Nuel rolled his eyes. "Ever the dramatic entrance," he said as Khaos emerged from the commotion.
Khaos Valtor offered a humble smile at Nuel's comment about him. “It's good to see you're back— alive.” Khaos said, walking towards him. “I have always had it rough, so this is probably nothing.” Nuel replied. For some reason, he felt comfortable talking to Khaos just like he was a friend. It was just easy having a talk with him and that was all, perhaps there would be more even though they had only met a few hours ago. “I would really appreciate it if you let go of my lady's wrist.” Khaos continued with the most unhinged smile settled on his face. Nuel was suddenly drawn back to this reality. He was still holding the lady's wrist and it seemed Khaos didn't like this much. “Your woman?” Nuel asked jokingly. “Yes!” Khaos replied without thinking twice. After all, no sane man who had claimed that woman for himself would think twice before declaring she was his. Nuel gave a dry chuckle. “Do you mind?” Khaos lady finally spoke, her voice as soft as feather and sweet like melody to the ears. 'Is there anything not perfect about her?’ Nuel said to himself in his thoughts. She sat close to him on the bed and carefully began to remove the bandages wrapped around him, her soft touch leaving a fantastic trail of jiggle, perhaps telling a story that she likes him too. Her gentle breath caused a ripple on the hair of his skin and she was so close to him as if she wanted him to touch her a little, maybe fondle her valuables and touch her in the right places— it was as if she had this all planned out in her head already. Anyone would be tempted, but Nuel wasn't going to betray Khaos by taking his woman— maybe not yet. “Don't even think about it.” Khaos, who seemed to have read Nuel's mind, said. “Every man is off limits to Lhasa.” As if irritated by Khaos claim, Lhesa spoke again. “Brother, please!” Nuel gave Khaos a questioning look as if he had been betrayed by his closest pal. “She's a little naive, that's the best I can do to protect her from men like you.” Khaos finally confessed, his eyebrows twitching as he did. Lhesa was finally done unwrapping the bandages and Nuel could tell she enjoyed getting close to him. She picked up the elixir vial from the tray and gave it to him to drink. She watched him as he gobbled its content down with a shy smile forming a blush on her cheek bones while his skin slowly writhed, his wounds closing up within seconds. All Khaos could do was watch his sister try to please Nuel with irritation. He shook his head multiple times until Lhesa finally left. “Lhesa has never left your side since I brought you here… a little obsessive I must say but she has a very horrible taste in men.” Khaos bashed, hitting the nail in the head without caution. “Sounds like someone's jealous.” Nuel smirked, grabbing his shirt from the cloth rack beside his bed. “C'mon, time's running out. We have somewhere to go.” Khaos turned at the door, raising two of his fingers at it as he conjured a portal. With brimming sparks paving way into reality at first, a green condense energy rippled in circles, forming another entrance for passage. “It's simple.” Khaos who had noticed Nuel's reluctance said. “Just mana and practice and you're good to go.” “I hate magic.” Nuel grunted, following after through the rift and they were out of the room the next minute. *** The portal reappeared at the end of a hallway which was filled with more people who Nuel assumed to be student mages. They all were headed in a certain direction and Nuel was forced to believe it was the same place Khaos would be taking him to. “What happened back there at the hospital?” Nuel finally asked. “I saved your deadbeat ass and the end.” Khaos casually replied like he never wanted to talk about that. Nuel gave a slight nod, not wanting to press the issue further as well. “Welcome to the Valtor's family academy, Nuel.” Khaos said. “An academy? What are the odds?” Nuel replied with a smirk, taking a look at the construct of the building he could lay eyes on. The academy was like a huge dome, and there were a couple of other dome-like constructs surrounding the one they were walking in. The building was beautiful with glistering crystals making up its walls and precious stones carving an ethereal beauty to it. It felt more like a king's palace rather than an academy. The marble floors were smooth and shining, fire lamps stands which were controlled by mana lit up the hallway with elegance. “So, why am I here?” Nuel asked as they continued walking with his hands already slid into his pockets nonchalantly. “There are a lot of things you need to know about the world we live in now. As I have said earlier, the world ended ten days ago, causing instant dungeons and gates from other dimensions to open up at will in our world. The monsters lurking and spawning out of the gates have destroyed a third of our world and they won't relent until they have finally made our race extinct.” Khaos explained. “What does that have to do with me anyway? It's not like I'm the cause of what's happening.” Nuel frowned. Khaos gave him a quick look before responding. “Seems you're quick to forget you killed an important figure from the demon clan, Nuel. You solely took out the princess of their clan… the apparent heir to their throne.” “Isn't that great? A demon closer to annihilating their entire clan? And besides it is a mission assigned to me by the family I work for— the prestigious Philikio family. Are you jealous because the annihilation was not an order from your family? A rival to us?” Khaos stopped walking, turning his full attention to Nuel. “That's not the point, Nuel. You have been exploited by the family you work for and you have delivered yourself into the hands of death. The demon clan will not rest until they have your head and the whole world is suffering from the consequences of your actions.” Nuel was thrown into a state of unbelief as he heard Khaos's words. He tried to piece things together, the absurdity of the Philikio family betraying him was ridiculous to his ears. “The only way you can survive and protect what matters to you at this point is undergoing an awakening, like every other student of this academy.” “What?” Nuel exclaimed in disgust, slamming Khaos into a nearby wall which attracted the attention of passing by students. “An awakening? I will rather die than have mana flow through my veins.” He spat, still holding Khaos dangerously by the collar. “Not when your aunt's life is at stake. Her survival depends on your cooperation; don't test my resolve." Khaos said, his tone cold enough to deliver a threat.Latest Chapter

The hallway suddenly fell into a huge hush as the once passing by students sidelined themselves along the corridor, watching the drama between Nuel and Khaos unfold. And then, a quiet murmuring began to escape from their lips, raising questions on who the man holding Khaos by the neck was. Some who had sighted Khaos arrival at the Valtor's family academy with an injured Nuel a few hours ago began to spread the news, infact sharing more fabricated stories that were far from the truth. It wasn't long the eyes of many of the students watching began to taunt Nuel. It was very obvious a huge portion of them hated him already even though they do not know a thing about him.“I heard he's a hunter of dark magic users, but he hasn't awakened yet.” A weakling boy with big glasses gossiped, pushing back the frame of his glasses to add spice to how serious he was about his tale about Nuel.“Tell me more, Raj!” His friend asked hurriedly, suddenly invested in knowing more about what he knew about

The beast swung its rickety arm at Nuel, whipping him in the chest with the thorns that stood out of the flesh in its skeletal arm. With brute force
