Daniel was still angry with Crying God who had a warm smile on his face as if what he had just done was very funny. His blue eyes squinted slightly as his lips pursed to prevent himself from laughing out loud.
After some moments, Crying God said, "Actually I came to inform you that the time for the meeting is due. Ten minutes from now the meeting will be commencing." "Oh, right," Daniel said, forgetting that he was angry with Crying God. "I guess I should log into F******k then." Hearing this Crying God couldn't help but chuckle, "Nah, this isn't necessary. I and Orpheus have worked together to develop something very fascinating. You'd love it." Daniel had a puzzled look, not for once following Crying God's train of thoughts. Why were Wizards like this? Crying God soon stopped chuckling as he said, "Well, Orpheus came up with the idea of using the virtual reality to convene our meetings. This way we'd be able to maintain our secrecy without being afraid of other secret organizations suddenly coming after us." Why didn't Orpheus tell me this earlier? Daniel couldn't help but ask himself. It seemed the Count was becoming more and more proud. He even chose not to tell him something as important as this when he was the founder of Curious Mythologist! It was so unfair! Now Crying God would see him as an idiot. "Orpheus got his employees from another galaxy to create a virtual reality which would be accessible to only those he chooses," Crying God continued. "At first, our goal was to just let only the consciousnesses of our members to enter the virtual space but..." "But what?" Daniel asked so that Crying God wouldn't feel he was the only one talking (as if he would mind!). "But I felt the idea wasn't exactly broad," Crying God said. "I discussed with him about allowing our true bodies to be able to enter as well." "This..." Daniel narrowed his eyes. He hadn't come across something like this in his entire life. Even when reading novels, he hadn't encountered any situation where the characters entered the virtual space with their physical body. It was only done with their consciousnesses. "So we fixed that issue," Crying God said. "He asked his employees to adjust the virtual space to allow physical bodies enter. This virtual space was further created to allow physical bodies entering it to be transformed into a set of codes. We'd exist in form of information!" Daniel's body couldn't help but tremble after that. He then said, "Only a Combat Magician would come up with such an idea." Crying God raise his chin slightly after being praised. He then said, "Now I've written a set of incantations you'd need to recite to be able to appear in the virtual space with your physical body." Crying God then paused before continuing, "If not, you can consider entering with only your consciousness. There's a device which allows that. I'll send it straight away." Suddenly a bracelet appeared beside Daniel, causing him to be slightly stunned. He hadn't expected Crying God's magic to be this powerful. Silently he took the bracelet and caressed it. It was just made of silver and had the name 'Curious Mythologists' carved in it. There was also an additional name 'Crimson Wolf's carved in it but it soon vanished as if it had never been there. "Strange," Daniel said as he wore the bracelet, not waiting for Crying God to tell to do so. It would spoil his overall image as the founder of Curious Mythologists. After seeing that Daniel had worn the bracelet, Crying God smiled, "See you at the Museum!" Hearing this, Daniel's facial muscles couldn't help but twitch. Crying God and Orpheus had already named the virtual space without informing him. Crimsones and Wizards were one of the most troublesome Cursed he had ever met. On one hand were the Crimsones who were always very proud and one the other hand were Wizards who were always so mischievous and intelligent. Daniel expected Crying God to end the call immediately but the latter added, "Remember to tap the bracelet to have your consciousness transported to the virtual space!" Crying God soon ended the call after some seconds to prepare for the meeting. Seeing this, Daniel sighed and turned to look at Bloody Mary. But she was nowhere to be found. The only one lying on the bed was Caroline and she was very weak. She couldn't even look up at Daniel. So troublesome...Daniel was even afraid of thinking something offensive about Bloody Mary because she was possessing him. He could only tap the bracelet and close his eyes, waiting to be transported to the virtual space...or the Museum. After some minutes he felt his environment become very distinct and when he opened his eyes he was standing in front of a very large building. It was made of red bricks and had a very large black iron door standing at the front. There was a large emblem at the top of the building which read, "Curious Mythologists." Seeing this, Daniel couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief, "Thankfully they didn't add the Museum or I would have been furious." The surrounding was covered in a red fog, giving it a creepy feeling. Daniel even began to wonder if Orpheus had a Horror as one of his employee because that was the only way he could have brought such a terrifying imagination to life. Daniel took a deep breathe and walked towards the door, pushing it. Immediately he did so, a terrifying voice boomed across the whole place, "Crimson Wolf identified." "..." Daniel's facial muscles twitched. He even added a recognition system...In that case what happens if someone not recognized by the system appears? He would have continued thinking but the door soon opened, revealing four people already seated on long chairs around a table in a meeting hall. The meeting hall was very large that the pillars built within it were gigantic. There was one empty long chair and he immediately went to sit down, not feeling uneasy because he had actually come late to the meeting. "It's your fault for being early," Daniel muttered habitually as he turned to look at the faces of the other Curious Mythologists members. There was Crying God who was dressed in a red classy trenchcoat and black shirt with a red bowtie. His blue eyes were filled with mischief and a warm smile hung on his face as if everything was funny. Beside him was Sexy Peacock with a very cold expression as if she didn't value anyone in the hall at all. She wore a red vest and a black long sleeved shirt, her green eyes observing Daniel emotionlessly. Next was Crimson Moon who was dressed the same way as Crying God, only that he had removed the trenchcoat and his feet were on the table, displaying his red combat boots. His face was extremely gorgeous, his long red hair tied into a ponytail. After seeing Daniel, the Crimson Wolf stare at him, he scoffed, "Long time no see." "Mister, we saw each other thirty minutes ago..." Daniel muttered under his breathe. The last person was Unknown who had a very innocent expression, her grey hair cascading down her shoulders. She was dressed the same way as Sexy Peacock but instead of giving out a unique charm like Sexy Peacock, she was dispelling a horrifying aura. Despite having a childish beauty, there was this aura of horror around her, making Daniel's facial muscles to twitch. "Another Horror..." Daniel couldn't help but mutter to himself another time. "Why am I so much surrounded by Horrors?" He then continued to mutter to himself, forgetting that there were other people around, "Bloody Mary is a Path four, Specter of the Horror Cursed type, Caroline is a Path one, Zombie while Unknown is a Path three, Spirit...This is so disturbing. If I suddenly die from heart attack, then it's not my fault." It was after some moments that he realized that the others were staring at him, waiting for him to talk. He had even forgotten that he was the leader of this secret organization. "Hehe," he chuckled as he resisted the urge to scratch the back of his head. "First of all, I have a question to ask you, Crimson Moon." "Go ahead," Orpheus the Crimson Moon responded, tapping the table with his boots. "Take your boots off the table right now," Sexy Peacock said coldly. "..." Daniel was rendered speechless instantly. Crimson Moon on the other hand turned to stare at her for some moments before removing his feet slowly. His ego was hurt a little after doing that. Sexy Peacock was a Path three, Scarlet Eye of the Witch Cursed type. She could see and hear things from other realms, communicating with existences from beyond. She could also create doors to this realms, making her a terrifying Cursed. Crimson Moon felt that if he was suddenly transported one night after going to bed to the lakes of hell, his potion manipulation wouldn't work at all. So it was better not to offend this girl even though the tendencies of her harming him was very low. They were after all members of the same organization. Why would they kill each other? "The question goes like this," Daniel soon talked, breaking the tensed atmosphere. "If someone is not a member of the organization and suddenly appears in...uh, the Museum...what will happen?" Crying God whose face had been filled with anticipation immediately fell. He had been expecting a small fight from the Scarlet Eye and Count. Sadly, Daniel disrupted his plans. Crimson Moon was about responding when a terrifying voice sounded, "Evil Buddha recognized." "I forgot there's still one person," Daniel said. "Thankfully I'm not the one who came last to the meeting." A young teenager around the age of 18 walked into the meeting hall. He was also wearing the red trenchcoat and black shirt with a pair of red leather pants. His feet were clad in red combat boots, making him look like a dignified gentleman. This teenager also had an air of knowledge, his black eyes filled with experience. It was none other than Evil Buddha, the Path three, Shadow of the Doppelganger Cursed type. "My apologies," Evil Buddha said as he pressed his hands to his chest. "I was on a mission given to me by the Church. I could only hide away from my companions to attend this meeting." As he sat down Daniel couldn't help but ask, "The Church doesn't know that you're a member of Curious Mythologists?" "I don't know about that," Evil Buddha said. "At least they've not hinted at anything like that." "Wouldn't it be easier for the higher-ups to know?" Crying God asked. "I mean, the Doppelganger Cursed type revolves around darkness, truth and change. The Church must have a demigod as a higher-up." "We have more than one demigod and an angel," Evil Buddha replied. "But then it's not my business if they know or not. They haven't said anything so it's okay." Daniel decided to repeat his question so that Evil Buddha wouldn't be left out. He then waited for Crimson Moon to respond. "It's simple," Crimson Moon explained. "No one can appear directly within the Museum. It's a preventive measure to guard against spies. Everyone has to appear in the surrounding virtual space. "If a spy appears and is not recognized as a member of Curious Mythologists, he would be kicked out immediately." Crimson Moon then paused before adding, "You'd have to be a demigod to bypass the restriction of being kicked out. We're still working on this place so expect more developments." As if you created it, Daniel thought within himself. He then turned to look at all the Curious Mythologists seated at the table, "Now that we are all here, we can now begin the meeting."Latest Chapter
Chapter Forty four: Reuniting with Family
Archangel Raphael and Daniel stood for some moments without saying anything. The silence hung in the air, weighing with a burdening truth. Just a few minutes ago several things had been revealed to Daniel. Things which he couldn't have known in a lifetime.Unlike before the Garden of Eden had quietened down. There were no more quakes resulting from battles between angels or Cursed. The atmosphere had become still—an unsettling peace lingering in the air.So the Primordial Wolf is not the hero I thought him to be, Daniel thought within himself. Crimson and Furs are really sly... once I get out of here I'll have to won Orpheus to be careful. He nearly became a vessel...He was still thinking when he got interrupted by Raphael clicking his tongue, "The previous cosmic battles that had occurred before—the one last year and ones from infinity past—they're going to be insignificant compared to what is going to happen in the future."An alarm bell struck within Daniel's soul, sending a cacop
Chapter Forty three: Victory At Last
The Golem growled lowly, glaring at Gorven and Mr. Stark with blazing eyes. Its preys who were supposed to be easily defeated were proven difficult to kill. In centuries of its life it had slain countless people who had come across it—Faes and humans alike. No one had been able to defeat it. And yet, only two puny humans here were given it so much trouble. It couldn't accept that outcome. Never."I. Will. Kill. You," it spat out the monotonic words which seemed to come deeply from the bowels of a machine. It was as if it was learning how to construct a sentence, even if it was very hard."I didn't know it can speak," Gorven smiled. "That's a very good development."Mr. Stark narrowed its eyes, "I don't know but something tells me that we should end this creature quickly before the battle escalates..."Weakening!The Golem pressed its hands together as it leaped towards the both of them. It then straighted out its right hand, causing a bow of light materialized."I... will... kill... y
Chapter Forty two: Clash With the Golem
The Shadow Realm was a cage of infinity. Grey mist rolled like dead oceans across a flat, endless floor that cracked beneath every step. There was no sky, no ground, only a suffocating veil where sound died quickly and sight felt deceived. Dimensions were nonexistent here, space a redundant concept. And within this boundless nowhere, the monster stood like a mountain given purpose. And standing some meters away from it was Gorven the Tall and Mr. Stark. The Path four Golem dwarfed the men before it. Its body was a fortress of jagged slabs, fused together by seems of molten gold that pulsed like veins carrying Cursed blood. The glow deepened with every breath it drew, light seeping out of cracks as if the stony shell could barely contain the wrath within. Its head was a blocky crown of rock, but its gaze—two blazing eyes of molten fire—stabbed through the haze with a cold intelligence no mere construct could possess.Every step it took was an earthquake. Dust trembled lose from its sho
Chapter Forty one: The Bait
Mr. Stark was still pondering about whether to be glad that he had become a Path one Elf when he saw something flash at the mouth of the cave.It seemed the creature which had taken care of the giant mosquitoes was still there. Obviously it was trying to get into the pit which he was inside. But somehow it had not still found its way there. It was as if it was bidding for something—or better still fighting another creature. But which creature would it be fighting? Mr. Stark thought within himself, his heart racing with fear. It was fear of the unknown. Here in the Garden of Eden things were very bizarre. And one would lose his life over carelessness. He couldn't be too careful down here.Just because I've become an Elf doesn't me that I'm powerful enough to face the forces down here, he thought within himself. Even Michael is having issues handling the forces down here much less me...He was still thinking when he heard several loud thuds followed by flashes of golden light. Then ther
Chapter Forty: Rewarding Situation
Mr. Stark was still running when he heard a beastly growl echo throughout the entire forest. He would have stopped and turned back instantly. That was the first thing his instinct told him—to turn around and run without even looking back for once.Whatever creature had made that noise wasn't normal. Perhaps it was even on the level with the Primordial Giant who had attacked them earlier. And even if it wasn't on the same level, it wouldn't be too weaker than the Path six Cursed. He would have turned back if not for the giant mosquitoes on his tail. They numbered up to millions and were chasing him relentlessly. All of them were attracted to the divine aura he had on him. But he didn't know that because—even though he was surrounded by Cursed—he didn't have much knowledge about things like that. So there was no way for him to know.He was still running when he suddenly plunged downwards, his hands waving frantically in the air. It turned out that someone had set a trap there, placing a
Chapter Thirty nine: Giant Mosquitoes
Mr. Stark continued running through the thick forest, getting very far away from Dantes' location. He was worried that the Stage Magician wouldn't be able to fare against the Faes for some reason. But then he had to put his trust in the General of Invasion. If the Alien had told them that they had more chance separated than being together, then there had to be a way. After running for some minutes he finally got tired and decided to rest underneath a large tree. This tree was very different than any plant he had ever seen before. It looked like a gigantic blade of grass instead of a tree, soft unlike most trees. It was after some seconds that Mr. Stark realized that this wasn't actually a tree but a grass. Within the Garden of Eden everything underwent chaotic transformations. Hence smaller plants were gigantic and the bigger ones were smaller. He decided to sit down while maintaining vigilance over his surroundings. Right now he was defenseless, without Michael to protect him. He did
