Amidst the chaos, Kenji was left on the vast ground, trapped in the chaos, when a sudden sound and flicker of light appeared above. It left Kenji pale, sweat already running down his temples as he looked at the whole scene and turned around in disbelief.

It was far too strange to him. This wasn't something he had ever heard of or seen at the demand of a Mystery System. Thoughts washed through him again, wondering if the previous chaos of his party members was connected to the grants of this System, or perhaps...

Then he shook his head abruptly. "No, no... I can't be sure. I need to confirm first. If I was somehow healed by the help of this unknown system, then that's a good sign, but I still can't tell with all of this happening right now." He thought.

"What is this now? Hey, w... what is this pla..." His last words came out in a trembling tone as he tried to hold his confidence. A cracking sound from the wall caught his attention, followed by a sneering growl. The noise sounded like that of a wolf, but it was all coming from rocks reshaping themselves like some monsters he had never seen before.

Soon standing before him were two slight rock statues with weird shapes that covered their bodies like armored plates, wielding a broad rock sword and hammer. And, on the other hand, four wolves with red glassy eyes were already sneering in growling fury, ready to unleash an attack within seconds.

"Ahh... Shit, is this some kind of a death game or death sentence, huh?! Answer me!" He shouted in fury at the vast cave, hoping to hear from the System.

Then the interface of the hovering system panel appeared again in his eyesight.

«I will advise you follow the instructions.»

«Do you wish to open gift box package?»

[Yes] / [No]

The whole set of words felt entirely clunky to Kenji at a moment like this. He was caught off guard in disbelief and asked himself annoyingly, "Shit, what does a gift package have to do with a situation like this? I have no ability to start with, hah!"

The System hovering above him chimed in its thrilling notification: *Chrum*. But the words remained the same, as if it wanted him to choose. Kenji had no choice, seeing the wolves already taking a few steps from the distance in growls.

He clicked directly at the bold word [YES], hoping to see what came next in a terrifying glance.

The lime green box appeared in his palm, radiating like a visual translucent kit that opened in fragments to reveal what was beneath its hold.

Before him was a carved-shaped bottle in violet color. It had a rare surface and base. On the other was a small tool, like a toy-shaped spear that came in curved edges from both sides, like a half-moon sculpture.

Kenji looked at it in a furious flair and couldn't hold back the grudge battling within him. He'd had enough of how the System had treated him, so he decided to pour out his whole mind against this bullshit!

But before he could speak, the text shifted again from the panel.

On the other hand, the System explained that the staff he was holding would become a battle staff when drawn into the air, but that it also had its own effects and limits to the force and power it possessed.

The Scurved Staff comes with a different potential upon each level up, and eventually grows with the true ability it holds along with Kenji. So perfectly, Kenji was a Level One user, the staff remained at the same level as him, having its own limits to what it truly possessed of its true source: 'Ashra'.

«Scurved Staff Light»

• Level: 1

• Attack: 10/1000 Max

• Essence reform: 1/100

• Skill: #Locked ???

• #Locked God Tier: «Level scurved staff, Essence reform to it's Max»

Kenji was confused at first, but honestly, he felt he had no time to make decisions or question the System now. To confirm this, he threw the curved staff slightly into the air above him, and to his surprise, it was just as the System explained. He held firmly to the staff; no time to examine its fine sculpture.

On the other hand was the violet bottle with a rare surface. He opened it, still in a terrified glance. Seeing the purple liquid from within, he gulped hard. As the monsters approached, this was no time to neglect, he thought. "Right now, believe whatever this system has to offer," echoed through his mind as he took a little sip in a sickening motion.

Right before his eyes, the System interface shifted with the same notified sound!

«Window Panel: Stat Opened »

Health: +5» 105

Agility: +5» 10

Vertality: +5» 8

Strength: +5» 10

Perception: +5» 15

Kenji was puzzled by what he was seeing. Each stat point had gotten increased by a chance of five extra points added to them after taking a little sip from the bottle. It was just as the System commanded.

But the shock didn't ease the terror twisting in his gut. His mind still rang loud and clear that he was an F-rank with no ability, and ahead of him were six monsters. He had never even slayed a common wolf before; all this time, he hid behind his party members whenever it was time for a raid. Meanwhile, he led them as a navigator through these caves.

But now he stood before all six... He clenched his other fist tighter, trying to regain composure.

"Hey, this isn't the kind of monsters we had face as a party member! Why is it different from the others? I need to be sure what level these creatures are!"

He knew he needed to ask the System for this so as not to make any drastic move, even if the System had granted him extra points and confirmed some of his initial thoughts.

Just then, the System echoed through his mind, and the hovering panel displayed before him.

«Chum»

"Shit, how am I supposed to kill such monsters if they can regenerate and the other has severe hit damage?" Kenji's eyes sparked with fury and curiosity as he asked aloud.

Kenji clenched his fist at his side, closing his eyes with a weary sigh. If only I could get hold of that staff right now.A wide distance separated him from his weapon. Despite their low intelligence, the monsters had successfully herded him away from it—a dangerous position, considering the staff was the only reason Kenji had survived this long.As he stretched a desperate arm toward the weapon, he glanced up, a cold sense of finality washing over him. I only managed to survive this long just to have it end here? He shook his head grimly and looked toward the far corner. "My staff!"Suddenly, like a wave of magnetic force, the staff which had been lying uselessly on the floor moments before... flew into his hand, his fingers clasping firmly around the grip.Kenji had no time for surprise. Sensing the shift in momentum, the remaining wolves snarled and charged. With a pained groan, he used the staff to lever himself upright. In a swift, predatory motion, the lead wolf lunged for his
