CHAPTER FORTY

Tristan’s knuckles were bleeding, the skin tearing away as he hammered a decorative stone against the three-foot-thick wall of ice. Through the translucent barrier, he could see the warm glow of the foyer, but it might as well have been on the moon.

“You’re going to break that rock before you break that ice, Tristan.”

Tristan froze, his chest heavin

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXThe turquoise waters that had threatened to drown them began to recede with unnatural speed. What had been a churning, living sea drained away into invisible cracks in the black rock platform, leaving behind only puddles and the stench of blood and brine. Zane stood motionless at the center of the formation, iron broadsword still gripped tight, his eyes scanning the empty space where Edgar had been moments earlier. The formation had held. They had fought as one. And yet...Ignoring Sylphria’s presence and her offer, “Edgar!” Trigger shouted again. “Adult Kid, you better answer me right now!”Jinx dropped to one knee, running her fingers over the slick stone where Edgar had crouched. “He was right here. I felt his shoulder against mine when that last beast charged.”Sylphria’s laughter echoed through the vast chamber, light and mocking, like wind chimes over a grave.Zane’s jaw tightened. He lifted his head toward the fading mist where the spirit had last

  • Not Too Late To Say 'Yes'

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIVEThe turquoise vortex swallowed them whole, pulling the group into a submerged realm of crushing blue. Water closed over their heads like a living thing, pressing against their chests with the lingering fatigue from the Earth Trial.Every limb felt heavier, every breath a labored fight through liquid resistance.Zane broke the surface first on a wide, floating platform of slick black rock ringed by churning waves. “Stay close! Don’t let the water pull you apart!”Trigger hauled Edgar up beside her, water streaming from her serrated blades. “Adult Kid, you stay dead center. No hero shit. You hear me?”Edgar coughed violently, eyes wide with panic. “Yes… yes! I—I don’t know how to fight these things! I can barely swing a stick!”Jinx spun into position on Edgar’s left, her stance was low and steady despite the drag. “Then don’t swing. Just stay between us. We’ve got you.”The pressure bore down harder, sapping strength from their shoulders and thighs. Sylph

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOURZane’s absolute refusal to buckle tore a jagged fracture straight through the spiritual fabric of the arena. The unyielding stance of a man with no sin, carrying only the pure, burning fuel of his deep-seated regrets, was something the Trial of Earth simply could not digest. The clay-colored rock walls around him trembled violently, the judging whispers turning into a collective, panicked shriek as Zane's broadsword sliced through the heavy, stagnant air. With a deafening, tectonic roar, the crushing gravity anchoring him to the bedrock snapped. The physical and spiritual shockwave rippled outward across the isolated pillars.Instantly, the closing stone walls sealing away Edgar, Jinx, and Trigger shattered into millions of harmless, drifting fragments of brown dust. The suffocating pressure that had been grinding their spirits down vanished into thin air, throwing the entire first layer of the Yggdras-Core into a chaotic structural collapse.Because of Za

Her knees slammed into the brown stone with a jarring crack, and her dual serrated blades clattered against the floor as her fingers lost their grip.In front of her, the dark clay wall bubbled and cracked, displaying a vivid projection of a massive, blazing fire back on Earth. She was looking at the wreckage of her family’s facility. The flames roared unnaturally, casting a sickening orange glow across her face. In the center of the inferno lay the lifeless bodies of her parents and her sibling. The projection forced her to relive that exact, helpless moment—standing as a child, watching the fire consume everything she loved, her screams swallowed by the crackle of

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWOJust as Sylphria’s declaration echoed across the field, a jagged tear formed in the space behind them.Marcus stumbled through the closing rift, coughing up blood. He hit the glowing white grass hard, his dark eyes instantly locking onto the group.Sylphria tilted her head, her amber gaze sweeping over the uninvited guest.“Ah, the broken vessel returns. A mind wiped blank, yet dragged forward by compulsion. Splendid. The first trial will accommodate a fifth wheel.”She raised her pearlescent hand, and the empty field began to dissolve beneath their feet. The dark amber sky suddenly turned the color of compacted clay, and the glassy floor beneath them solidified into a crushing mass of brown stone.Sylphria’s voice cut through the space.“The path of trials is carved from the primordial elements of creation. If you wish to reach the forbidden knowledge, you must conquer all seven: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Void Shadow, Snow, and Lightning. Each layer is vas

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ONEZane, Trigger, Jinx, and Edgar materialized inside the hollow heart of the Yggdras-Core.The interior was breathtaking, an endless, soaring cavern forged from towering columns of translucent white bark. This was a monumental archive of forbidden knowledge. Floating platforms, tethered by nothing but ancient magic, drifted lazily through the vast open space, each one stacked precariously high with thousands of ancient books, glowing parchment scrolls, and strange, archaic artifacts.Millions of glowing particles drifted around the platforms like fireflies, illuminating rows upon rows of texts containing secrets of realms long dead.Zane lowered his iron broadsword slightly, his boots clicking softly against the polished wooden floor of the central platform. He looked up at the overwhelming expanse of floating shelves.“We're in. But looking for one specific document in a place this massive is going to be impossible. We have no idea how to find which book is
