Chapter 11 : Memory

After the oath is complete at the dining hall, he goes back to his room and immediately changes his clothes to the sleeping attired ones.

He then sat on his single coach near the window and read a storybook. His face was frowning as he keep reading through it.

'This.. '

The content of the book on his hand really messed up his already complicated mind. Even so, that event that happens during the dinner still wins above all.

'to think that I would rush my vow there'

Frankly speaking, he didn't really intend to make a vow there. Instead, he intended to make it a secret with only his family in his presence.

But, when he was there with all of those people around, he can't help but change his mind and proceed to make the vow there.

The vow he make at the time, in summary, had 3 points to be highlighted.

1. He will leave the mansion when he is 20

2. He won't ever be the heir nor the lord in this territory

3. He will only be Leon Forti as long as he is inside the territory.

Well, the third point is longer but, overall that was the content of the oath that he made at the time.

'well though my life was on the line, it didn't matter... I never intended to break any of it after all.'

Thought him so as he smiled slightly. He was lost in that ponders when suddenly.

Knock Knock*

He could hear someone knocking on his bedroom door. One voice then enters his ear at the time.

"Young master Leon, excuse my rudeness... I'm Rudy, your knight, would you allow me to come in???"

Leon glanced at the door as he heard clearly that the one coming was his knight.

sigh*

"haa.... yes .. you may come in"

In honesty he didn't want to meet anyone right now, yet, he still allowed that knight to come into his room, feeling forced.

He then removes the book from his hand and put it on the table next to the coach as the knight replies,

"then... excuse me."

The knight carefully opens the door and comes in. And during that time, Leon lean his back to the coach softly and close his eyes, as though he was sleeping.

Rudy who's already inside his room walks all the way to in front of Leon and slightly bows.

"I have something to report, young master Leon."

Rudy then stays quiet, waiting for permission to report from Leon. Leon who was closing his eyes could be heard breathing softly before saying,

"keep going."

'it's annoying that I need to put on this facade'

thought him while his mouth spouting different things. He opens his eyes slowly to see his knight in front of him while putting on a stoic expression.

The knight then says,

"Sir Richard say, it's as you guess, young master."

Leon flinched as he hears the knight's sentence.

And this is all because of the things that happening this afternoon.

His mind flashed into the thing that he had done before he goes to his room for changing his clothes to meet the Duke.

Earlier afternoon, at the garden. Before Leon talks to Kelt. While he swallowed his saliva as he was trying to observe his surrounding, he could taste it, a taste of iron inside his mouth and the smell of blood.

'There's blood inside my mouth...'

At the time, he had tried his best to not give away any emotion regarding it, but he can't shake the feeling that something is not right.

'did this owner's body weak or...'

So he decides to order Rudy who was the knight behind him at the time to secure the tea set and any food on the table and keep it safe while they are about to leave the garden.

While he conveys his words to Rudy, he also distracts Kelt into doing something else to ensure that his plan was not discovered.

'well I told Kelt to hurry and go to the Duke at the time so that Rudy could take it before anyone secure it but...'

~Sir Richard said, it's as you guess, young master~

'if Richard says that my guess was correct then... this will be tough... '

Leon's face is distorted as his mind is messed up. Rudy remains silent while observing Leon's expression.

'did he want it that much??'

Thought Rudy.

The reason why Rudy was thinking like that was actually because Leon had ordered him to convey a message to Richard and it was in metaphor context.

"Young master..."

"hmm"

Leon glanced at Rudy as he heard him call for him. He then makes a kind of face that asks him to speak out.

"there's something else sir Richard says."

"what is it?? hurry."

"The 'sugar' had been secure, young master could enjoy it at any time, he says..."

"haa...is that so....smirk*"

A wicked smile quickly appeared on Leon's face.

Rudy was a bit startled seeing it and he could feel his entire body cover up with goosebumps. He suddenly remembers the message that he was told to convey to Richard at the time.

'The tea from this afternoon was so good... that makes me wonder if they using some new kind of sugar?? if is it true, then.. could you please secure the 'sugar' for me.'

As Leon says that, he seems truly pleased. It make Rudy wonder, did the tea was that good.

'Well he did tell me to tell Richard like that, so that's mean, he really loves sugar that much??'

Rudy thought so when he see Leon's face at the moment.

'Should I buy him a lot of sugar'

As such, a misunderstanding between him and Leon thus deepen, while Leon on the other hand couldn't stop his lips from curving up.

He was really happy with the news.

'he really amazing... to secure this much... Richard...is indeed a great guy.'

Thought him as he glance at the book that was near him. A book that he encounters upon searching for his clothes to meet the Duke earlier afternoon.

Honestly speaking, in the novel that he read. There's no mention of any vow or promise Leon had towards the Duke and Duchess. So how can he knows about it?? has he received it through old Leon memories?? the answer is no.

To tell the truth. He didn't get any memories of this body's owner when he arrives in this body. That's why, the moment he realized he was in the world of novel, he felt weird, because he didn't receive any memories of this owner's body.

'Isn't we supposed to have the memory of the original body if we possess them??'

He had those kinds of thoughts before, but to his surprise, there's no such thing as memories flashing into his mind.

So to figure out some of the new things regarding this body owner, he decides to find out any clues that may trigger the memory to come out.

And so, while choosing the clothes for Duke's meeting, he found old worn-out story books behind the clothesline in his wardrobe.

'this must be a book Leon enjoys reading...'

was what he thought before deciding to take a peek inside the book for a moment while changing his clothes and through it,

he found out,

Stunned*

The book that he thought was a storybook at first,

'It's not a storybook!!!!'

Turn out, it was actually a diary that had the cover of a storybook.

'it's a freakin diary!!!'

Thus, he read the content of the diary a little bit and find out about the vow or promise that Leon make with Duchess and the Duke.

And more importantly, he also found out about.
