Encounter at the recovery pool

The position he took was one he adapted from back in the palace, he wasn’t sure if it would make any difference now but it was one he usually used when he wanted to meditate or when the superiors entered seclusion, it helped in calming the mind and soothing the body in order to increase concentration.

After about half an hour Damian began to see the outline of the objects in the room it was then he realized how hard it was to actually use the ‘Eyes of darkness’ it was probably because of Lucifer he could easily use the skill last time, but what surprised him more was that he could see in all direction a perfect 360 view and even better he could see through some items, though it was only partially like through the closet in his room he could see the outlines of some clothes though it appeared blurry, he knew it was because he just learnt the skill, perhaps in a while his would be able to see the through the entire house.

“There’s more to this eyes of darkness than the name implies” Damian said to himself a bit depressed about the duration he had to use eyes of darkness for, it sucked not being able to see colours, he stood up taking a step forward he immediately felt his body go numb and he found himself unable to control his body and his view slanting till all that was in sight was the floor. He had gone unconscious.

“Do you think he’ll be awake by now” Kale asked Sofia, they had both been expecting Damian and Luci for a few hours, but Kale’s eagerness or obsession was driving her nuts he had asked this same question about ten time in less than half an hour, he had even suggested they went up to go check up on him but she denied him saying it would be improper or disrespectful but all Kale was concerned about was the potential he saw in Damian, he still didn’t know why Damian’s Genesis (Luci) backed out of the duel, yes Luci was right when he said he was holding back but Luci was holding on just right, right?

Kale believed with enough practice Damian and Sofia could make it into the HGA, it was what he had been training her for, for about a year yet he still had fears she wouldn’t be cut for it, last he heard the entrance exam this year had been altered and worst of all they were only selecting 18 candidates. The HGA had one of the smallest forces but was still undeniably among the top lone organizations, lone organizations were the one that barely concerned themselves with the activities of earth only concerning themselves with their own objectives often accepting missions from influential individuals or other organizations. Even with the HGA being a lone organization, rumors had it they had equal strength with the biggest organization on earth- Ozai.

But compared to Ozai, the world’s strongest and largest organization, a lot had more faith in Ozai than lone organizations.

“Dad, I think we should go up and check on him now,” Sofia finally said. They had been sitting at the dining table for hours now, and if they continued waiting, breakfast would pass them by. She too had begun to feel something was up.

Kale nodded eagerly in agreement, he had been waiting for the kid for a long time already, Sofia stood up and proceeded up the stairs in the direction of Damian’s room Kale followed closely behind her.

“Damian, are you up?” Sofia asked after two light knocks on the door to his room, after a while of waiting with no response the wary feeling in her only seemed to increase, she finally decided to enter and take a look herself “I’m coming in” she announced.

Opening the door Kale and Sofia were met with the view of Damian laying face first on the floor, Sofia immediately rushed to Damian’s side with Kale just a step behind her.

“He seems to be low on energy, extremely low” Kale said after observing Damian’s body with just a glance before Sofia could even check his pulse, “Stay back, I’m taking him to the island’s recovery pool”.

“I’m coming with you” Sofia immediately retorted as she stood up.

“Meet me there” Kale replied immediately as he disappeared from her sight with Damian, he didn’t have the time to argue with his daughter so he just concentrated on helping the person he was expecting much from.

Sofia left the room too and proceeded on her way to her destination, the recovery pool wasn’t all that far from the Heart manor, in fact they happened to own half of the pool, it’s just full acquisition of the pool was not possible considering the owner of the other half of the pool was their only rival on the island, the Silver dragons, the Silver dragons and the Heart family had been at each other’s necks for generations and the conflict had never been settled till date, they both owned martial art halls but in a way it was just for show, the main purpose of the martial hall was the competition between the two families, but ever since the disappearance of a certain expert and multiple others, the Heart martial hall had declined significantly, both families live on the island with each of them owning half the island.

Arriving at her destination Sofia did her best to locate her father, the pool was actually quite massive spanning about a few hundred metres long and wide, quite a pool right? The Heart family naturally owned half but with the disappearance of the experts of the Heart and Claire gone the Silver dragons naturally increased their portion leaving the Heart manor with just roughly a quarter of the entire pool, but what could Kale do about it, he and Sofia were actually the only ones left in the Heart manor.

“What’s the daughter of the Heart looking for here” a few teenagers just arriving said out loud causing others who hadn’t noticed Sofia’s presence yet to spot her.

Sofia realizing the group were probably out for trouble tried to locate her father as quick as possible as the group gradually approached her, they comprised mainly of boys wearing a similar type of training attire Sofia usually wore except etched on the left chest side of the attire and the back was the drawing of a mighty looking silver dragon.

“You know we were actually asked to go over to the Heart’s manor to inquire about the upcoming duel” one of them spoke to Sofia, Sofia finally realizing she couldn’t get away from them as she had already been surrounded turned to look at the person speaking.

“Don’t tell me you forgot, the martial hall duel for the recovery pool” the person spoke again and Sofia’s eyes widened as she finally understood what they were speaking about.
