“You're fired!!”
A man barked at Kane, throwing him a sack letter. The man is Badmus Kenneth, the manager of Globulex Bank. Kane froze. His eyes shifted from the manger, down to the paper on the floor. He picked it and straightened up, looking at the manager with eyes widened with surprise and shock. “Sack letter? But what have I done to deserve this?" Kane asked, his eyes narrowed on the manager. Badmus scoffed, his expression cold and distant. "Are you questioning my authority?!” He snapped, eyes dark with rage. "Get the hell out of my office you riffraff!" Kane couldn't comprehend a thing. Earlier, the manager had sent his personal assistant to call him only to meet this. He was getting fired without being told the reason. Kane suffered to get that job despite having graduated from one of the best universities in the city with outstanding grades. For 2 years, he carried the job like an egg, working diligently and desperately to secure a promotion but this happened– getting fired. Kane slammed the paper on the table. "I have every right to ask why I'm getting fired!” He said and continued with a louder voice. "I worked my ass off for this organization for two good years. Is this all I get for being loyal?!!” He growled. “Are you talking back at me! You think you matter huh? You think you're the smartest here but I'm the master here and I make the command here." Badmus glared, his voice boastful. Kane forced a bitter laugh. Just a little. Then his expression darkened. “You're firing me because you feel I'm a threat to you? That I'm going to outrank your achievement? Really?" Kane laughed. “Get the heck out of my office otherwise I'm going to call the securities on you. Now!!” Badmus growled, pointing his index fingers at the door. Kane gritted his teeth and clenched his fist at his side as anger boiled inside. “You're going to regret this.” He began, taking a step closer. “I serve the clients to their satisfaction. I know how to handle this job better than anyone. I know how to deal with new customers and get them to trust us–” “Bluffs!” Badmus cut in sharply. “There is no more us. And do you even think you're worthy? Several complaints from our clients. They're backing out because a staff like you is incompetent and that is exactly why I'm getting you fired. So leave!" “Lies!" Kane retaliated, his breath shallow and sweat had clustered his temple, rolling down slowly. This job means a lot to him. He had done a lot just to keep it. What is he going to tell his wife? Juliana will be so disappointed in him. The thought of that alone made his heart tremble. Today is Juliana's birthday and he had promised to get her a necklace after getting paid today. “Alight. But can I have my pay since today is the end of the month?" He asked but Badmus didn't respond. He simply pulled out his phone. “Securities! Come to my office now and drag a fool out!" He said. Kane gulped hard. His boss sacked him and he's not going to pay him again. His sweats, his energy and struggles. All wasted! He recalled how impatient and harsh customers shout at him, abuse him when getting their transactions processed. The weight of everything crashed on him. Where is he going to start? He thought he was going to build something out of this job but that dream has just been shattered. He dragged his feet out of the manager's office. Immediately the door closed behind him, Badmus the manager smiled satisfactorily and leaned back on his chair, swirling on it gently. His focus was on the screen of a computer on his desk. It was an email from the CEO of the bank, informing him to promote Kane to the position of an assistant manager after receiving several astonishing and positive reviews from customers about Kane. “Idiot. I'm not going to watch a rat like him surpass me.” He cursed and leaned forward. Kane dragged himself to his desk and started parking his belongings. “Where is the worthless banker who thinks he's the star boy of Globulex going? Packing to the street? Huh?" Jack, his colleagues mocked him. He leaned lazily against the desk. Kane didn't respond to him. Not today. Not now. “You don't want to talk? Huh? That's it. You're dumb and worthless. You only think you're the smartest but you're just a fool.” He laughed and straightened up. "The manager wants me in his office. I guess it's a good call.” He brushed his shoulders against Kane, almost pushing him down but Kane suppressed his anger. He gritted his teeth, his anger boiling but he took a deep breath and picked up the file that fell when Jack hit his shoulder. Badmus fired him and now he is going to replace him with Jack. Stepping out of the bank, the breeze brushed against his face, a quiet reminder that he is no more a staff member of Globulex again. He felt it. The same grim feelings he felt while he roamed the whole city, desperately hunting for Job two years ago. Despite his outstanding résumé, no organization was willing to employ him. We don't need any more workers. You're good but we don't need your service. Come back tomorrow and let's see if we'll consider you. The sack letter felt like a lead in his pocket. As if the weight was why he was dragging his feet along the bustling street. Metaphorically, it is true. The hums of conversations, the blare of horn, the whirring of sirens and grumbles of car engines all faded in his ear. He was now thinking of the aftermath of the disaster. How would Juliana react when he tells her he got fired? He didn't linger much on that thought because he knew Juliana has been supportive and she always motivates him so she'll do the usual. He thought. Screeches! Six sleek cars gleaming under the ray of the sunlight pulled over at the curb, quietly calling quick attention. People stopped to watch– Hawker stared, shop owners were curious. It was as if the street just turned into a cinema centre. These cars are not ordinary cars. They're luxuries! “Isn't that the latest Maybach s680?! Oh my God! The owner must be swimming in wealth!” A girl blurted in surprise, raising her phone and making good use of the camera. “I heard one of those cars cost $500, 000! And.. There are six of them!! $3 million dollars on the street! Damn!” Another man admired in shock. Kane had also stopped. Then, the doors of the cars swung open at the same time. Cameras began to flash on the cars as men dressed black suits stepped out from the cars and the doors closed gently. They matched forward on a perfect horizontal line, led by one of them who looks like he's the boss because he was the only person wearing a crisp white suit. They move with quiet precision, at the same pace. The sound of their sparkling shoes on the floor was another rhythm that filled the air. They were advancing towards Kane. Kane's heart skipped a beat. “Oh God! What have I done?" Fear gripped him. Cameras didn't stop flashing, Murmuring did stop buzzing and Comments kept flying around. The men stopped before Kane who had clutched his bag to his chest out of fear. “Young master Kane. It's time to return home.” They all chorused and bowed to their waist. Kane was the most confused person in the world at that moment. “What.. what is going on?” He stuttered, his heart trembling with fear. The man in white raised his head and smiled at him. The other men remained in their bowing position. “I am James Voss, the butler of the Everest family and you're the next Heir of the Everest consortiums.”Latest Chapter

His cloth clung to his skin, soggy, dripping retained water.Benjamin looked at his body strangely. Blood blotted, telling stories of an attack he wasn't aware about. "Where I'm I," He toned, still assessing his body. "Did I just reincarnate into a human body?! Earth...." His voice caught under his breath. He shifted his look to the disturbing ocean, and he lifted his one arm mid-air. "Water," He mumbled, his eyes locked on the crashing turbulence which buffeted ships. "It worships me in Elyndra..." His voice grew firm and commanding as he focused on the crashing ocean waves. "...as the supreme Lord of Elyndra, I command you to stop!" Nothing happened. The ocean rolled
