The next place Serex visited after leaving the Institute was Riven Enterprise. He strolled in with eyes peeking at every corner searching for his boss. He was already aware of Jace's workaholic nature, owing to the fact that he always kept his business first. Perhaps that was why he refused to help him. On second thought, he noticed that everything was running smoothly as usual, which led him to believe that his boss had been working hard rather than looking for ways to use his influence to help him. In the V-8 laboratory Veyra was going around checking the specimens in the glass chamber while Vira stood watching her. The latter had made up her mind not to speak to her unless she was being spoken to. Her trial at starting up a conversation had failed multiple times, so she figured it was best to keep quiet for a while.As Veyra strolled to each of the chambers, she took note of each specimen’s recovery, health status and the quick healing around their head where the operation had taken place. Ryker and Serex walked in silence till they got to the main exit. Serex paused, staring intently at the door handle. Ryker halted behind the man, waiting for him to make his next move. All of a sudden, Serex turned to face him. The latter's eyes widened in surprise as he noticed Serex open his mouth to speak. Just then, he closed it back and turned towards the door. Ryker knew the man wanted to tell him something, but just couldn't. As he watched Serex walk out of the building, he could only stare from behind. He knew Serex was planning something out of line, but there was nothing he could do, except hope that things would get better for him. When he turned to head back to his post, thoughts of his sister filled his head again. Was she coping in Draxion? He could not tell, not until he set his eyes on her. Vira sat at a little cafe shop situated a few metres outside the institute with a mug in hand. The liquid inside was hot, so she wrapped her hands around it to keep them warm. After Veyra had left with Ryker, she had come down to this place to seek solace, something she needed at the moment. However, she found it hard to feel at ease, not with her racing thoughts and mind.
