Chapter 1: Four Sect
The Council was enormous, and every time Ezra entered its vast halls, he felt a wave of awe wash over him. The Council Hall, hewn from the ancient white cliffs, was like the heart of the continent, where all power, authority, and tradition came together. The ceilings soared high above, adorned with detailed murals that told the stories of the Four Sects.
Sunlight streamed through narrow, stained-glass windows, creating colorful patterns on the marble floors. As Ezra strolled down the hallway, the sound of his footsteps mingled with those of the guards, his tutors, and the quiet maids trailing behind him. Ezra found himself at the center of this little group, his eyes wandering to take in every detail of the hall. Tall banners lined the walls, each one representing one of the Four. The striking emerald green emblem of the Echelon sect stood out the most—a tree with branches that seemed to reach endlessly. It was displayed at every entrance, a constant reminder of the values the sect cherished: freedom, peace, and kindness. The Echelon sect was in charge of the Council, with Ezra's father at the helm, leading the most influential sect on the continent. As for Ezra, he was expected to follow in his father's footsteps, but he didn’t feel ready for that kind of pressure, nor did he want it. "Ezra, are you paying attention?" It was his teacher, Master Lorrin. Ezra could picture the wiry little man with his head of grey-white hair tied back in a tight knot. His long robes swayed as he walked, and his thick wooden staff tapped the floor with every word. "Yes, Master Lorrin," Ezra mumbled, though his mind was elsewhere. "Then tell me," Lorrin said sharply, "at what age does a member of the Echelon sect usually start martial training?" Ezra sighed and shifted his gaze back to his tutor. "At sixteen." "And how old are you?" "Sixteen," Ezra answered. "Exactly." Lorrin's voice was crisp. "So why are we still having this conversation?" Ezra frowned. They had been discussing this for days, and the argument felt never-ending. Becoming a martial arts master was expected—almost required. Martial skill ruled the world. Even the Echelon, known for their non-violent styles, had produced some of the most respected and feared masters in history. Still, Ezra hesitated. “I’m not ready,” he murmured, staring at the double doors of the Council Chamber. Guards stood on either side, clad in sharp green-and-gold armor. Their spears shone as they crossed them in front of the entrance, waiting for orders to let Ezra pass. Master Lorrin's staff tapped more loudly on the floor as he hurried to keep pace with Ezra. "Not ready? You’re sixteen, Ezra. Most Echelon trainees your age have already started mastering their techniques. You can’t keep relying on your family name forever." Ezra clenched his fists, feeling heat rise to his cheeks. "I don’t rely on my family!" "Then show it." The words hit hard. Lorrin was always strict, and Ezra knew his mentor's patience was running out. He glanced at the guards, standing silently and alert. The maids following them kept their heads down, moving like shadows. Ezra wished they weren’t there to witness this. "I don’t have the basics down yet," Ezra insisted. "I can’t even hold a stance for long. If I start now—" "You will learn as you go," Lorrin interrupted sharply. "It’s fear that holds you back, not a lack of skill." Ezra opened his mouth to argue but stayed silent. Was it really fear? Or maybe it was. He wasn’t sure anymore. At the doors, the guards uncrossed their spears and pushed the heavy wooden doors open; the hinges creaked loudly as the Council Chamber revealed itself. The room was round, with seats rising high into the shadows. In the middle stood the Council Table: a large ring made of smooth, carved obsidian, marked with the symbols of the Four Sect leaders. Ezra had visited this room many times, filled with robed figures as the leaders gathered to decide the continent's future. Today, it was vacant. Yet, even in its emptiness, it held a certain grandeur. The air felt charged with the weight of history. Ezra entered and stopped at the doorway, sensing a strange energy in the space, as if it were alive. The banners of all four Sects hung evenly spaced on the circular wall. The Echelon banner displayed a sprawling tree, while the Archival banner featured a silver eye set in a book—knowledge is power. The Horrendous banner was as dark as night, with faint red runes flickering along its edge—an unsettling omen. The Argent banner showed a golden crown surrounded by rays of light, symbolizing political power. The Four. Together, they were the continent's leaders. United, they formed the Council. Ezra stepped further in, flanked by his guards and tutor. Their footsteps echoed in the vast chamber. Master Lorrin moved ahead, leading the way. "Training starts in two days," Lorrin announced, his voice reverberating off the stone walls. "You'll meet your first master that morning." Ezra's stomach sank. "But we haven't even—" "There's nothing more to discuss," Lorrin replied firmly. Ezra glared at his tutor's back, knowing arguing was pointless. Lorrin had made his decision. His father likely had too. Ezra had no say in the matter. As they approached the center of the room, Ezra stopped. Something felt wrong. The air, once cool, now felt heavy and thick. "Do you feel that?" Ezra asked suddenly. Master Lorrin paused and looked back at him. "Feel what?" The guards exchanged worried glances. The maids stood close together, frozen in place. Ezra tried to speak, but the words wouldn't come. A faint green mist curled around his feet. He blinked, unsure if he was seeing things. The mist grew thicker, spreading across the marble floor. "What is this?" Lorrin shouted, turning quickly. His staff hit the ground, but the sound was muted by the strange fog. The guards unsheathed their swords, the metallic sound echoing in the chamber. Ezra felt a peculiar warmth on his skin as the mist brushed against him. It was neither hot nor cold—it simply existed. "Ezra, move back!" Master Lorrin yelled. But Ezra was frozen. His body felt heavy, as if unseen forces were holding him down. He slowly turned to look at the guards. One of them stumbled, his spear falling to the ground before he collapsed. "No," Ezra breathed. The maids followed suit, sinking to the floor, their heads drooping as if they had just fallen asleep. The mist rose higher, swirling and spreading its toxic tendrils through the air. Ezra could hear his heartbeat thundering in his chest as he glanced at Master Lorrin. The tutor's face was ashen, his mouth open as if to speak, but then he too fell forward, his staff rolling away across the stone. Ezra's legs gave way. He fought against the force pulling him down, but his strength was fading fast. Then, he fell.Expand

Ezra Echelon Liberation System Chapter 92: Impressed.
After recovering herself Mira got up and flexed her muscles, a wide grin appearing on her face. Her eyes squinted with delight as she stared at the monstrous corpse in front of her. Although it had been gigantic before, it was slowly reducing in size and height. Obviously it was returning to its normal size.First Mira was very happy because she had successfully hunted an amateur level monster. This was a feat which an ordinary beginner level cultivator wouldn't think of achieving in a long run. Even other amateur cultivators would think twice before trying to think of hunting a creature like this amateur level monster which could enlarge itself as well as encase itself in a stone coat. The two abilities coupled with the lion's roar made it very deadly. Mira could bet with her life that most of the amateur level cultivators would not be able to face a monster like this and come out alive. They would be very lucky if they were able to escape and even though they did they wouldn't escap

Ezra Echelon Liberation System Chapter 91: Lunch is Ready.
Tap! Tap! Tap!Mira continued running across the lion's body, her hands swaying the air and her teeth gritted so that she could bear the pain of having so much Qi within her body. Every cell in her body was screaming and she felt as if she was about to explode in a short period of time. If she wasn't able to defeat and kill this monstrous lion within this period of time then she would be as good as dead. This was because once her body reached its limit and she couldn't bear the large amount of Qi within her, she was going to explode into smithereens. And that would be the end of everything. She even began to imagine how devastated Ezra would be when he woke up and looked for her only to discover that she was dead."No!" Mira yelled, biting on her own lips as she tried to distribute the large amounts of Qi within her body. "I can't accept such an end because it has not been written! My end has not come!"With this conviction she endured through the inburst of Qi as she continued to run

Ezra Echelon Liberation System Chapter 90: Lion's Roar
Seeing that Mira had dodged its attacks the lion was instantly enraged than it had been before. It roared very loudly and raised the other paw to slam it down at Mira. Again it didn't even have to move to reach Mira. It was still very huge.Bam!Its paw came slamming down on where Mira had been standing before, causing the entire ground to shake violently. Cracks swiftly spread across it, causing it to sink inwards into a very huge crater. Only this time the crater was bigger than the previous, showing an increase in its ferociousness."Damn...it really wants to kill me," Mira told herself. "Now I don't have to keep holding back. I have to fight it no matter what and kill this monstrosity!"Can you really do it? her inner voice attacked her, causing her to shudder in fear. Do you really have what it takes to slay this monster? It looks nothing like a beginner level monster and can kill you any minute from now!"No!" she immediately yelled, trying to shake that stuff out of her mind. S

Ezra Echelon Liberation System Chapter 89: This is Suicide
Seeing that she couldn't take up Ezra's new sword she decided to let it be. Earlier she had been in custody of Ezra's old katana but it had been taken away from her when the bandits had attacked. So at this moment she decided to look for that katana which had accompanied Ezra throughout his life. After searching through the horde of corpses she finally found the katana lying among the numerous weapons. It looked very ordinary as it should be. There was nothing magical about it but Mira felt it would be unwise to leave it lying here. So she picked it up, cleaned it and strapped it around her back. Currently she had one longsword which was strapped to her left side, a blade which she had purchased at the last human settlement they had come across. With one last look at Ezra she let out a deep sigh, "Stay safe till I come back. I promise you to get a big catch for you so that you won't starve."She didn't know what gave her the courage to feel that Ezra would be perfectly fine. Perhaps i

Ezra Echelon Liberation System Chapter 88: What Kind of Weapon is This?
Mira held Ezra in her arms for close to one hour, staring at his face. The hollows which had been left there as a result of his eyes being destroyed were now filled because his eyes had been completely healed. And instead of seeing empty eye sockets burning with blazing balls of fire she could see his closed eyes. And from the way they were closed he appeared to be sleeping, his expression very calm."I never knew you'd come for me," Mira said to Ezra who was still unconscious. "I thought you wouldn't be able to find me no matter how you tried. Who would have thought that you would find me and even fight a professional cultivator just to save me?"And at that moment she realized that Ezra had grown beyond her expectations. Wasn't it just a week ago that he was still an amateur cultivator? How then was he a professional cultivator today? It was really shocking the way Ezra always grew beyond her imagination.Even if she knew that he had what was called the Echelon system which always g

Ezra Echelon Liberation System Chapter 87: Not the Best Reunion
After seeing that the man was dead Ezra couldn't help but take several deep breaths as he fell to his knees, his face becoming very pale as veins began bulging out. It wasn't just his face but his entire body that suffered this ordeal. It was as if he was a corpse which had been left to rot for several days. This appearance of his caused Mira to be alarmed and she couldn't help but call out his name from where she was being tied. But Ezra was too weak to respond as he was trying to stabilize the remaining Qi within his body. Although he had released most of it into the bandit leader's body, killing him, there were still large amounts within his body. And if he didn't find a way to stabilize it and release it then he would implode just like the man."Ack!" he coughed out mouthfuls of blood as he summoned strength into his legs, struggling to stand up. Before pulling that move of absorbing Qi he was already aware of the dangers. But he still chose to do it because he had seen Arthur use
