It was them—the same men he had seen before. He watched as they offloaded a box from a nearby house and loaded it into a chariot.

“Are these men the ones you have suspected?” Thomas asked.

Jordan nodded. “They’re the ones I told you about.”

Thomas chuckled. “Okay then, let’s take them down, it’s been long I have broken some bones.”

“No,” Jordan replied sharply, shifting his gaze to Thomas who was beside him. “Let’s wait and see where they’re taking the goods.”

Thomas gave a small nod. “Alright, we do it your way.”

They crouched in silence, observing as the three men finished loading the chariot.

“What could be inside those boxes?” Jordan wandered in thoughts, watching intently.

The men climbed onto the chariot and rode off. Jordan and Thomas quietly tailed them, staying hidden in the shadows. Eventually, the chariot came to a stop in a more secluded area, the area was around a rocky location, and at the front some distance away, there’s a bridge that led to a more dense forest. The me

Fiona didn’t yet know what Jordan wanted to say, but she had a hunch that his words might expose something that would make Sonia fill in info to whomever had paid her. Sonia was smart, and Fiona was sure she had already noticed something suspicious in the city and yet decided to act for the money rather than protect the city. Sonia could do anything for the money, especially her client paid a huge amount for it. “Sonia, let’s get back to business, we ain’t done with our discussion,” Fiona said firmly.Sonia’s expression shifted. “Okay, so what exactly do you want me to do—or how do you want me to help?”“I want you to give me the energy detector. With that, I can track the dark energy myself. I think no matter how the enemy is trying to conceal the dark energy, the energy detector will somehow pick up a track,” Fiona requested.Sonia chuckled softly before replying, “The energy detector costs a lot. But because you’re my friend, I’ll give you a ten percent discount for it if you wou

The Casting Grounds was the main point of concern—and the exact thing Fiona had discovered along the years and she had shared it with, Sonia. The casting grounds marked a focal point between the Demon Realms and the Cultivators’ world, more like a gate way, but have tended to remain dormant if it’s not been Tempered. The places where you can find the casting grounds were extremely rare, almost out of reach, but when found, they acted as conduits where energy from the underworld leaked through, attracting and allowing demons to leak out through the loop hole. If the casting grounds were tampered with, demons from other realms could seep out—and this was precisely why demons had been attacking Sinclair’s borders years ago. Clara, Jordan’s grandmother, had fought against them, protecting the land from the shadows, and it was clear that she didn’t find out the reason for the sudden rampages of the Demons, but as time went on she later found out. “I’ve scavenged around that exact spot,

“Wow, where did you get these rare creatures?” she asked, clearly amazed.“It’s a gift from the Southern Sea tribes,” Fiona replied.“These horses could fetch a fortune on the black market, would you mind selling one of them,” Sonia muttered, stepping closer to Sage, the golden horse that had captivated her attention.“Hey, lady, hold up. What the heck are you doing? Trying to weigh me for a price?” Sage complained inwardly, stepping backwards. Jordan could hear the horse’s thoughts through their neuro-bond. Jordan scoffed. “Selling you wouldn’t mind relieving me of the stress of your stubbornness.” Sage shoots a glare at Jordan. Sonia reached out and touched Sage. “Wow... incredible,” she breathed, clearly stunned. Then she turned toward Fiona. “The horses can’t go any further. No animals are allowed past this point—they’ll have to wait here.”“Oh, that would be good, hehehe,” Jordan thought to himself with a sigh of relief. “At least I won’t have to deal with that crabby voice in

Soon, Fiona and Jordan reached a distinct building constructed almost entirely of glass sleek, reflective, and somehow transparent. Inside, various tools, war ammo gear, pendants, and even stones of different types glowed faintly with what seemed to be magical energy. Each item was tagged with a price, like artifacts on display in a futuristic gallery.“Is this the place you were talking about?” Jordan demanded shifting his gaze to Fiona. The overwhelming beauty of the design engulfed his thoughts, and at some point, he couldn’t stop looking at the environment, his eyes were so trapped in the beauty that it almost made it impossible for him to believe. “Yup,” Fiona replied casually, looking at Jordan. She knew Jordan was stunned, and all he was seeing since from the moment he got into the black market was unlike anything he had ever seen. They stood at the entrance of the glass building which seemed like a skyscraper, and just then, an iron ejected from the door, then glowed out a

Jordan blinked at the horse, and was stunned. Not only was Sage talking, but he was giving orders too.Without waiting for Jordan, Sage trotted ahead and passed between the stones, disappearing in an instant. “Wait… doesn’t the horse need a pass card too?” Jordan muttered in surprise. “Or… does the pass card not apply to animals?” Jordan continued, before letting out a sigh and stepping into the stones himself, and just in an instant, he passed into the other side. The scene that unfolded before Jordan got him dazzled, he felt his eyes twitching.Towering pillars stretched skyward, and countless creatures roamed about—some unlike anything he had ever seen. Among them, a flaming phoenix flapped its wings in the air, glowing with heat and majesty.“Ryan! Over here!” Fiona’s voice rang out from a distance waving her hands in gesture at Jordan, so he could see her among the crowds.Jordan turned and spotted Fiona standing with Sage and the Starweaver horse. He walked over to them.“Why

“And secondly,” Fiona added, then continued. “the market can only be accessed by those who have a pass card to the veil.”“Pass card?” Jordan asked, squinting his eyes. “Yes, a pass card,” Fiona confirmed. “What kind of pass card is that? What’s it used for? Why would anyone need a pass card just to enter a market?” Jordan asked. “In this case, a pass card is the only thing that allows your body to pass through the veil to the other side, the market is protected by a veil, to make it more blunt, think of a shield, or something that’s more dense, to prevent those with less interest from entering. Having the card means you must be wealthy or have something you have to offer for sale in the market,” Fiona explained.“So, a veil was placed to control who comes in and who goes out?” Jordan asked.“Yes Ryan, you’re already getting the point on what I am trying to explain. That’s exactly the purpose of the veil,” Fiona replied, nodding with a proud smile.“Then what about me? I don’t have
