Chapter 16

Benedict went on nodding like a puppet while Henry made things clear. Henry was making use of every nerve in his finger pointed at Benedict to pass the message. He wasn’t throwing cheap threats.

“You can leave now,” Henry concluded and in an instant, Benedict vanished.

When Henry went back to the hotel room, Stacey had already packed their bags. They dashed out. When they got to the reception, they met Mr. Cross.

“We will take our leave. We had a good time.” Henry said.

Mr. Cross smiled. “It’s an honor to hear that from you. Did you come with a car? I can make arrangements for a private vehicle to take you to your destination.”

Henry shook his head. “That wouldn’t be necessary.”

Mr. Cross walked them to the door.

When they got outside, Stacey moved to the spot where she had parked her car the previous day. She stepped on the driver’s corner and after Henry got in, she drove off.

“Let’s go to the hospital,” Henry said after Stacey drove past the hotel.

She smiled. “Of course.”
