Polaris was the most Luxurious restaurant in Chicago. It is an exclusive, ultra-luxurious restaurant nestled in a private area of the city and reserved for the elite.
Its marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and handcrafted gold-leaf detailing gave it a luxurious look. Each table is set in its own Polaris-curtained alcove for maximum privacy. The menu is a rotating selection of rare, globally sourced delicacies—think bluefin tuna flown in from Japan, truffle-infused wagyu, and vintage wines from private estates. Entry is by membership only, and reservations can take months—unless you’re on the billionaire list! Not even an average man could afford such a place. Though people at work were rich, none of them were rich enough to afford such an expensive restaurant. First global bank employs the rich kids. Their roles were either manager, consultant, head of the team, who have little to no work to engage in… so Lucas, Clara, Madi, Sarah and 98% of them were just trying to get experience to gain knowledge on the business world. And not all of them could afford a place like Polaris! Clara smiled to herself. She was indeed lucky and happy to have dumped Dexter to be with a man such as Lucas. If not, how will she be able to come to such an expensive place? This single post has earned her respect from their workplace. Not even Dexter himself will be worthy to talk to her. She kissed Lucas on the cheek and made one last post before going to the restroom. Meanwhile, Dexter and Ashanti had arrived at the place, but he needed to use the men's room, so he excused himself. Beep! {Ms. Madison's case had been solved, boss} as he read the text, he unknowingly bumped into Clara. “Dexter?” Clara's mouth fell wide open. Both of them were equally shocked because they never expected to see each other in a place like this. “You asshole! Did you come to beg the rich folks here for money! You don't seem to quit, do you! Do you need 10 bucks again?!” She shouted outside the restroom. “I'm a customer just like you.” Dexter frowned. “Haha! Customer! Get out this instant! I said get out! Where is the manager! Security! There's an intruder in here!” She started shouting, not caring about the attention she was pulling from the crowd. “Clara, stop it! You never seem to stop trying to embarrass me!” “Rephrase that! You never seem to stop trying to embarrass yourself!” Polaris is going to lose its value! If this place is for the elites only, how did a rat below the standard get in here! Slowly, onlookers started murmuring. “Reason why I hate poor people. They are such a killjoy!” “He should be kicked out and banned from entry!” Just then, Lucas and the manager rushed towards them. Lucas smirked the moment his eyes fell on Dexter, “Did you see your class here?” “Yes, Lucas, I see my class but I don't see yours.” He shot back at him. “How dare you!” Clara fumed, turning to the manager. “Don't just stand there while he's treating your customers awfully! Kick this scumbag out!” She shouted. “Sir, if you're not a customer, I'll suggest you leave quietly. I don't want to use force on you.” The manager was trying to be polite. “You can't kick me out. I'm also a customer. My table is table 101.” Dexter said calmly, causing Lucas and Clara to burst out laughing. “You're such a cheap liar!” Clara could almost not believe her ears. “This fool is going to ruin your restaurant’s reputation. My girlfriend and I booked table 101. Or are you telling me it's a coincidence that we booked the same table?!” Lucas shook his head as if disappointed in Dexter's foolishness. All the while, Ashanti was behind them, listening to their discussion in shame. Except, Dexter didn't notice when she joined in; as she had curiosity walked over to the spot when she sensed Dexter might be in trouble. Especially since he was taking too long. Clara glared at Dexter with disgust, “You wanted to lie, but lied unprofessionally, how foolish!” The two laughed out loud. But the manager politely asked for a receipt from Dexter to confirm. In Polaris, all customers are treated well, and he wouldn't hesitate to kick him out once he's found guilty. “Here…. I booked a reservation for table 101.” He explained, showing the man his full payment receipt and bookings. The moment the manager saw this, his demeanor changed and immediately apologised. “Please accept my sincere apologies, sir. I see you booked a table for two? Please, come with me.” He quickly ushered Dexter, without giving Clara and Lucas a second glance. The two exchanged puzzled glances, unable to grasp what was happening. Dexter noticed his wife behind and took her hands. “I didn't see you.. let's go?” Then they walked away. When they arrived at the table, the manager frowned as he noticed the table was filled with dishes that indicated someone had taken the table. He pulled out his walkie talkie and soon, the waiter in charge rushed to them. When the manager demanded what was going on, the waiter nervously pleaded. “Forgive me sir, I was employed this afternoon and couldn't differentiate between the VIP table 101 and regular 101.” He explained, and just then, Clara and Lucas walked back to their table. “Ma’am, there seems to be a misunderstanding. Can I see your receipt?” The manager quickly turned to them, while Dexter and Ashanti watched calmly. After scanning their receipt, the manager said, “The misunderstanding is from our end… you booked the regular table 101. This is the V-vip table… Mr. Wilson and his wife reserved it, not you.” Those words left Clara struck dumb! Her heart sank and her throat suddenly went dry.Latest Chapter

The twins whimpered, clutching at their father's coat. Byron's pulled them closer instinctively, his body torn between shielding them and drawing the pistol at his side. But his hand froze. He couldn’t move. Not against that stare.Dexter’s grin deepened. Not wide. Not mocking. Just enough to remind Byron of the gulf between them—that all this time, he had been nothing more than a pawn.Byron’s breath came fast, ragged. His vision blurred at the edges. He stumbled back, boots scraping, but Dexter’s presence only pressed harder, filling the space, suffocating. It hit him then, full force. The Professor he had obeyed. The voice that had pulled his strings. The shadow behind every calculated move.It was Dexter. All along.Byron’s knees almost buckled. His heart slammed against his ribs so hard it hurt. His mind screamed denial, but the truth stood unshakable before him.His nephew. His enemy.Byron’s first words were simple, flat as contract, “I did my part. We’re even. Stay away from m

Sabrina sat alone in the vast silence of Byron’s mansion, the bathroom tiles glowing faintly under soft yellow light. Her hand trembled as she lifted the small white stick. The pink line stared back at her. Her palm covered her mouth, muffling the sharp gasp that escaped.Pregnant.Her heart hammered against her ribs. Pregnant… for Byron? Her reflection in the mirror looked like a stranger—eyes wide, face pale, hair falling in strands over her cheeks. A bitter laugh slipped from her lips, choked with disbelief. The test clattered against the marble sink as her knees buckled. She pressed her forehead to the mirror, whispering to herself, “What have you done, Sabrina?”But there was no answer. Only silence. Only the faint echo of a future she hadn’t planned for.Far across the city, the night vibrated with tension.Byron’s convoy cut through the streets like a moving shadow. Three black SUVs rolled to a stop at the edge of Fibonacci’s compound. The engines died in unison, leaving only t

Byron stood there, the phone pressed against his ear though the call already ended. The silence was deafening. His lungs fought for air. His jaw clenched so hard it ached. Slowly, he lowered the phone, his hand trembling—not with weakness, but with the kind of fury and dread that made even the hardest men quake. Then, in a burst of violence, Byron hurled the phone across the room. It shattered against the wall.“FIND HER!” His roar shook the walls, his voice thundering with a primal ferocity that made the guards flinch. He pointed his gun at the men nearest him, eyes blazing with both terror and wrath. “Turn this place upside down! Tear the floors open if you have to! If we don’t bring her out in three minutes, my sons..” His voice broke, just for a heartbeat, before hardening again. “..my sons are dead.”His chest heaved, sweat breaking along his brow. Fear gripped him like a vice, but it only fueled the savagery in his command. No one had ever seen Byron Wilson like this—powerful, c

The next morning, a door swung open. For a moment, a heavy silence followed.Byron stood at the threshold, his gaze sweeping the empty room. The bed was cold. The chains hung loose, clinking softly against the wall like laughter mocking him. A single cuff lay open, dangling as if someone had slipped free. The air shifted. His face hardened. His jaw locked. A deadly stillness fell over him, the kind of silence before a storm breaks.Without thinking, he pulled his trigger, circling the room like he wanted to hear a faint cry.BANG!The sound exploded like cannon fire. Byron’s gun smoked, a hole splintering the wooden frame beside the door. The guards behind him jolted, some nearly dropping their weapons.Every breath in the hallway stopped.Byron’s voice followed, low and guttural, vibrating through the walls.“Search. The. Entire. Compound!” he barked breathlessly. No one hesitated. Boots thundered down the corridors, radios buzzed, orders barked. The mansion turned into a hive of cha

When the car stopped, Amaya stepped out along with the rest of the maid, but she quickly blended into the crowd of people by the sidewalk. Without looking back, she ran as fast as she could. She tore the maid's outfit as she ran, leaving just a sleeveless top and shorts to cover her body. She ran and ran until she couldn't.Everywhere was dark, cold and quiet, but she mustered up and managed to get to a street landline. Then she quickly dialed a number and pressed the phone to her ears. She took a deep breath, her chest heaving as she tried the number for more than 5 times but no one was picking up.“Pick up, pick up, pick up,” She muttered, running her fingers through her hair with an exhausted look. She looked over her shoulders, scanning the area with fear.. fear not to be seen or get in trouble with the street hoodlums. It was late in the night and no one was out.If anything happens to her in this spot, then how would she save herself? She was already too weak to speak, too weak

When the servant’s gaze fell on Sabrina as she stepped forward, her face was drained of color."Listen to me.. did you see anything?" “N-no, ma’am! I was only—only delivering food!”“Then deliver it and keep your eyes shut.” Her words dropped low, venomous. “Whatever you think you saw, you didn’t. Do you understand me?”The boy’s head bobbed so fast it was a wonder his neck didn’t snap. “Yes, Mistress. I swear, I saw nothing.”Sabrina leaned closer, her whisper colder than steel. “If a word of this reaches Byron, your tongue will be cut out before you can utter his name.”His breath stuttered. “I won’t speak. Ever. I swear on my life.”“Good.” With a flick of her hand, she dismissed him. The boy fled, boots scuffing against stone, the heavy door slamming shut behind him.Silence pressed in, broken only by the faint drip of water in the far corner. At last, Sabrina turned back to Amaya. For a moment, the mask slipped. The icy facade melted, and a quiet urgency took its place. “You sh
