Transmigration

‘Did I hear someone talking about host this and that besides my ear?

But I see no one, though.

Is this hallucination where usually occurs before dying?

Ah right! Before I died I watched the last episode of the Great Remaru Tempest, and before playing the game, I met the client….

Yeah, Yeah I remembered. There’s no point dwelling on unpleasant memories…

But where am I?

Oh yeah! I remembered someone talking about a soul traveling to the netherworld, but he was trying to prevent it.

Is he perhaps talking about me?

Pft! It’s such a joke, right? Well, after all. How could anyone achieve such supernatural things? I don’t even know if the netherworld does really exist!

But… But… He talked about granting the host’s desire… If ever he was really talking about me, and he could reincarnate me in the world I wanted, just like what he mentioned… I-I will…

Anyway, let’s try to determine who this person was talking to besides my ear. Earlier, there was only me and Angela, and there was no one having a monotonous tone besides us. In addition, she could not have just talked about it in such a tone where she was clearly angry right?

Who might he be?’

[Host’s body is currently in a spiritual state. The system is trying to find the right physical body for the host.]

Isaac was stunned, as when he wondered who this person was, it suddenly interrupted him by saying something he had to place effort to understand. But when he finally understood what the “person” was talking about, without hesitation, he hastily said.

“Please, not on the body of a noble person. I don’t want to be in a cage. I want to be like a bird who’s free and even unbound by the sky!”

[Granted. The host desires the body of a creature with wings and physical structure like a bird. In addition, the creature should not be perfect and fierce akin to a hawk, thus the creature should have many flaws.]

“No! That’s not what I meant-.”

[The system has now decided on the right creature.]

Before Isaac could explain himself, he lost consciousness.

…..

Dozens of seconds earlier. A blue wisp was floating in the dim surroundings, making its appearance conspicuous. It was slowly drifting forward, while sometimes it would stop at the ground before continuing to float forward as though it was trying to find something. It did not long before it stopped to a carcass that resembled a fly.

It was a dead mosquito.

It was the only mosquito lying on the ground, as though it was alone and died in solitary. The little blue wisp stopped before the carcass and suddenly disappeared inside its body. A moment later, the dead mosquito’s body twitched, and its shut eyes suddenly opened.

….

[The host’s soul is integrating into the new physical body.

Soul merging successfully.]

Isaac immediately tried to move his body, but he suddenly found himself in extreme starvation, which made him almost lose his mind. He was in unbearable pain, as though if he did not eat at any minute, he would die from hunger.

“System… why am I feeling this way?”

He could only rely on the “person” who called himself the “system” to get answers. It did not long before he received it.

[The host is currently in a berserk state… Looking for the cause... The solution has been found after determining the cause.]

[The host has one minute to satiate the hunger, or the host will die from starvation.]

Isaac opened his eyes, which were colored crimson bloody red. Suddenly, he realized his vision was different from normal. All he could see in his surroundings was black and white, while there would be outlines and shapes. If he was not wrong, there were huge rocks, and a huge wall which made him thought he was in some kind of tunnel.

However, Isaac could not worry about that. He perceived a living thing's outlines, but he could not point out what it clearly was for he only saw its color. Before Isaac knew it, his body moved forward as though wanting to feast on their prey.

The living thing's outlines suddenly moved, as though it faced him as it noticed him. However, in the living outlines perspective, what he only saw was some kind of little insect and thus paid no heed to it.

The living thing was on all fours, which Isaac perceived might be some kind of animal. Hence he was not against eating it unless it was human. However, one thing was in his mind, why does the living thing appear to grow bigger as they closed their distance?

Isaac flew at the speed of light, which even his tattered wings could not hinder his flight, and injected his mouth into the living thing’s body. At this moment, Isaac still failed to realize he was not human anymore, for his mind was in euphoria.

He remembered the time when he tasted the food made by the world’s renowned Master Chief, and this was exactly how he felt. The living thing's body wiggled, but Isaac did not notice it.

The living thing suddenly roared in anger as it used its tail to slap the location where it felt so much pain. Isaac senses the danger and subconsciously controlled his wings to fly backward.

Isaac dodges the tail in a hair-breadth.

Isaac noticed a long-color red, which replaced his previous location, as he did not realize it was even a tail. A tail that could be used as an offensive attack that almost killed him. However, he could not care more about it as his craving for food kicked in.

Now, Isaac moved and decided not to target the long-color red as he felt it was dangerous. This time, he decided to stick his mouth in a place where he felt he was safer.

Isaac continued to suck the blood of the creature without his knowing. If he was aware that the delicacies he thought he was eating were actually the blood of the living thing, who knows what reaction he would make?

[You have learned the Common skill, Mosquito bite.]

He heard “system” was talking about something again, but his mind was not clear yet. His mind was muddled from starvation and was now slowly becoming clear. He then realized he was full and decided to stop eating.

‘Seriously, despite the amount of food I eat, why does it appear it was never ending?’

He watched the living thing’s structure moved and became flat. He recognized it must have dropped to the ground and might have been killed by him. However, why does it appear the food he had just eaten came from that thing…?

‘Don’t tell me?’

‘I just eat a whole living thing? But how could I do that? That thing is so huge!’

‘No, No. It’s impossible. That thing is clearly alive, but somehow… He should be sleeping now. I should not interrupt him.’

[The system finds out that the blood the host has consumed contains an element that will greatly benefit the host.]

[Does the host want to learn the skill analysis and digestion? Yes/No]

At this moment, Isaac’s mind turned blank, and his flapping wings suddenly stopped. He immediately dropped to the ground, but for some reason, Isaac felt no pain from it. His mind continued to revolve from his past memories, while his emotions slowly built up.

It was an extreme emotion of happiness.

After all, he finally confirmed that the system that accompanied him from the time he was dead, who had been talking non-stopped in a monotonous tone, was similar to the Great Sage of Remaru.

Isaac was so excited to receive an answer that he failed to reply to the system’s question.

“Are you the Sage?!”
