Chapter One

XXX New York city

Its 7:30am in the morning inside the Rakenji mansion, Almiron still laying on the bed sleeping. He tossed from one side onto the other, trying to get the nightmares out of his head.

“Mom,” he muttered in the dark enclosed space he stood.

From behind him, a space appeared, lighted up and in the centre of it, was a familiar car.

“You don’t get to fucking talk to me that way.” A familiar voice barked from within the car.

Taking several steps forward, Almiron choked on his saliva upon seeing the people inside the car was none other than his mother, father and himself, except they were all younger versions.

To say he was confused to see his deceased mother, was an understatement, but being the smart individual he was raised to be, Almorin immediately identified the situation playing out in front of him as a dream.

But despite knowing this, it didnt stop him from banging his fist against the car’s window, attempting to gain his parents attention.

“Mom, dad, it’s me. I’m here.” He called.

The addresses individuals however, paid no mind to him, carrying on with their conversation.

“This...this is pointless,” His mother, Bella Rakenji, scoffed at her husband’s pettiness.

Like, who in their right frame of mind picks an argument with his wife first thing in the morning.

“Arguing with you, is pointless.” She added, the reflection of her young son catching her attention from the rare view mirror.

Glancing back, the innocent boy looked between his parents.

“Can...can we go to school now, the play's about to start?”

“Of course honey.” Bella responded, ruffling his hair affectionately before turning towards her silent husband and gesturing for him to drive along.

Seeing as the car began to move away, fear gripped Almiron’s heart. He knew the outcome of this scene, the inevitable.

“No, no dont go.” He called out, trying to take a step forward, but much to his surprise, his feet failed to obey his command.

“No, I...I have to stop them.” He struggled. “You cant leave. You cant leave! Mom, mom don’t go, don’t go!”

With one final call towards the moving car, feet having been stuck in place, Almiron found himself gasping for air as he shot up from his bed.

“H-ha.” Breath shaky, he managed to hoist himself up into a seating position, allowing his gaze wander the familiar interior of his room before sighing in relief.

‘It was all a dream.’ He told himself, burying his face in the centre of his palm all the while allowing the effect the dream had on him to lessen.

In those seconds of silence, he found himself running around a single question; why now of all day did he have that horrid dream.

It had been years after that incident, he remembered everything that happened like the back of his palms as they always chased him in his dreams. However, for the past year, he had stopped having those dream, leading him to believe he was slowly gliding towards peaceful waters, but now, that obviously wasn’t the case.

Sighing and pulling away from his thoughts, Almiron slipped out of his bed and slammed his alarm clock shut as soon as it began ringing.

‘What a nuisance,’ He thought, groaning at the fact that due to his nightmares he was going to be late for college.

His first day of college, talk about fucking Christmas talk.

Walking towards the bathroom, not failing to notice the calendar on his table with the date circled with a red marker, the frown on his face deepened.

“Talk about fucking Christmas talk.” He mumbled in distaste, not wanting to think about the incident he faced that fateful day.

His mother’s death anniversary.

Every year the day of her death day was always tough for him, no matter how much he’s aunt tried to help him she could not, that day always brought an unbearable feeling of emptiness and loneliness for almiron.

He quickly got into the shower getting ready for college, he was almost done and in no time he was done with it,

Almiron was a guy who did not care for education as much, he knew the basics that could make he’s life easy and equally he’s father was a wealthy politician

Either way he got dressed and while leaving he spotted hes dad at his office and decided to say hello.

“Dad.”

“Oh, almiron!, I didn’t notice you there.” hes father quickly replied back.

“Well I didn’t know you would be up this early, am leaving for college.” He said

“Right, have fun.” He’s father replied with a down tone.

Without wasting anymore time he left he's father’s presence and was heading towards he’s car, on the way he was greeted by the family driver.

“Good morning, Mr almiron.” The driver said

“Good morning, you can go ahead and start the car.” Almiron said while he opens the back door.

“Sure.”

He started the car and the engine starts to purr like a kitten

They drove out of the driveway and into the road.

‘Hmmm, guess like this is it, my first day at college.’ Almiron thought while the car pulled to a stop due to the heavy traffic ahead.

The driver turned towards almiron and gave a smile

“Don’t worry sir, the traffic would soon pass. It’s been a busy day.” The driver informed almiron.

“yeah and my mood has already been killed.” He said while leaning against the window steel.

As he was leaning against the window steel deep in thoughts, however not failing to not notice the old woman who was selling flowers next to his car.

He’s moment of admiring the flowers was cut short as two guys attacked the elderly lady spilling over the basket of flowers and pulling along her purse as they ran off.

Without any thought almiron turned towards hes driver and said

“park the car and help the old lady.”

“But sir your going to be late.”

The driver said to him but almiron had already exited the car and began chasing after them.

The two men who stole the old lady purse were running on the other side of the street. They were fast and were about to turn the corner when suddenly someone tackled them and both men went tumbling to the ground.

Almiron got up and he knew he was outnumbered so he decided to quickly grab the old lady purse and get back to hes driver but while doing so he realized that one of their hands were still firmly gripped on the purse and he was not willing to let go.

“Let go, it’s not yours.” Almiron said while trying to shake off the guy’s grip.

“Back off kid, this doesn’t concern you.” The man replied and tried to punch almiron.

Almiron dodged it but lost he’s balance while doing so then both him and the mugger fell in the middle of the road.

“Ouch!.” Almiron yelled out in pain, as he rubs he’s now bloody forehead.

The mugger gets up gaining full possession of the purse, and while almiron struggles to stand on he's feet a speeding truck suddenly came out of nowhere and headed straight towards them.

They both stare at the in coming vehicle both in fear as none of their bodies seems to be able to move

‘Is this it?, is this the end for me?’

Those were Almiron’s last thoughts as the vehicle approached them faster.

SCREECH!!!.....

Darkness, that was all he could see until he calmly opened his eyes.

He could hear his heart beating like a drum while noticing that he was back at his bedroom.

“My room, how?” he muttered while he slowly sits up.

He feels his forehead looking for the injury he got while falling on the road but to his surprise there was none.

In shock he asked himself

“Was it all a dream?.”

He feels his body(chest) just to confirm and to his surprise there were no injuries or whatsoever. He signs then says to himself

“Huh, guess it was a dream.”

‘But it felt so real.’ He thought to himself while setting off the alarm clock as soon as it began to ring.

He slid out of his bed having a tingling feeling. Walking towards the bathroom once more not failing to notice the calendar on his table with a date circled with a red marker, he looks at the date while thoughts go through his mind.

‘Feels like this has happened before, talk about deja vu.’

Almiron walks into the shower to prepare for college and in no time he was done, once again he steps out of his room spotting his father in he's office then he gets a weird feeling again.

Nevertheless he walks into he’s father’s office greeting him on sight

“Dad"

“Oh almiron, I didn’t notice you there.” He’s father replied back

“Well I didn’t know you would be up this early, I’m leaving for college.”

He said but as he was just about leaving he’s attention was drawn by the breaking news on the TV.

“Celine live from channel four news. Today, fresh from new York city’s very own street, we’ll be covering the tragic accident that occurred, an hour ago.”

Stepping aside, making it so her camera man could catch footage of the scene, familiar red sweat hoodie and grey joggers had Almira’s eyes widening beyond their capacity.

‘What in the.’

he thought, the rest of his words dwindling as the newscaster carried on.

“Twenty eight year old james bradwich was found dead at the scene after being hit by an incoming truck, paramedics say there were 2 pool of blood indicating that there were 2 victims at the scene but only one was seen and the other body is yet to be found. This is Celine Milton signing out.” The newscaster says, waving towards the camera, an indication that her days work was over and she could go relax in the comfort of her thousand dollar jacuzzi.

Nothing better than a peaceful life footed by a less stressful job.

However, despite how peaceful that sounds to all, the emotions running amuck within Almiron was far from peaceful, after all, he was certain that without a doubt in the world, the second pool of blood, belonged to none other than himself.
