Trust

She stared right into his eyes as though she was in doubt and then requested...

"Any means of identity please?" She asked and immediately put forth her right hand as he reacted with gestures that shows he has something. Gabriel touched both sides of his trouser pockets trying to figure out where he kept his ID card...

"There it is. Here!" Gabriel half exclaimed with a smile on his face the minute he took it out of his left pocket and handed it over to her. No doubts she wanted to be sure he was the one because they all knew the guy they were expecting is a special client, they don't want to be talking to a third-party but to the right person, seeing they were going to be revealing sensitive information to him.

"Welcome sir. Sorry for the inconveniences, just following protocol. This way, I will lead you." She apologized and declared audibly while she led him to Mrs Finn's office at the third floor. The lady placed her hand on the door of Mrs Finn's office for a scan some minutes after they stepped out of the elevator, Gabriel could tell that this lady is a very important staff to have such access, he immediately desired to know her name because he knew he was going to be visiting Mrs Finn from time to time, but in the meantime, he could not ask because she was two steps ahead of him as they walked into the office to see a lady dressed in blue gown seated on an office chair with a large table in front of her and a few documents scattered all over, and in the midst of it, very close to her, an apple laptop. Her hair was blonde and her skin fair and spotless. The stretched out smiles on her face alone made Gabriel feel welcomed and comfortable even before she asked him to take his seat.

"No doubts you look responsible and more like a gentleman than I thought. You'd make a great gentleman by the way. Please take a seat Gabriel, nice to finally get to meet you face to face." Mrs. Finn asserted with hasty utterances as she shook his hands and watched him seat down in front of her desk before she sat down again.

"Nice to meet you too. You look younger than I expected by the way." Gabriel muttered in a way that is very humorous, Mrs Finn and the lady who lead him in, laughed instantly, Mrs Finn had to tell him immediately...

"Well, I will be forty next year, and it is no doubt I look younger than my actual age. Please place your thumb on that..." Mrs Finn said as she chuckled some more while she pushed a thumbprinting device connected to her system towards him.

"Um... Yeah." ...

"Got it. Thanks. Um... Miss Jain, where you able to get what I requested from Dr. Ben yesterday?" Mrs Finn asked and whilst she was talking, Gabriel made sure he took note of the lady's name who led him in.

"Yes. I did. It's in my office. I can go get it for you right away." Miss Jain replied.

"Oh no... you don't have to do that. I will need you here, you can get that for me later on." Mrs. Finn declared.

"Okay." Jain replied and sat down again.

"So, ummm, Gabriel. I do not mean to intrude, but then, could you tell me a little about your business and what you do to have this huge amount of money drop all of a sudden from an unknown and practically untraceable source. And maybe a brief information about your family and what they do, will do." Mrs Finn questioned him politely with a loving smile on her face.

Gabriel slouched back into the seat he was sitting on and had his two right fingers on his lips as he stared right into her eyes and wondering why she was asking and whether he could trust that she would understand and keep the secrets of whatever he was gonna tell them. And within those few seconds — about half a minute — of thinking of how he was going to reply to all those critical questions, the most disturbing question was that of his family, but he knew he's got to give them something anyways.

[Clear throat]

"Umm... What am about to say is very difficult to believe and is it okay with you that she is here with us?" Gabriel asked as he glanced at Jain before focusing on Mrs Finn again.

"Yeah, sure. I do trust her as much as I trust myself to keep secrets. Trust me, we are cool. I could have denied we received such amount of money transfered into our bank's name simply because you, our client, did not first have a meeting with us that you were going to be banking with us with such huge amount of money. I think that alone should be good enough reason why you should trust us. Don't you think?" Mrs Finn cleared his doubts.

Gabriel as an individual hardly finds it easy to believe people but this time he felt he should based on the fact that he's got no choice but to do so, and he doesn't want to prolong his explanations if by any means he should take up a decision to move the money to another bank, coupled with the fact that they look trustworthy and friendly already to him.

"I think so. Well, about the money, I was told I will be helped by someone very high above our reach, and now I am beginning to understand why that money was sent to me, beyond the robot project I just completed with the amount I requested prior to our meeting today if you could remember, Mrs Finn..."

"Yes of course, I do remember. And this robotic project of yours, do you have a video of it? If you don't mind, we would want proof that it was really used for what you say it was used for..." Mrs Finn asked hastily.

"No, I do not have a video, but you guys are welcome to come over to my house with me. But just you guys and no one else, because I would not want it out in public just yet. That way you guys can trust me too. So, do we have an agreement?" Gabriel asked. Mrs Finn thought about it in half a minute and nodded in agreement while hearing Jain say...
