Ethan watched the two whispering, his eyes cold, lips curving into the faintest smile.

“The mayor?” he said softly, almost to himself. Then his voice sharpened. “Today, this city will have a new one.”

He pulled out his phone with calm movements. Everyone watched him, not daring to breathe. He dialed a number.

“Alice is missing,” he said. “Find her. Now. Send me her location.”

It only took seconds. His phone buzzed with a message. He looked down. An address. His jaw tightened, his knuckles whitening around the phone.

Pocketing it, Ethan turned and walked straight toward the arrogant man. Each step was steady, slow, and making the man shrink back. Fear had replaced his arrogance, but he still forced a laugh, his voice shaky. “Wh-what? Y-you think I’m afraid of you? You can’t—”

Gasps rippled through the hall.

“Oh my God…” someone whispered.

“Did he just…?” another voice trailed off.

“Look at him… he’s scared!” another said, pointing.

Her desperate sobs echoed in the hall. Gasps broke out again. “So it was him!” someone muttered. The police chief’s jaw tightened. His gaze darkened as he turned toward the arrogant man. “So you were behind all this…” The arrogant man’s lips quivered. “N-No… no, that’s not true—” But before he could finish, the footage on the screen suddenly switched—showing him going with Alice on a dark alley, then multiple men attacking her and going with her being unconscious, his hand gripping her arm, his sneer unmistakable. The entire hall erupted. “He really did it!” “There’s proof—look!”The arrogant man’s legs gave way, and he fell back to the floor, his mouth moving but no sound coming out.The clerk stayed on her knees, holding onto Ethan’s shoes, crying hard. “Please, sir… I didn’t mean it!” Meanwhile, the clerk remained on her knees, clutching at Ethan’s shoes, sobbing uncontrollably. “Please, sir, I didn’t mean it! Please forgive me! Don’t ruin my life—I’ll never dare again!”

The man froze. Could what Ethan just said really be true? His hand shook as he gripped his phone, sweat running down his temple. Then, the loud wail of sirens.Blue and red lights flared outside the glass doors, and within moments, the police chief stormed in with a full team of officers. “Mr. Storm!” the chief called, his tone full of respect as he hurried straight to Ethan. “We’re here as you ordered.” The entire hall fell silent then gasps erupted in the room. “D-Did he just call him… Mr. Storm?” someone whispered.“No way! The chief… he never bows to anyone!” a man stammered, his eyes wide with fear.“What kind of person is he?” a woman whispered, clutching her friend’s arm tightly. The arrogant man’s jaw hung open. His lips moved, but no sound came out. His face was pale, like all the color had drained away.Ethan’s eyes were cold like ice. He wasted no words. “Find Alice. Now. Search every floor, every room. I want her location immediately.” “Yes, sir!” the chief barke

The arrogant man’s grin widened, his eyes glinting with amusement. “You really don’t know how to take a hint, do you?” he sneered. “Go home, boy. Your little girlfriend isn’t here. Maybe you should just forget her.” Ethan’s jaw tightened. His fingers trembled—not with fear, but with rage. “Where is she?” he demanded, voice low… dangerously low. The man laughed cruelly. “She’s… somewhere she shouldn’t be. But don’t worry—maybe if you beg nicely, I’ll tell you.” Ethan’s hand shot to his pocket. He coldly dialed the police chief’s number. His voice was icy. “Chief, it’s Ethan. Listen carefully. I need every unit at my location. Now.” On the other end, the chief’s voice was frantic. “Mr. Storm? Are you sure? I… I’ll dispatch every available car. Don’t move—don’t do anything stupid.” After hanging up, the chief’s voice barely had time to fade before he scrambled. “Every unit! All available units! Now! Go! Go! Go!” His fingers flew over the radio as officers scrambled into car

As soon as Alice hung up, a sharp voice broke the silence in the lobby. “You can’t wait here,” the man said, cold and commanding. He was very bossy. “Step outside. This isn’t for people like you.” He stood tall, chest out, chin high. His dark eyes were full of hate, and his suit fit him perfectly. Alice frowned and held her bag tight. “But my boyfriend said—” “I don’t care what he said,” he snapped. “Out. Now.” Alice had no choice. She stepped into the hot sun. The heat hit her hard. Sweat ran down her face. Her clothes stuck to her skin. Her lips were dry. She tried to stay calm, gripping her bag. Her eyes kept looking back at the building door, hoping Ethan would come. Where is he? Why isn’t he here? she thought. He promised he’d meet me. What if something happened? No… he’ll come. He has to. Minutes passed. The sun was strong. Half an hour went by. Her patience ran out. Her stomach hurt. Her throat felt dry. Then the man came back. He smiled cruelly. “You’ve waited long

Paul just stood there, grinning like he’d already won. Ethan’s jaw was so tight it looked like it might break. Then, suddenly, the leasing agent stepped back from Paul. He walked straight to Ethan and bowed his head a little. His voice was polite and very respectful. “Mr. Storm,” he said, “here are the contracts you asked for.” He placed five thick folders in Ethan’s hands. Paul froze. His smirk wavered. What was happening? Ethan’s expression shifted. His anger went away, and a smile appeared on his face. He opened the first folder, looked through it quickly, and then looked at the agent.“Good job,” Ethan said quietly. “You did well.”Paul blinked. “What…?”Ethan let out a soft, amused laugh that made Paul’s stomach turn. “You didn’t ask any questions, did you?” Paul’s shoulders straightened, his smugness starting vanishing. “What the hell are you talking about?” Ethan closed the folders with a snap. “This entire building is mine.” Paul let out a short, sharp laugh, but it d
