Kai was absolutely stunned, he had no idea what was happening and who this man that was calling himself his grandfather was.
“I’ve been…” The old man’s words got stuck in his throat when his gaze fell upon Kai’s blood-covered body, his teeth gritted in anger and his expression twisted with fury. He was going to ask Kai who did this to him but he scanned the area and was immediately able to deduce that the gang members were the ones responsible for attacking Kai. He was a ball of pure anger, rage pulsed through his veins and his blood quickened with the raw anger that shot through him. There’s no way he’s going to let a bunch of thugs go after doing this to his grandson. With a wave of his hand, the old man signaled his bodyguards, who swiftly surrounded the gang members. The gang members were trembling in fear, they knew really well that they dared not resist or run away. When Jake had hired them, he didn’t tell them that Kai was the grandson of a powerful person. Their legs shook in fear and they all swallowed hard as they waited for the fate that awaited them. The old man and the men in black were too scary and well-trained for a small gang of thugs. The men in black launched into a ruthless assault, mercilessly beating the gang members. Their screams of agony resonated through the air and their throes of pain were vivid. They stood no chance whatsoever against the assaults, they couldn’t even defend themselves and all they could do was cry and beg for mercy. “I’m. We—” Kai collapsed on the ground, he was unable to remain standing and the feeling of weakness that took over him was overwhelming, his heart pounded really hard against his chest. He closed his eyes and waited for what was going to happen next but despite the pain and weakness he was feeling, he also sensed an unfamiliar force slowly restoring his strength. The pain, fatigue and weakness he felt slowly started to fade away and minutes later, the gang leader, bruised and battered, was dragged before Kai, his face swollen beyond recognition. The thug was shaking, fear, stark and vivid shone in his eyes while Kai stood high above him, his presence accompanied by a palpable sense of raw power. Kai gave off an intimidating, merciless aura. His energy was dark, intense and utterly ruthless and even though he hadn’t done anything to the thug, the thug was already yielding to the immense power. “Who sent you to kill me?” Kai sneered, his aura was one of unrelenting ferocity, exuding a sense of raw intimidating energy and the bruised Thug only trembled. “Was it Jake Benson?!” Kai demanded, emanating an aura of unyielding strength and dominance, the air around him was so different that even the thug leader couldn’t take it anymore. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry, please spare me and I promise that our path will never cross.” The thug bowed his head to Kai, barely able to speak as he pleaded, his words falling out of his mouth as if he was eating something really hot. “Please forgive me!” He pleaded but Kai’s eyes had already turned red in anger, “It was Jake, He sent us to silence you and told us that you were weak.” “Jake Benson was the one who told us that you were getting in his way and we should take you out,” The thug leader confessed, “Spare me, please.” He quickly added, not daring to look Kai in the eyes. Kai trembled with rage, anger rising in him like a tide; he went cold with fury and breathless with utter rage that almost pushed him to the edge. All he could think about at the moment was how to rest not just these thugs but also the Benson family, a lesson that they wouldn’t forget for as long as they lived. The old man, however, remained impassive, his eyes devoid of sympathy as he glanced down at the gang members. He felt nothing but hatred for them, how dare they try to hurt his grandson. His expression was cold, his glare was so piercing that the thugs could feel it. “You think you can touch my grandson and get away with it?” The man said coldly, he didn’t lose composure or act out of anger as a small, wicked smile that sent chills down the spine of the gang took over his mouth. With a snap of his finger, the men in black assembled behind him while one of them hurriedly came to stand beside him. “Get rid of all of them and make their deaths look like an accident.” The old man said coldly without caring. The thugs, when they heard this, all fell to their knees at once. None of them wanted to die, they regretted ever crossing paths with Kai and even hated the Bensons. “Please don’t do this,” the leader begged as he kept hitting his head on the ground to atone for his mistake, “I’ll do anything you want, anything, I don’t want to die.” “We will leave the country, you’d never see us again, please spare us. We’ll also make sure to cut ties with the Bensons, we’ll go off the radar.” The gang members begged for their lives but the one man’s mind had been made up already and nothing could shake the decision he had made. While the gangsters begged for their lives, Kai was left in awe and shock by the old man’s ruthless nature, even his eyes were dark and conveyed nothing. Kai could tell that this man who calls himself his grandfather was not just an important person but also a very powerful man, even more powerful than the Benson’s. He radiated an energy that made it clear that whenever he walked into a noisy room, the room went silent and everyone stood up for him. “Let’s pick up where we left off.” The old man said, his expression softening at once as he turned to look at Kai. There was a look of calmness, adoration and gladness in the old man’s eyes. Looking at Kai caused his cold demeanor to melt into one of quiet excitement. “I— I still can’t believe my eyes, you really are alive.” The old man said in a calm, yet emotional voice. His eyes also glistened with the tears of joy that he was desperately holding back. He had come face to face with his grandson after years upon years of searching all over for him. “My name is Fabio Grant, I am your grandfather, and as surprising as this next information might seem, you, Kai, are the sole heir to the Grant family’s vast fortune.”

It’s been more than three weeks since Kai had almost lost his fight against Drakarion and while training was going well, Fabio hadn’t told him that he was strong enough yet.“I want you to be prepared for anything because today… today, I will decide if you’re strong enough to return to the estate.” Fabio said and Kai nodded. He had spent almost a month refining his skills, trying to get stronger and doing everything in his power to see to it that no matter what happened, he wouldn’t be completely useless in battle.“Today, according to what Catherine saw, you’ll be facing the terrain itself, that’s… something.” Fabio added and Kai could see the hesitation, he could tell that Fabio was worried. He knew that if Fabio could stop him from facing the terrain, he would but he couldn’t, not when conquering the terrain is the one thing he needed to do to prove that he could face thousands of men, even millions of them.Kai had struggled against Drakarion and while it was one of the most diffi

Wait for Fabio and Kai? Don’t you think that if Catherine

The storm inside her cracked open and Teresa could barely breathe as the only thing she let out was a scream that tore through the estate like a bolt of unholy lightning, and in that moment, her mana shattered its last thread of restraint. She was trembling, the room felt cold. Too cold even for her but she could barely leave, she was unable to help herself up and walk out of the room with Clarissa’s body still on the floor.“I KILLED HER. She’s dead because of me!” Teresa’s voice was sharp and sounded almost like a screech as she screamed, it was as though she was in over her head, as if she was going mad.Her eyes were so wide that her eyeballs looked like they were about to fall off the sockets and blood drew closer in each eye as Teresa screamed. The air trembled, the walls groaned and the floor beneath her pulsed with ancient inscriptions that hadn’t seen the light of day in centuries. Her body arched violently off the ground, hair fanning around her like an elemental crown, her

Meanwhile, Teresa, she could feel the stabilization and a sudden warmth engulfed her from within, she could almost feel how hard everyone was working when she couldn’t do anything. Her eyes had rolled so far back that she could feel it in her skull and even though she wanted it to stop, she wanted to snap out of this too and bring her mana under control, she couldn’t.“I have seen this before, how could I forget? How arrogant have I gotten?” She thought to herself as tears slipped down her cheeks and her mind drifted off to that day.It felt like a day like this, it was also raining on that day and an irregularity had happened, everyone had depended on her to do something and yet she had failed them.“I was training Catherine to be stronger, am I even strong myself?” She thought to herself as her head and mind replayed that day all over again.FLASHBACK.The air was too still and it was so creepy that it sent chills coursing down not just her spine but that of everyone else that had b

I’m doing it.” She said happily and Teresa didn’t say anything as she only nodded, beads of sweat clustered on Catherine’s forehead but she wasn’t running out of breath.Teresa could tell that she was wearing herself out and that was why she had gotten the healing magic ready until she was sure that Catherine no longer needed it.“Keep it still… hold on.
