in the center, and a grand modern-classical mansion standing elegantly.

Fang Zhe paused slightly.

This place was more like a mansion.

The car stopped in front of the main entrance. Several servants immediately came forward to greet them respectfully.

“Miss.”

Erina stepped out first. Fang Zhe followed, maintaining a one-step distance behind her—an instinct that had formed naturally after acquiring his combat skills.

As they entered the main hall, his eyes caught the white marble interior, a crystal chandelier, and glass shelves filled with expensive medicinal bottles.

The Medicine Pavilion…

He began to understand that this residence was more than just a place to rest.

Erina stopped in the middle of the room and turned to face him.

“Listen carefully, Fang Zhe.”

Her tone had turned professional.

“This is both my residence and a private center of the Medicine Pavilion. Not all rooms are accessible to you.”

She raised one finger.

“Second floor, east wing. The research room. Without my permission, you are not allowed to touch anything there.”

A second finger.

“The storage room for rare medicinal materials. Even touching a bottle could be worth hundreds of millions. If you damage anything, your salary will be deducted!”

A third finger.

“Work documents in the study. Never read them or enter without my permission.”

Her sharp gaze ensured Fang Zhe understood.

“You may use the guard’s room on the first floor. There’s a small gym at the back. And a garden area.”

She stepped slightly closer.

“As a bodyguard, your duty is not curiosity. Your duty is protection.”

Fang Zhe glanced around once more.

“Understood.”

Erina nodded slightly.

“Good. The guard’s room is down the left hallway, third door. Get some rest. Tomorrow will be busy.”

Without waiting for a reply, she turned and walked up the marble stairs to the second floor. Her steps were light, yet her authority remained strong.

Fang Zhe stood for a few seconds in the grand hall.

A residence no less magnificent than the Zhao family’s. Well-trained servants. A mysterious system within his body. His life had changed too quickly.

Finally, he walked toward the left hallway. Third door, as instructed.

Click.

The door opened.

The room wasn’t as luxurious as the main hall, but it was far better than his aunt’s small house. A soft bed, a neat wooden wardrobe, a small desk, and a private bathroom.

For someone who had been sitting hungry at a bus stop that morning, this already felt like heaven.

Fang Zhe locked the door and sat on the edge of the bed. His breathing gradually steadied.

“System.”

DIIIIIING!

A blue transparent panel appeared before him.

Host Status: Fang Zhe

Occupation: Personal Bodyguard

System Points: 150

Unlocked Feature: Level 1 System Shop

“Open System Shop.”

The panel changed. A list of items and abilities appeared one by one.

• Reflex Enhancement +5% — 80 points

• Physical Endurance +5% — 100 points

• Basic Observation Technique — 120 points

• Basic Medical Proficiency — 500 points

Fang Zhe’s face instantly froze.

“What?!”

His eyes locked onto the last line.

‘Basic Medical Proficiency — 500 points.’

Less than an hour ago, it had been available for free as an initial choice. Now—

His expression twisted.

“Five hundred points?!”

He stood up, his breathing slightly heavier.

“System, are you kidding me?! That was a free option earlier!”

DIIIIIING!

‘Initial abilities were part of an emergency mission selection bonus. After the selection time expired, the price returned to standard.’

The corner of Fang Zhe’s eye twitched.

“Standard my ass!”

He ruffled his hair roughly.

Five hundred points meant completing several major missions. It wouldn’t be achievable anytime soon.

“You didn’t say the price would jump like this…”

‘Host did not read the terms and conditions.’

“You didn’t even show any terms! And you gave me a countdown to choose!”

The room fell silent again. The system panel remained cold and emotionless, making Fang Zhe click his tongue.

“How sly…”

He slowly sat back down. If only he had chosen medical earlier… But he shook his head.

“No. If I had chosen medical, Erina might’ve been taken away. I wouldn’t have a job. I wouldn’t have 150 points.”

The choice was still correct. It was just—

“Five hundred points for basic medical skills…” he muttered irritably.

He looked at the other abilities. This system was clearly not generous. It was a long-term investment.

Leaning back against the wall, he stared at the ceiling.

“Fine…”

His voice was soft, but his resolve was clear.

“If it’s expensive, then it must be valuable.”

His eyes narrowed.

“I’ll squeeze everything out of you, System.”

DIIIIIING!

‘Competitive spirit detected.’

‘The system favors ambitious hosts.’

“Shut up.”

His gaze shifted to the special ability he now possessed.

‘Basic combat technique (low level). Upgrade requires 200 points.’

‘Charisma: 0!’

“Charisma?”

CLICK!

His eyes suddenly widened. He had accidentally tapped it out of curiosity—

His points instantly dropped to zero!

DIIIIIING!

‘Host has upgraded Charisma to a level of handsomeness surpassing the young masters of Shange City!’

A few seconds later...The figure emerging from behind the grand doors was not Han Mujun. Instead, it was a well-built man in a deep blue robe that billowed wildly in the fierce wind generated by his own surging Qi. He had a square jaw and a bloodthirsty gaze that radiated a chilling aura, completely distinct from the freezing temperature of Fang Zhe's ice.He was Han Wuyu, the biological older brother of Elder Han Su.Han Wuyu stepped down the marble stairs slowly, yet every single footstep left a small fracture in the floor. His eyes locked instantly onto the row of his family members frozen like street decorations, before shifting toward Fang Zhe, who stood calmly in their midst."So, you are the brat named Fang Zhe?" Han Wuyu’s voice was deep and raspy, carrying a heavy pressure that made Siska’s chest tighten inside the car. "You destroyed our Patriarch’s hand, and what is even more unforgivable... you left my younger brother, Han Su, permanently crippled and dying! Just for esco

The black sedan driven by Siska glided along a private asphalt road surrounded by lush, dense trees. The domain of the Han Family was not just a mere residential complex; it was an exclusive district enclosed by five-meter-high concrete walls topped with electrified barbed wire.In the distance, the main building of the Han residence stood tall, resembling a medieval fortress blended with modern architecture. An aura of luxury and power radiated intensely from it, as if every single brick had been built upon piles of gold and the bones of their enemies. However, when their car was only a hundred meters away from the heavily guarded main gate, the road was no longer clear.CIIIIIIEEEEEETTT!Siska slammed on the brakes. The four-meter-high iron gates groaned and shuddered violently—not from a physical touch, but from a concussive wave of air pressure exploding from Fang Zhe’s body. The guards, who had been howling with laughter just moments ago, froze instantly. Their mockery was swallowed back down their throats as they felt the atmosphere around them suddenly turn as heavy as lead."What is... Ugh!" The scarred guard’s eyes bulged in shock.CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!Without Fang Zhe lifting a single finger, an overwhelming gravitational pressure slammed into the shoulders of the six guards simultaneously. The sickening crack of knees hitting the asphalt echoed through the air. They were all forced into a kowtow position, their faces pressed hard against the cold ground."W-what is this?! My body... I can’t move!" one of the guards roared with a choked voice. His lungs felt as if they were being crushed by the weight of a thousand tons."Help! Fang Zhe narrowed his eyes as he listened to the system’s new mission. 50,000 points. That amount was enough to purchase any technique he could dream of for Aunt Mei and Dr. Irma—perhaps even enough to buy a whole continent if the system was in a generous mood."Sky Luck Pavilion, huh? You don't need to remind me; I remember it well," Fang Zhe muttered coldly. He stood up, flicking his black robe which now radiated a faint crimson aura—an effect of the God’s Blood that had just fused with his meridians. Without wasting time, he pulled out his phone and dialed Siska’s number."Siska, pick me up at the inter-provincial road coordinates, right at the edge of the Ancient Mountain forest. Now.""Understood, Sir! I’m on my way!"An hour later, a luxury black sedan with dark tinted windows pulled over with a smooth screech of tires at the edge of the deserted asphalt road. Siska stepped out of the driver's seat, bowing respectfully as she saw Fang Zhe walking out from the dense forest."Mast

"DAMN SYSTEEMMM! YOU REALLY ARE A BLOODSUCKING PIECE OF JUNK!" Fang Zhe roared so loudly that pebbles crumbled from the cave ceiling. His breath was ragged, his eyes bulging at the transparent panel before him which casually displayed a big fat zero in the points column. The hopes he had held so high just moments ago were instantly shattered."Two missions! I fought with everything I had, facing lions, bears, and even that old geezer just to collect points! Han Mujun and the members of the great family suddenly froze in their tracks. The air in the cave, which had begun to cool, instantly turned oppressive once more. Fang Zhe’s Qi pressure, now far denser after absorbing the blood pond, locked every one of their joints in place."What do you mean, boy?" Han Mujun turned with great effort, his wrinkled face drenched in cold sweat. "You’ve already destroyed my hand, seized the Blood Pond, and shamed my name. What more do you want?!"Fang Zhe walked casually, stepping over puddles of ice and blood, before leaning against the now-cracked cave wall."It’s simple," Fang Zhe said, idly tapping his fingers. "You all entered this place with the intent to kill me, ruined the view while I was working, and forced me to pay a very expensive system 'admin' fee. Do you really think I’d let you leave with your wallets still full?"He then pointed to the floor in front of him."Lay all your valuables right there. Your ATM cards along with their PINs, fam
