Maeson pulled his sister behind him and gripped his heavy black bag. The thousands of glass tubes stood open like hollow graves. The ancient warriors walked out with slow, steady steps. Their skin looked like gray stone, and their eyes burned with the same harsh purple light he saw on the mountain peak. They did not speak. They did not scream.
