After passing through two villages, each separated by about a day's journey, they finally arrived at the last village before reaching the foot of Mount Huangshan the next day. They reached the village just as day was turning into night.

According to the story given by Prince Wang Wei, this final village was mostly inhabited by former members of the Red Bat Sect. "Former" in the sense that those nearing fifty years of age were forced to leave the sect to allow for regeneration. Though they were expelled, their lives were not left adrift by Wayward Fang. The leader of the Red Bat Sect continued to provide them with daily allowances.

Although not overly crowded, the village was considered economically developed. This was understandable since the village was directly governed by Wayward Fang himself. In other words, he was both the head of the sect and the village chief.

On the other hand, he also thought that the emperor’s decree had to be carried out in order to sustain the needs of the stomach that could not be ignored.“Your Majesty, if we simply demand without giving anything in return, the people will grow resentful toward us.”“Then what is your suggestion?” asked Emperor Yan Yuan.“We should use the palace treasury to purchase food supplies from them,” Liu Zun suggested.“There is no need! What use is it for me to be emperor if the people will not submit to my decree? Order the soldiers to carry out my command at once!” Emperor Yan Yuan barked.“But, Your Majesty, the people may lose respect for you if we force them,” Liu Zun quickly replied.“Do not defy my orders! Once the war is over, I will rule with an iron fist so that no one will ever dare shake my authority again!” Emperor Yan Yuan snapped.“As you command, Your Majesty. I shall see it done at once.” Liu Zun bowed respectfully before leaving the hall. The chief general of the Yuan Dyna

The four soldiers finally realized they had been lured into the forest. The two youths they had been chasing had successfully baited them into following their trail. The soldiers glanced around, wary of any hidden enemies lying in wait.Once they confirmed that the youths’ horses had no reinforcements nearby, they breathed a sigh of relief. One soldier scoffed arrogantly, “You said you’ve been waiting for us, didn’t you? Well then, what are you going to do with us now?” He stood with his hands on his hips and his chin lifted high.Mei Hwa only clicked her tongue before dashing forward. In a blur, she drew the Heavenly Sword and slashed at the arrogant soldier’s neck. His head rolled to the ground, followed by his body collapsing with a heavy thud. The other three soldiers froze in horror, stunned by their comrade’s gruesome death. What shocked them most was that none of them had even seen the beautiful girl’s movement.“Anyone else who wants their head separated like his?” Mei Hwa poi

Zu Mao nodded. “It was only an act. I can sense that the dark aura I had planted within her body has completely vanished. It seems Chun Li’s body has been purified—though I don’t know by whom.”Bao Yu truly admired his leader’s ability. To prevent any of his members from escaping his control, Zu Mao had implanted a dark aura within them, serving as a radar if anyone dared betray him.“This time, I am placing my trust in you once again. Do not squander the trust I’ve given you—carry out my orders properly!”“Thank you, Leader. I promise I will not waste the trust you’ve granted me,” Bao Yu replied, bowing his head.“Go keep an eye on her—make sure she doesn’t suspect a thing!”“Yes, Leader.” Bao Yu bowed respectfully before leaving the hall.“Bao Yu!” Zu Mao’s voice stopped him just as he was about to step outside. Bao Yu turned back to face him.“Do not take any action once you find proof. Remember, your strength is no match for hers. Report to me immediately if she makes any suspicio

Before he could even regain his balance, another attack struck—one invisible to Ranu’s eyes. He only sensed a massive surge of energy moving toward him.Ranu quickly dodged again, leaping two steps to the side. But suddenly, a powerful blow smashed into his back, sending him tumbling across the ground repeatedly.A faint cough escaped his lips, followed by a trickle of fresh blood from the corner of his mouth. The leader of the Sky Sword Sect naturally found it hard to imagine facing two imperial dynasties whose power and might far surpassed that of the Yuan Dynasty. Especially in the Tang Empire, where first-class martial experts resided. At the very least, there were a few warriors whose skills were equal to Ranu’s—or perhaps even greater."That may be so, Elder Wan. Surely we do not wish for those two empires to become our enemies. If they do, then we can only surrender to fate," replied Wei Ho."Only the weak surrender, Elder! As long as I live, I will never allow this land to be ruled by the Dark King. If once I killed the Dark Prince, then I must also be able to kill his father!" Ranu interrupted flatly, his tone pressing with determination."As long as those two dynasties do not interfere with the sovereignty of the Yuan Dynasty, then we need not take any action," Ranu continued.Wei Ho gave a bitter smile at Ranu’s response. He felt ashamed for having spoken wrongly. Despite being f
