FEDERICK'S POV – CHAPTER CONTINUES

The tension in the room could be sliced with a blade.

Axel’s looming form shadowed Garry, whose clenched fists hinted at a barely contained fury. The boutique had gone silent, even the fashionists backing away like mice scurrying from a lion’s den. Shoppers paused, uncertain if this was a pre-scheduled show or the kind of drama that ends with broken glass and police sirens.

I could feel the shift in Garry's body language. He was itching to throw a punch. He didn't fear Axel — he never feared anyone — but I knew him better than he thought. Garry wasn’t just angered by the taunt. He was burdened by the stakes. If anything happened here, it wouldn't just be a bruised face or broken pride. Everything we’d been working on could come crashing down.

“Garry,” I called, my tone steady but low enough for only him to catch. “Not here.”

Garry didn’t turn, but I saw the slight twitch in his jaw, the restraint fighting to take hold.
