Almost an hour had passed since the terrifying screech echoed from beneath the cave. Despite the sound, a large crowd still gathered outside the tunnel. Ordinary civilians went about their daily lives, and some were even at the tunnel for business deals, exchanging essence and raw crystals in bulk transactions.
But after that final, piercing sound, the atmosphere shifted. Passersby turned to stare, and wealthy onlookers gathered quickly, realizing this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for profit. They crowded the tunnel's counter, waiting to purchase rare goods in bulk. Meanwhile, at the far end of the clearing, a tall, red-haired young man stood watching the commotion. Faint scarlet light intertwined around his fingers like weaving threads. He was Fyhn, a C-class hunter who had been conversing with his team navigator about tomorrow's essence mining preparations.but the terrifying sound from the cave had changed everything. The civilians didn't realize the truth of what that sound meant. Even the low-level guild clerks, busy filing records at the entrance, seemed oblivious. Fyhn scanned the crowd and spotted only one other person who understood the gravity of the situation: Lyhan. She stood on the opposite side, phone pressed to her ear, her expression grim. Fyhn knew exactly what was happening. A Dungeon Break... the portal gates have reopened. Without wasting a second, he stepped into a quiet corner and dialed a number. On the other end of the call, a figure sat upon a vast, imposing chair. The seat was carved with cold, immense features, decorated with dragon fangs at the edges. Two men in black stood like statues beside him. The figure sat unwavering, a dark hoodie covering half his face, his fingers adorned with five colossal rings—tapping idly against the cushion. Fyhn quickly explained everything he had witnessed at the cave. He reported the screeching gate and noted that Lyhan, a high-level hunter, had already noticed and was making a call of her own. This meant only thing. In the world of the Bounty Association, five "Majors" held ultimate power. A decade ago, during the War of Cataclysm, these five individuals of immense wealth and power had united to found the Association, organizing all "Awakened" users into a hierarchy with S-class hunters at the peak. Even though some of their powers exceeded those of the Majors, they remained fiercely loyal, offering every aid to end the war between monsters and humanity. Each of the five Major groups was responsible for holding the four district from these portals from every corner, but two of them was entirely based in the main district to protect humanity, where the populations of civilians was larger. However, the unity was only a facade. A dark secret loomed over the leadership. Two of the leading Majors, known as Fang and Tang, were secretly corrupted by dark entities from separate dimensions. While they played the role of heroes, they worked privately in the shadows. To hide their true intentions, these corrupted Majors had placed an order requiring every male citizen to fight, regardless of whether they had abilities. It was a move designed to cause chaos and weaken the lineage of the Ashras, a group they held a deep grudge against. Though the war eventually came to an end, a bitter misunderstanding remained between the Five Majors, leaving the Association fractured by suspicion. This meant that the person who Lyhan was speaking to on the phone was his Boss, among the other four majors. Meanwhile Fyhn's call was brief. On the other end, the mysterious figure spoke a single command before hanging up: "Keep an eye on the scene. I will have a word with your Major." Soon, informations reached almost every members of the Association about the dungeon break, and Major Rohan known for his Association group members 'Gang' happened to be just far away from the district. However, the good thing was that most of his comrades were in the main district where it occurred. "Alright, you should put a call to your comrades nearby. Firstly, evacuate every civilian at the cave entrance and proceed further to examine the cave when backups arrive. I already called Genz, and she happens to be nearby your location; she will be there in no time." Lyhan was informed by her Major and immediately proceeded just as he told her, clearing all the nearby civilians and also the guide clerks. It took some time as it seemed. Some of the local old-timers hesitated at first, daring her to see if she would even lay a hand on them while working as an Association member. But Lyhan, known for her cold and icy features, never minded dealing with anyone who stood in her way. To her, it felt natural to put these nuisances in their place as a warning to the others. She didn't fully understand the implications of acting this way in the main district, but she didn't care what came next; dealing with men like these was simply part of her nature. With slow, deliberate steps, she closed the gap between herself and the two men. One was thin and wiry; the other was stout and smug, wearing thick, goggle-like glasses. No one nearby could describe the sudden shift in the air as she approached. The two men began to tremble, their legs turning to jelly. As if that wasn't enough, the moment she raised her hand to unleash a devastating slap, a hand—soft and warm caught her wrist mid-air.Latest Chapter
Chapter 25
Soon, Cornell called for the attention from the seated audience that went completely silent after seeing the man dragged out. They sat calmly and in laser focus at the forefront. Meanwhile, what happened still remained unclear to the judges and most audience, but once some heads turned to some ranking association members seated among them, a chill ran down their spine, sensing the tension. Barr Cornell finally addressed Lyhan: "Vice Captain Lyhan, you can stand down. Your testimony establishes his former identity. Now, we move to the central issue." Lyhan, already boiling in rage at the crowd's insolence, yelled loudly, "I said he is him!" She stepped forward to the center where Kenji was standing sluggishly, constrained by the chains and the dampening monoto-device. She clutched Kenji's arm tightly and felt his dullness but ignored it. A white aura—Lyhan's specific Essence—enveloped her palms as she scratched Kenji's thumb with a specialized tool hidden in her glove. A tip o

The hush falling over the seated guests and officials became stifling. Murmurs began to spread like the buzzing of flies. It was difficult to decipher the Judge's true meaning; some whispered that the boy was lying, while others questioned the sheer audacity of an F-rank appearing before the Court in such a state. Everyone formed their own interpretation. "You see? I told you. How can an F-rank, the lowest of the association, with no Awakened ability... have the courage to show his face like this?" "He doesn't even look the part." "Shut it... You can clearly see he might be a humanoid in disguised as a human. I knew there is something strange about him." Tap! Tap! The sharp crack of the gavel demanded the audience's attention. Barr Cornell leaned forward, the light catching his monocle. "None of this adds up," the Judge declared. "If I am to believe your testimony, is there any evidence that you worked under these association members? And who will serve as your guarantor?" Kenj

Azure repeated softly, "Your eyes... you welled with tears for the remaining minutes you sat in meditation."From behind, Genz stood at the doorstep with her arms folded, having gone unnoticed the entire time. She had felt a rush of energy surging through Kenji over the last few minutes. She couldn't pinpoint the source, but judging by the scene before her, something didn't add up.Unconscious, welling in tears, and a sudden burst of energy, she thought, a smirk tugging at her lips. Without a word, she turned and disappeared into the depths of the basement.Kenji rubbed his eyes. To his surprise, a sheen of moisture coated his arm. Looking down, he saw the damp spots where his tears had soaked into his sleeve. He snapped his head up to look at Azure."Uh, what happened? And you—your eyes!"Azure's eyes widened, and she took a hasty step back. She hadn't realized her own emotions had reacted so visibly to his state. "Uhm, it's nothing! Nothing!" she stammered, hurrying toward the exit.

The white-haired figure, stepped forward, completely giving an awkward face to Azure. "You're Kenji, call me Rin." Even as his hand traced the same sign pattern, he glanced at Azure from the side corner.Kenji immediately doubled over, bowing his head slightly. "I know I owe you guys an explanation. Sorry, sorry, sorry! The truth is... I've never meditated in my life."At his sudden confession, Sai and Rin turned in unison, exchanging baffled looks."What? What do you mean by that?" Rin asked loudly, his face twisting into an expression of genuine confusion. Before Kenji could answer, Sai's eyes locked onto Kenji's ring. The 'G' shape etched into the metal caught the light. Sai's expression went cold; his mind seemed to race behind a stoic mask. Without a word, he turned his back and headed for the door."Hey, Sai? Wait... wait for me!" Rin scrambled after him, following him out into the hall. The door clicked shut, leaving Kenji and Azure standing in a heavy, echoing silence."I am s

"What... Ashra?" Again Kenji shouted, but his voice was swallowed by the emptiness. The screens shifted, scrolling with ancient data as if reading his very soul.[Over thousands of years, you have carried a Blood-Bound Contract within your veins. Before your previous death, you foresaw the betrayal. You knew one of the gods forsook you. You knew your memories would be wiped clean upon rebirth.]A new screen flared a deep, visceral crimson, larger than the others.[To circumvent the gods, you sacrificed your own blood to forge this contract. It was designed for one purpose: Rebirth. It is the vessel for your lost memories and your true power.]The thrumming grew louder, vibrating in Kenji's bones.[We are the Architects of that Contract. We are here to guide and train you, young master, until you fully reclaim yourself.]Kenji looked around at the pulsating screens, his eyes wide with confusion. He wasn't sure if he could believe the words of this mysterious System. He recalled the las

Rohan couldn't make out their conversation from a distance, but he noticed that Fang himself was nowhere near his guardian. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, unease settling in his mind. There was nothing more to be done here. Clouded by a grim expression, Rohan immediately pulled his phone from his side and called Genz. He stepped into the back seat of his car, sat, and rolled up the window. With so many officials and high-ranking citizens gathering nearby, he couldn't think of a worse way to cover for himself, as they all knew what he had been trying to keep a secret. He watched the glass slide shut, shielding his conversation from the public eye. Buzz! Buzz! The phone rang twice before Genz picked up. "We have a problem," Rohan said. "Things went as badly as I feared. The good news is we were granted partial permission to support the main district, but the bad news is they demanded the boy for questioning. Can you do me a favor?" Genz clutched her phone tightly and raised a si
