Nicholas rushed to Dexter and pleaded on Madison's behalf. “Please understand her pain… I know she can be a hard nut to crack, but she's a sweet girl.”

Dexter nods. She was right. It was his fault. And her anger wouldn't stop him from helping her. “Just tell her to stop crying. I'll handle it all.” Was all Dexter said as he stepped out of the place.

He retrieved his phone, and immediately called Ivan, his assistant. “Hello? Ivan?”

“Yes, boss… good afternoon, sir.”

“What do you know about James White?”

“He's the chairman of a popular team, sir.” Ivan replied.

“You must have heard the rumour flying around. Make sure Mr. White calls off all orders he gave against Madison Bryan and her father's company..” He instructed, his voice firm.

“Getting to Mr. White wouldn't be easy, but I'll take care of it.” Ivan replied, his voice a bit skeptical.

“Thank you.” Then he ended the call.

Beep!

{Come to the resort, son, it's important.}

Dexter read the text from his uncle. He hesitated, but since there was still time, he decided to visit the resort.

-

“Mr. Roland, meet Mr. Dexter Wilson, the grandson of Mr. Bill Wilson. He's the one to take over the empire in a few hours from now. But his identity is being kept a secret because of the Corinthians.” Mr. Scott, Dexter's uncle, introduced him to a prominent member of the Wilson empire. The largest, wealthiest and most powerful empire in the whole world.

The Wilson empire consists of 20 members, and Roland was one of them.

For a brief moment, Roland studied Dexter, stroking his beards with an unreadable expression. “I don't know about you… but this person can't be the head of the same empire that I am in.”

Scott was taken aback. “Why?”

“Can't you see he's a kid. Haven't you seen the men In this empire? A child can't govern us!” He declared.

“You will watch your tongue when talking about your boss! He's 29!”

“And the lowest age is 40! Don't get me started. Even if I agree, you think the rest will?” He frowned.

There's a lot he doesn't know! They all had their plan, and his kid being their boss wasn't part of it!

As he blew his smoke out of mouth, Dexter leaned forward. “Why do I feel you wanna keep my position for yourself, Mr. Roland.”

“Why? You think we'll all jump in excitement that you resurfaced out of nowhere?” He shot back.

“That doesn't change the fact that I'm a Wilson blood. And I'm here to take over what's rightfully mine.” Dexter calmly explained. His grandfather explained the back story behind his leaving.

And for some reason, he doesn't trust anyone. Not even his uncle Scott.

“Alright then. May the best man win!” Roland tilts his head.

“Is that a bet?”

“What do you say about arm wrestling? The loser backs out! I'll add a free ticket for you to go to any country of your choice. As long as you're out of Chicago.” Roland smirked.

“Do you have a death wish, Roland!” Scott barked at him but he didn't care.

“Haha! Scared of arm wrestling? See why I say you can't be the boss of me?” Roland laughed, blowing his smoke into Dexter's face like a dangerous mafia.

“All I feel is sorry for you. But who am I to chicken out? Winner doesn't just keep the boss title, he slaps the loser hard on the face.” Dexter declared, placing his right hand on the table as if ready for the match.

“I love your courage, hahaha! Scott, you're my witness.” Then he stretched his hand forward.

“Your stubbornness disgust me, Roland!” Scott barked but it was too late.

They placed their palm on each other and the struggle began. Roland gritted his teeth, forcefully trying to defeat Dexter.

His veins become visible on his arm and forehead. Dexter on the other hand kept a straight face, his eyes fixed on Roland's struggling face. “You can give up to avoid embarrassment, don't you think?” He almost laughed at the man's weak state.

Just then, he slammed his hands on the table without warning, and Roland was left in puzzlement.

He didn't see that coming. It was almost like his struggles to win were like a rabbit trying to fight a lion.

“How did you do that?” He asked in disbelief. Especially since he felt a strange current from Dexter's arm.

“What matters is that I won and you lost!” With that, Dexter gave Roland a painful slap that almost got him falling off his seat.

“Haha!” Scott burst out laughing.

“How dare you, I wasn't prepared for the slap!” Roland frowned.

“I didn't say you have to. Now are you going to back off? Or…”

“You're the boss!” Roland raised his hands defensively.

“You can see the Wilson blood in him.” Scott smiled.

“I agree. He's the only one fit for the position.”

“With him around, the enemy wouldn't dare us.” Scott smirked.

“Isn't he keeping his identity a secret? How will they know he's the one?”

“They don't have to know just yet and that's the best for now,” Dexter explained.

If he shows himself, he would be dead in minutes. Though he wasn't sure who killed his mum or sent people to kill them, he knew Fibonacci knows something he doesn't. He wouldn't wanna raise suspicious eyes by showing himself. He had to make decisions with caution.

His grandfather's men couldn't find the exact killer as they couldn't put a face to the name of these people, but he is determined to find and kill those people. It's his fight.

“I'll see you in a few hours then.” Roland stretched his hands out for a shake. Dexter takes his hands before walking out with his uncle.

At 4: 55pm, Dexter knew he was home in time when Ashanti jumped to hug him. “I got it! I got the contract! I got it!!!” She giggled with excitement.

“Congratulations!” Dexter was happy for her.

“Omg! It still feels surreal! Grandpa is throwing a party to celebrate tomorrow! Can you believe I got a contract from a company as big as Wilson Group!” She was over the moon.

“Wait… I have to call Paxton! Mum will kill me if I don't!” She grabbed her phone from the table.

Dexter creased his brows in confusion. He heard Sara saying that name last night but didn't think much of it. “Who is Paxton?”

“My friend, silly! He's the one who helped secure the contract for me! I knew I could count on him!” She explained before moving away to speak to him.

Dexter sighed, watching her as she poured all her gratitude to him.

“You–you got it?” Paxton sounded surprised but immediately said, “It's nothing, honey… you know I'll do anything for you.”

“Grandpa is organising a banquet. We would be honoured to have you in our midst.” Ashanti said softly.

Soon, Ashanti ended the call then Dexter walked up to her. “You deserve it.”

“No, Paxton's help..”

Before she could finish, Dexter cut her short, “Some things aren't the way it seems, you know. Forget it… Let's get dressed…we are going to celebrate..”

“Where?”

“Polaris, of course.” Dexter replied.

“Dexter, no…That will be too much, I don't want you to…”

“Shh..” Dexter hushed her softly, “Get dressed, we are living.”

As much as she wanted to protest, she was in the mood of celebrating her latest achievement.

Meanwhile, Clara and Lucas arrived at the luxurious restaurant they booked.

She brought her phone out, taking pictures and videos of the delicious food they served. She giggled as she made a post on I*******m and captioned it, “Living my best life”

Then she started getting loads of envious comments.

“Omg! Is that Polaris?!”

“Clara is so lucky!”

“Oh my… I wish my man could take me to Polaris as well Clara, you're so lucky to have Lucas!”
