Double Agent: Stuck Between the Villain and Protagonist Camp

Wen Yuci

After a moment of silence, Axl picked up the wine glass from the table and drained it.

"Damn it," he muttered under his breath.

He walked over to the large bed in the room and lifted the bedsheet to reveal Wen Yuci, tied up and lying face down in the middle of the bed. Axl had placed her there, since hotel beds usually do not have anything underneath the mattress.

"Okay, it's safe now. You can come out," Axl said to Wen Yuci.

She slowly emerged from the bed, using her smooth white arms to struggle and grab the cornet of the bed and pulled her body to get out from there. Axl had previously used his dagger to cut the ropes that had bound her arms and legs, freeing her from captivity. However, before he could give her further instructions, Long Tao and his gang arrived, and Axl quickly shoved Wen Yuci into the bed to hide her.

Wen Yuci crawled out of bed, smoothing out her clothes and skirt, but her eyes never left Axl. However, Axl's attention was not on her, as he was still thinking about the scenario when Ye Feng and the police arrived here.

"Why did you save me?" Wen Yuxi asked with a cold voice.

Wen Yuci's voice caught Axl's attention. He couldn't help but admire her perfect, slender figure, just like the heroines in the novels he had read in the past. Axl's gaze drifted down to her skirt, noticing a slit in it due to her being sandwiched in it. He couldn't help but take a look at her smooth, white thighs and let out a sigh.

'The heroines are still the heroines,' Axl thought to himself.

Their beauty, figures, and charm are truly unparalleled. Just the small slit in Wen Yuci's skirt was enough to make his hormones surge. Fortunately, Axl had a strong mentality, otherwise, he might have already pounced on her.

Axl stood up causing Wen Yuci to flinch and step back automatically. He then stepped forward and took of his suit  causing Wen Yuci to become more alert. After Axl approached her and stood in front of her, she was already screaming, but to her surprise, Axl wrapped his suit around Wen Yuci's waist. Wen Yuci watched Axl's movement and subconsciously wanted to back away, but in the end she didn't make such a movement. Instead, he still looked straight at Axl.

While wrapping up her suit, Axl said, "I am not saving you, I am saving myself."

"Save myself?" Wen Yuci asked, puzzled.

But Axl remained silent, and in the end, she still said, "No matter what, I still want to thank you. Long Tao dared to kidnap me! I will make him pay the price!"

"Stupid," Axl said in one breath.

"Huh? What did you say?" Wen Yuci squinted her eyes and asked. As the managing director of a big company, known for her beautiful appearance and prestigious background, Wen Yuci was accustomed to being respected and taken seriously. No one dared call her stupid to her face.

"I said you were stupid," Axl said lazily.

Hearing such blunt remarks, Wen Yuci became angry. "Why?" she snarled.

"You're the one who called the police, right?" Axl asked back instead of answering.

Wen Yuci nodded subconsciously.

"Then you are stupid!" Axl declared.

"I'm not stupid!" Wen Yuci snapped. Inside her heart, she felt weird. Usually, she was very distant from strangers, but she didn't know why today she wanted to refute this man.

Axl only looked at her and felt amused. Is this what they called an ice queen heroine? He wondered why he found her more cute than anything else.

Seeing her angry expression, Axl decided to tell her, "Aren't you stupid? Long Tao has Long Sha and the Long family behind him, not to mention their background. Your family, even if it is powerful, is incomparable to Long's. Do you think you can make Long Tao enter the prison just because you called the police?"

After Axl finished speaking, Wen Yuci was stunned. He was right! Even if the Long family appeared to have turned a new leaf and was doing everything legally, based on the rumors she had heard, they still firmly held the underground forces in the state's capital.

Her family's strength was still weaker compared to Long's. If she called the police, they would likely find a scapegoat, as they were experienced in dealing with law enforcement. Not only that, but she could face revenge from Long in the end.

"Phew..." Wen Yuci took a deep breath and calmed herself down. She had been angry and agitated due to her kidnapping, which had made her IQ drop so low that she had even forgotten about the people behind Long Tao.

But now that she thought about it again, she looked at Axl suspiciously. "Aren't you one of the Long Sha? Why are you helping me now?" she asked Axl seriously.

Axl felt a little amused by her sudden change in tone but still decided to answer. However, before  Axl opened his mouth to answer Wen Yuci's question, the door of the room suddenly burst open.

Startled, both of them turned their heads to see three uniformed police officers rushing in with their guns drawn to Axl.

"Freeze!" one of the officers shouted. "The people inside are not allowed to move, raise your hands up for me!"

As the policemen moved in to surround Axl, he calmly raised his hands and said, "Gentlemen, there's been a mistake. I'm innocent." However, the policemen did not lower their guns and remained on high alert. Behind them was a middle-aged man wearing a black suit, like a butler. He ran anxiously and looked at Wen Yuci worriedly, "Yuci, are you alright?"

Wen Yuci looked at her family's butler, and her expression softened. This butler was like an uncle to her. He had taken care of her when she was a kid, and her family was busy.

"Uncle Roman, I'm okay," Wen Yuci said.

Seeing that Wen Yuci was okay, Roman sighed in relief. However, suddenly he became angry and scanned the room. He immediately found Axl, who was besieged, and yelled, "Police officer, he was the one who kidnapped Miss Wen Yuci! Catch him quickly!"

"Oh, the protagonist's supporter... Roman," Axl looked at this guy with an interested expression. If he remembered correctly, this guy was the butler arranged to protect Wen Yuci. Since he had taken care of Wen Yuci since she was a kid, he basically already considered Wen Yuci as his own daughter.

"Interesting... protagonist, villain, heroine, and now the protagonist supporter," Axl thought. If he remembered correctly, later Roman became Ye Feng's ace card, as he would become his best fighter.
