Clinton’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. ‘What the f*ck?!’
Clinton was so shocked by what his miserable undead system just showed him at this moment that his skull was almost trembling.
‘D-d-did my strength attribute just increase?’
Clinton asked the question in his mind not because of the notification of the system, rather because of the sensation that just went through his skeleton body.
As an athlete in his previous life, he had ample experience with working out in the gym.
When a newbie decided to start going to the gym, for the first few days of working out, the newbie would experience rapid growth in his muscles and body accompanied by some pain as his body tried to adapt to the new experience.
This did not mean that the newbie’s muscles suddenly became twice as strong or twice as sturdy, it was just minor growth but that minor growth in power was already enough to induce such a reaction in his body.
Clinton knew that experience very well. That sensation, he was familiar with it and it was what enabled him to tell the experience that he just felt apart.
What if, going to the gym, your strength was suddenly doubled due to a single workout session?
It was a ridiculous thought but if somehow, inexplicable, something like that happened, Clinton knew that he would feel exactly as he just felt a moment ago.
As for the reason why he felt so?
Clinton felt like his strength truly just doubled!
Clinton didn’t speculate about it, the suspense would kill him, not when he had an easy way to confirm.
Without hesitation, he crosschecked with the miserable undead system again, accessing his user status.

“…”
“…”
“…..!”
Clinton’s skeleton jaws hanged open in shock.
‘F*ck! The free attribute points really can be assigned to my attributes!’
‘F*ckkkk!’
‘F*ck! I definitely didn’t see that coming!’
At this moment, Clinton felt on top of the world as the realization and implications of what he just discovered settled in his head.
‘Does that mean, with enough free attribute points, I can continue getting stronger infinitely?’
At this moment, he felt like bursting into maniacal laughter like a villain. It would be so fitting for his current situation.
And then, he started thinking ahead.
‘These free attribute points, how do I get more of them?’
‘I got my first free attribute points by unlocking a utility class,’ he rubbed his skeleton chin in deep thought. ‘Can I unlock more utility classes?’
‘Are there even more utility classes? Surely, there should be others, right?’
‘Besides, getting utility classes, is that the only way to get free attribute points?’
At this moment, Clinton’s head geared into overdrive as he thought up numerous scenarios similar to unlocking a utility class where he could theoretically get free attribute points from.
In the end though, he managed to get over his excitement and calmed down.
It was after he calmed down that he remembered something, he remembered that he still had 0.5 unused free attribute points.
Clinton was overjoyed.
At this moment, he wanted nothing more than to go outside out of his hideout under the roots of the tree to test out his new strength but he managed to curb his excesses.
‘The free attribute points are priceless; I need to use them wisely’.
Despite how valuable the free attribute points were, in the end, Clinton had no intentions of hoarding them.
He needed power, and this was an easy way to get power.
He was definitely going to use them.
The question was, which of his attributes should he use the remaining 0.5 free attribute points on?
‘After leveling up, my attributes increase at intervals, including the vitality attribute yet my health points didn’t increase with this’.
‘I guess this means that my vitality attribute does not affect my health points, I think it affects my defense instead’.
‘Higher defense should mean lesser damage from enemy attacks which would safeguard my health points better and in extension my life’.
‘Increasing the speed attribute should increase my combat power too’.
‘Increasing my mind attribute, I don’t concretely know its benefits yet’.
After analyzing all 4 of his attributes, deliberating on which one to channel the remaining free attribute points to, Clinton fell into a dilemma but it didn’t linger for long. He soon arrived at an analysis.
‘I need to survive, and to survive, I need power’.
‘Power directly correlates to my strength attribute. But 100 power and 0 defense won’t mean much when I meet an opponent as strong as I am’.
‘Strength and defense, I need to strike a balance between them’.
‘Afterall, my defense is what enabled me to outlast these monsters while fighting against them’.
And with that, he arrived at his decision.

Compared to just minutes ago, at this moment, Clinton felt vastly more powerful. Deciding to use his head was indeed the right decision.
More than satisfied, Clinton no longer wasted time as he was already exhausted. A few seconds later, he fell into the cool embrace of sleep.
Hours later, Clinton woke up again refreshed.
Immediately after waking up, he crawled out of the roots of the decaying tree and after reassembling his skeleton body, he could feel his increased raw strength better.
Clinton grinned. ‘It feels good to make my power grow’.
And then, focusing on the materials that he already procured before time, he started project creating his 3rd type of weapon, a bow and arrow.
This time, Clinton spent over an hour on the project.
Creating a bow and arrow was far harder than he expected.
Another 30 minutes later, a glum skeleton stared at the bow before him that seemed to be suffering from some chronic disease even as the miserable undead system lit up the next moment with a notification.

Chapter 74: War Realm [9]
The fire had burned down to soft embers. The cold air of the War Realm crept into the ravine, brushing across rock, steel, and bone. A silence hung between the trio; not tense, but heavy. Weighted with unspoken truths and shared survival.Clinton had returned from his expedition to the territory of the Dreadjaw Tribe alive, and he revealed everything to them. That was what caused this tense silence between them after the initial argument. But there was something else in the tension, a truth hidden behind layers of blood and race.Clinton broke the silence.“We need to talk”.Vaelin didn’t move. Garrick looked up from the blade he was tending but said nothing.Clinton’s voice was quiet. “I’ve been patient. I didn’t ask questions when I should’ve. But now, I want to know”. He looked at them. “Why are you two after me? Why me? You didn’t just stumble onto my trail. You were tracking me. From the Monster Domain”.The die was cast. And now, there was no going back. This is the conversation
Chapter 73: War Realm [8]
Night cloaked the ravine in stillness, the fire Vaelin had managed to conjure flickering low in the ring of stone.Garrick sat near it, sharpening his blade with steady strokes, though his muscles remained coiled, ever ready. Vaelin stood nearby, arms crossed, gazing into the shadows beyond the ridge as though expecting monsters to crawl free of the dark. When Clinton returned, neither man stirred, but both took notice. He stepped into the firelight, quiet as ever, though something about his presence had changed. His gait wasn’t rushed or cautious. Rather, it was exposed, like someone who had walked through fire and returned with answers.“You’re alive,” Garrick said flatly, glancing up from his blade. “That’s a good start”.Vaelin’s eyes narrowed. “What did they say?”Clinton sat down beside the fire, letting the flickering warmth lick at his bones. “The chieftain, Grumak Skullspliter, knows I’m from another level”.The Human and Elf looked at him sharply.Clinton shrugged. “He calle
Chapter 72: War Realm [7]
The Dreadjaw encampment was chaos carved into order. Rows of tents made from beast hides and bone stretched along the uneven valley floor, surrounded by spikes, glyph wards, and pits lined with iron-tipped stakes.Fire burned at every corner, warriors sparred in blood-soaked rings, and the drums of war thundered endlessly. The stench of sweat, blood, and magic tainted the air.Clinton walked through it all, led by the shaman. All eyes turned to him, the skeleton cloaked in tattered robes, marked by silence and aura. Some hissed, some snarled, some even dropped to a crouch, unsure whether to pounce or kneel. But none attacked. The presence of the shaman warded them, for now. They reached the center of the encampment. There, a crude throne carved from the ribcage of a mountain wyrm loomed atop a raised stone platform. There sat the chieftain.DING!~----~[You have encountered Grumak Skullsplitter, Chieftain of the Dreadjaw Tribe, one of the 5 Orcish Tribes of the War Realm!][Level: 30]
Chapter 71: War Realm [6]
“I’ll do it”.Silence.A few moments later. “You sure?” Garrick asked.Clinton gave a hollow laugh. “I’m already a dead man in a world that hates me. What’s another risk?”Clinton was about to move on but as soon as a sudden mischievous thought entered his head, he couldn’t help it. Looking at the Elf and Human, a smile crept up his face which in his skeleton face only looked eerie. He grinned. “You know, I was a human once”.Garrick looked at him sharply, then he muttered coldly. “Good joke”.Clinton chuckled. “Take it any way you want, but that’s the truth”.“Besides, what’s so hard to accept? This skeleton, is it not that of a human?” He pointed at himself.Garrick looked at him coldly. “Skeletons are undead, hideous monsters of the World of Dark. You and your kin were created from the darkness. Even if you came from the remains of a human, the original soul is gone and resting in Heaven”.“So, no, you’re no human skeleton. You’re an undead”.“So serious”. Clinton chuckled.Convers
Chapter 70: War Realm [5]
After Clinton’s first cold lessons in the ravine with his teacher, Vaelin Duskwhisper, while he had a rest to recover from the exertion, Garrick finally brought up a new conversation. They couldn’t escape it, it was a conversation that they would have now or later. So, the human mercenary brought it up now. With a calm and even look on his face, he looked at them. “How do we move on from here?”The Elven assassin and undead skeleton looked up at him.Vaelin answered. “What do you mean?”Garrick looked at him. “This Orcish tribe”. He paused for a few moments, taking a dark look at the top of the ravine. “Obviously, we can’t go that way. We don’t have what it takes to beat that guy, and we won’t have it in a long time”.“And staying in one place is not an option either. Staying in one location in a realm we know so little about is a recipe for disaster”.“I agree”. Vaelin nodded.Garrick took a deep breath. “So, the only way to go is forward”.“From what we’ve observed about those Orcs
Chapter 69: War Realm [4]
The ravine, jagged and narrow, curled like a scar across the mountainside. It was brutal terrain; sharp rocks, thorn-rooted bushes, and the occasional growl from something unseen deeper in the shadows, but it was quiet. And more importantly, it was safe.Safe enough.Garrick slumped against the wall, chest heaving from the exertion of hauling two people through a nightmare.Vaelin sat nearby, cross-legged, arms folded tightly across his blood-caked armor. He hadn’t said a word since they stopped, just staring into the cold wind, silent and unreadable. There was a subtle tension between them. Afterall, they were yet to address the topic of previously kidnapping the skeleton.Clinton? He perched in the corner like a gargoyle, skeletal frame motionless, faint blue frost still wafting off his bones from the magic he had unleashed earlier. The battle with Gor’Zhul had nearly killed them… again. And yet somehow, they were still breathing. Or at least, two of them were. Finally, Vaelin broke
