When he arrived at the hospital, Louis saw his son in critical condition. His son needed immediate surgery, but the hospital asked him to pay the administrative fees first.

"Doctor, please save my son first. After that, I will try to find the money," Louis pleaded.

"It's not possible, sir. You must also settle the hospital fees first. This is hospital policy," said the receptionist.

"Alright. Wait a moment," replied Louis.

Louis decided to call Varrly. He had no money for the hospital fees. However, Varrly seemed to still be celebrating her birthday party.

"I can't give up. Damian really needs help," said Louis as he continued to try to contact his wife.

"Please pick up the phone, Varrly, for the sake of our son." Louis didn't give up and continued to call Varrly.

Louis's face lit up with joy, as if he had hope because Varrly had answered his call. But before Louis could speak, she said she was going to divorce him. Then she hung up again.

"Damn it! Why didn't you listen to me first?" said Louis.

Louis tried to call Varrly again, but now her number was inactive. Maybe she had turned off her phone.

"Mr. Louis, we couldn't save your son, Damian. He just passed away," said one of the nurses.

Hearing that, Louis's body went limp, and he even fell down. I lost my son? I'm such a bad father because I couldn't save my own son's life.

"Damian, wake up! Don't leave your father," said Louis, crying. He hugged his lifeless little son tightly.

"Sir, you'd better take care of your son's funeral," he said warningly.

Louis then took care of his son's funeral. Louis took care of it alone because neither Varrly nor her family showed any concern.

Varrly's face looked normal when Damian died. Even though Damian was also her biological son.

"Come to court tomorrow, don't be late. I want to finalize our divorce immediately," said Varrly casually.

Louis clenched his fists, trying to hold back his emotions. "I'm grieving, and you're still thinking about divorce? Damian is our son, he's dead, Varrly!"

"I know that, but our divorce is still more important. I also don't want to have a poor husband like you. You're just a lowly food delivery man," said Varrly.

"Aren't you even a little sad about Damian's death? You're his biological mother, Varrly."

Louis couldn't understand Varrly. Why was she so inhumane as a mother? While other mothers would cry hysterically at the loss of their son, Varrly seemed very calm, as if Damian wasn't her own biological son.

"What should I do? He was a useless child; why should I cry for him?" replied Varrly.

Louis could no longer contain his emotions when Varrly openly belittled Damian.

"You'd better leave," Louis said firmly.

"Fine, I was about to leave anyway." Varrly put on his sunglasses and prepared to leave.

"Damian couldn't stand having a bad father like you; that's why Damian chose to die." Varry laughed softly at her daughter's words, and the two of them left Louis behind.

Louis's eyes looked empty; he seemed very devastated, especially when he heard Evelyn's words.

Louis always tried to grant his adopted daughter's wishes. He loved his daughter as if she were his own child.

Louis then returned to Damian's grave.

"They caused my son's death! When I left, Damian was still at home. It must have been Varrly who kicked Damian out because they didn't want him to join the party," Louis said emotionally.

"Dad will definitely get back at them. You're happy there," he continued, gently stroking his son's gravestone.

Louis cried again, remembering his son. "Forgive Dad for not being able to fulfill your wish."

To buy the best gift for his wife, Louis refused his son's request to buy the toy he wanted.

"Dad will buy you the little robot you asked for later," Louis said softly.

It was raining heavily, but Louis still didn't want to leave his son's grave. He let his body get soaked by the rain.

"It turns out that all my sacrifices have been in vain. Varrly betrayed me! She chose to return to her first love," said Louis, crying.

Louis didn't even realize that he had slept at his son's grave all night. He then decided to go home.

"Oh my God, you're so dirty. Didn't you take a shower? That's disgusting," Evelyn said.

Louis only glanced at his adopted daughter, then went to his room.

"How dare he ignore me?" Evelyn grumbled with an annoyed expression.

Her mother said that Evelyn had to dare to fight Louis, because he was only her stepfather.

"Mom is going to marry Daddy Jack soon, and I'm sure I'll be much happier. All my needs will be met," said Evelyn enthusiastically.

"Honey, did you see that lowlife come home? Mom wants to talk to him," asked Varrly.

"He just got home, Mom. He looks disgusting. Maybe he's in his room," replied Evelyn.

Varrly then went to her room. She was going to ask Louis to come to the religious court so that their divorce could be finalized immediately.

Louis had just finished showering. He also no longer cared about Varrly or Evelyn. He was going back to his country.

"Don't forget to come to court this afternoon. Please refrain from creating any unnecessary drama that could complicate our divorce. After the divorce, you have to leave this house," said Varrly.

Louis certainly heard Varrly's words, but he had no intention of answering or even looking at Varrly.

"Now you can make breakfast for Evelyn first. She wants to eat your sandwiches and omelets," Varrly ordered casually.

Louis stared sharply at Varrly. "How dare you order me to cook. Just tell your new husband-to-be if he can be of any use to you."

After that, Louis left Varrly, who looked very upset.

"How annoying! He dared to insult Jack. He's nothing compared to Jack," Varrly grumbled.

Louis had decided to return to his true self. He would make Varrly and everyone else suffer the consequences.

"I'd better accept Mr. Dexson's offer," Louis said firmly.
