The ride to the hotel was quiet.

Logan sat in the back seat, still trying to process everything that had happened.

His fingers brushed over the gold-stamped envelope in his pocket, and every now and then he looked out the window, watching the city lights blur past.

His life was about to change, these words echoed in his head over and over.

One of the men in black suits sitting beside him finally spoke. His voice was calm but respectful.

“Young master, Pa Lancaster ordered that you spend the night at one of the Lancaster five-star hotels in this area,” the man said. “That is where we are heading now.”

Logan nodded slightly, still overwhelmed. “Alright, thank you.”

“You will be taken good care of,” the man added. “Tomorrow morning, we will return to take you to a boutique for new clothes. Everything has already been arranged.”

Logan nodded again. “Thank you. I appreciate it.”

The man dipped his head. “It is our duty, young master.”

After a short drive, they turned into a grand entrance glittering with lights.

The car slowly rolled into a wide driveway with tall glass doors and fountains spraying water in elegant arcs.

Logan’s eyes widened as he stared through the window. The hotel was huge, luxurious, and alive with activity. He had never seen anything like it.

Never had Logan thought he would come to a place like this in his lifetime. Though he had dreams to one day be in places like this, he wasn't totally sure those dreams would ever come to reality.

But here he was in front of a fancy five star hotel where he would be passing the night.

When the vehicle stopped, one of the men stepped out and opened the door for him. Logan got down slowly, feeling like he had somehow stepped into another world.

The man handed him a black card with a golden crest engraved on it.

“Please show this to the receptionist. Once she sees it, she will immediately give you one of the best rooms in the hotel.”

Logan accepted the card carefully. “Alright, thank you.”

“We will return first thing in the morning,” the man added. “Rest well tonight, Young master”

Logan nodded one last time and watched as the fleet of cars slowly drove away, their taillights disappearing into the busy night streets.

Now standing alone, Logan looked up at the tall hotel building. It felt intimidating, shining like a palace he didn’t belong to. But he took a deep breath and stepped inside.

The lobby was stunning. Golden lights, marble floors, expensive perfumes in the air, and he could see people walking around dressed in expensive suits and dresses.

Logan swallowed nervously. He felt different, underdressed and out of place, but he walked toward the front desk.

A young woman with heavy makeup and a fake smile stood behind the counter. Logan approached politely.

“Good evening,” he greeted.

She turned, her gaze meeting that of Logan and her smile immediately disappeared.

Her eyes dropped from his face to his simple clothes. A cold, disgusted expression replaced the warmth she had shown the previous customers.

With that, she didn’t respond, totally ignoring Logan's presence.

Seeing this, Logan tried again. Maybe shebhad not seen him. “Good evening, ma’am. I…”

She cut him off sharply. “I’m busy. Wait.”

She turned away from him and started laughing with a couple who had just approached, giving them all her attention.

Logan stood there, ignored, embarrassed, and he was slowly beginning to get angry.

When she finally looked at him again, she scanned him from head to toe with disdain.

“This hotel is not for people like you,” she said bluntly.

The words hurt Logan like a running train and he clenched his jaw. “I just want to book a room.”

“No,” she replied firmly. “We don’t give rooms to low-lifes. Go somewhere else, read the room for Godsake”

Logan felt heat rise in his chest, but he tried to remain calm. He took out the card the man gave him and held it out.

“I was told to show you this,” he said.

To his surprise, the receptionist didn't even look at it, instead she scoffed loudly.

“Are you okay?” she hissed. “Are you trying to fool me? Get out of here!”

“I’m serious,” Logan said. “Just look at…”

“I SAID GET OUT!” she shouted suddenly, the words thundered out of her throat.

Her loud voice echoed through the lobby, and several people turned to look. Faces filled with curiosity and judgment.

Logan glared. “Can you just look at the card?”

She snatched it from him with irritation, glanced at it, and then burst into laughter.

“Oh my God!” she shouted. “You thief! You stole a Lancaster card, didn't you? You think something like this belongs to you?”

This even drew more people's attention, they all turned wondering what was going on at the receptionist desk.

Logan felt his blood boil. “I didn’t steal anything.”

“You know what?” she yelled. “If you don’t leave now, I will call security!”

“What is going on here?” a deep voice interrupted.

Everyone turned to see a man in a dark suit, he was older and stern-faced, walking down the stairs.

He looked like someone important.

“Mr. Collins,” someone whispered. “The manager.”

He reached them quickly and raised a brow “What is the problem?”

Both Logan and the receptionist began talking at the same time.

“He is causing a disturbance,” the receptionist said, pointing at Logan.

“She insulted me and refused to look at the card,” Logan said angrily.

The manager raised a hand, silencing them. He then turned to Logan.

“Sir, I am sorry. But this hotel doesn’t accept certain… categories of people.” He tried to say it politely, but the meaning hit Logan like a punch.

Logan stared at him, stunned. “Are you serious?”

“We have strict standards,” the manager replied calmly. “Please look for accommodation elsewhere.”

Something in Logan snapped immediately.

All the years of humiliation, all the insults, all the pain he had endured from people who thought they were better than him, everything rushed back like a flood.

“No,” Logan said firmly. “I was ordered to stay here tonight. And I’m not leaving.”

The manager frowned and gestured to the security guards nearby. “Escort him out.”

Before they could grab him, Logan looked down at the card again and that was when he noticed something he hadn’t seen earlier, a number written in small golden print.

It was a direct number. Logan immediately dialed it.

The manager gave a mocking smile. “Who are you calling? The police?”

Logan ignored him as the phone rang. Then a familiar voice answered.

“Logan? Is everything alright?” Pa Lancaster's voice came from the other side.

Logan exhaled shakily. “Grand father, I just arrived at the hotel, but they are refusing to let me stay. They called me a thief and said this place isn’t for people like me.”

“What?” Pa Lancaster’s voice turned sharp. “Put the manager on the phone. Now.”

Logan handed the phone to the manager. “He wants to speak with you.”

The manager looked irritated, but he took the phone, then his face changed instantly.

His eyes widened and his lips trembled.

“Yes, sir! No, sir! I am very sorry, sir! It will never happen again!”

The receptionist stared in confusion until she heard a name.

“Pa Lancaster??” she whispered, her face draining of color.

The manager slowly lowered the phone and handed it back to Logan. Then he turned with a furious glare at the receptionist.

“Kneel,” he said coldly.

She gasped. “Sir… please—”

“KNEEL OR PACK YOUR THINGS!”

The entire lobby went silent, everyone was stunned, unsure of what was happening, the turn of events came like a shock to everyone.

The receptionist immediately fell to her knees in front of Logan, shaking.

“I’m sorry,” she cried. “I’m so sorry, sir. Please forgive me. I didn’t know. I was wrong. Please forgive me!”

Logan stared at her, stunned. People were watching with shock and whispering among themselves.

The manager bowed slightly toward Logan. “Sir, please allow me to personally take you to your room.”

Logan didn’t say anything. He simply nodded.

“Right this way,” the manager said, gesturing politely.

The receptionist stayed trembling on the floor as Logan followed the manager toward the elevator. People stepped aside respectfully as he passed, whispering softly amongst themselves.

The elevator doors opened, and the manager guided him inside with a deep bow.

“Your room is on the top floor, sir.”

Logan stepped in, feeling a strange mix of emotions, anger, disbelief, and something new.

Power.

As the elevator doors closed, the manager bowed again.

“Welcome to your room, Mr. Logan Lancaster.”

"Nicholas," Logan called out, breathing hard. "I need a distraction. Anything, whether noise, fire, whatever you have. Just draw its attention upward."Nicholas looked at Rob and Tom. Rob for the first time had no smirk on his face. He just nodded and then Rob and Tom both opened up with their rifles, firing at the creature's face, targeting mostly its eyes and horns. This was actually done not to wound it but to make it look up. This wood serves as a distraction. The distraction logan needed. And It worked. The creature turned its head up toward the shots, its arms coming up instinctively to shield its face.Seeing the opportunity, Logan ran, He went straight at it again, pulled the sword back with both hands, and this time when he drove it forward he put every bit of force Greg had trained into him behind it. Nicholas was at Logan's side before the roar had even finished echoing through the trees."Commander." His voice was low and he was breathing a little too hard. "Your orders."Logan had his eyes on the creature, he could see that the creature hadn't moved towards them, it just stood at the edge of the clearing, its crimson eyes sweeping slowly across the soldiers. Logan gritted his teeth, he knew that if he wanted to beat this thing, then he would have to work smart rather than hard, fighting a creature as large as this doesn't require brute strength as it would definitely fail. So he began racking his brain, he thought about the layout, the clearing and how to command his soldier properly that would eventually yield good results. "Split them," Logan said. "Two flanks. Fifty on the left, fifty on the right. I want fire coming at it from both sides at the same time. Nothing from the front, that's where I'll be."Nicholas didn't question it. "And the five of us?""Rob, Tom and Jeffery

One moment he was in the white room and the next moment Logan saw himself in a different place. After stepping through the portal, he had been completely teleported to a strange environment.Right now, Logan stood completely still for a moment, just taking in where he was.He was standing in a forest so thick and dense that it felt like the trees had been growing for a thousand years. The trunks were massive, wider than cars, their bark was dark and rough. The branches reached out in every direction and Logan could see that the leaves above were fucking huge, spreading out like canopies that blocked almost everything above. Just how did this reality come to be?Logan was wowed. There was no sunlight coming through those thick shades. Not like there was any sunlight high in the sky anyway, it was just a grey sky sitting flat and heavy above the dense forest. Logan turned slowly, looking around. There was no sign of Damon. He hadn't expected Damin to be here anyway. Both portals had

Von Peters stood at the center, hands clasped behind his back, as his eyes moved all around every body. About Von Peters, ligan had asked his grandfather who exactly are the keepers. Pa Lancaster had explained that the keepers are a neutral family who are in charge of upholding and implementing the laws that governs all of the family. And this had explained to Logan how von seems to know everything and why it looked like he was in charge and at the same time not. Logan actually found the role of the keepers cool. Right now, Logan sat beside Pa Lancaster in the Lancaster section. Robert wasn't there today. It was just the two of them.
