Ken was still sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall. Before he could process everything further, his phone vibrated on the floor.

Usually, the unknown number like this were either loan offers or customers who sent the wrong address.

For some reason, this time he answered. The voice on the other end sounded calm and professional.

“Good afternoon. Am I speaking with Mr. Ken?”

Ken immediately sat up a little straighter.

“Yes. Who is this?”

“I’m Freya from the legal division of Aurora Logistics Group. We are contacting you regarding a change in the company’s shareholding structure.”

Ken’s heart beat a little faster, but he kept listening seriously.

“There are several documents you need to sign as part of the verification and authorization process.”

Ken didn’t respond immediately. His gaze went blank for a moment, as if connecting the pieces that had just happened.

“…so,” he said slowly, “this is about those shares?”

“That’s correct, Mr. Ken. You are currently registered as one of the shareholders of Aurora Logistics Group. Therefore, your presence is required for further administrative processing.”

Ken let out a slow breath, the corner of his lips lifting slightly.

“That was fast,” he murmured almost inaudibly.

“Excuse me?”

“Nothing. Please continue.”

The woman continued, “We would like to invite you to come to the Aurora Logistics headquarters tomorrow at 10 a.m. Our legal team will assist you through the entire process, including explaining your rights and obligations as a shareholder.”

“Alright,” he replied shortly. “I’ll be there.”

“Thank you for your time.”

The call ended, and the room fell silent again. Ken stared at his phone for a few seconds, then the corner of his lips lifted slightly.

The next morning, Ken wore his best outfit, simple, but clearly better than before, bought the night before with money he got with the help of the system.

He adjusted his collar slightly, then let out a slow breath as he looked at the Aurora Logistics headquarters building standing majestically in the middle of the city.

Now, he entered through the main entrance.

But as soon as he reached the reception desk, a young woman behind it lifted her head, glanced at him briefly, then returned her attention to her computer screen.

“What do you need?” she asked indifferently, without a smile.

Ken stopped in front of her.

“I have an appointment. With the legal division.”

The woman finally looked at him again. This time longer, from head to toe.

“Name?”

“Ken.”

Ken stated his name clearly. The woman’s fingers moved quickly across the keyboard. A few seconds passed, then she frowned.

“Not listed.”

Ken frowned slightly.

“I was contacted yesterday. By Miss Freya, from the legal division.”

The woman stopped typing. Her tone changed slightly, but not into politeness, rather into doubt.

“Miss Freya from legal?”

“Yes.”

She leaned back slightly in her chair, looking at Ken with a different expression.

“Sir, if you want to get in here, don’t make up the names of insiders.”

“What do you mean?”

“My meaning is clear,” she replied, now with a slightly mocking tone. “The legal division isn’t someone just anyone can contact. Especially…”

Her gaze went up and down, judging Ken’s appearance again.

“…outsiders.”

Some people in the lobby began to glance over.

Ken remained standing where he was.

“I’m not making anything up.”

The woman scoffed softly.

“If you really had an appointment, it would be in the system. But your name isn’t there.”

“I was contacted directly.”

“Oh really?”

Now she smiled faintly, but it was clearly not friendly.

“In a dream?”

Some passersby began to smile, some even chuckled.

Ken let out a slow breath, holding back his emotions to stay calm and polite.

“I don’t have time for this. Please check again.”

Hearing that, the woman immediately frowned and sneered.

“Sir, I also don’t have time to deal with people who come without a clear appointment.”

“There is an appointment.”

“Proof?”

Ken fell silent for a moment. Indeed, he had no proof except the phone call. Besides, he lacked experience in matters like this, that was why last night he didn’t ask many questions and simply agreed.

The woman immediately caught that pause and became convinced Ken was lying.

“There isn’t any, right?” she said. She pointed toward the door and rudely added, “If you don’t have a clear purpose, please leave. Don’t disturb operations.”

Ken looked at her for a few seconds.

“So you won’t allow me to enter?”

“No,” she replied quickly. “Not without proof.”

“Alright.”

Ken took out his phone. Not to argue further, but to contact the only person who mentioned his name yesterday.

At the same time, whispers began to be heard around him.

Ken ignored them. He simply stood there, waiting for the call to connect, while behind the desk, the receptionist continued to look at him with a condescending expression.

The ringing tone stretched in his ear, but there was no answer. He pressed redial, but it still wasn’t picked up.

The receptionist had lost her patience. She let out a rough breath, then pressed a button beside her.

“Security,” she said coldly. “Please come to the front lobby.”

A few seconds later, two security officers approached.

The receptionist pointed directly at Ken.

“Take this man out. He’s lying and disturbing other visitors.”

One of the officers stepped forward.

“Sir, please come with us.”

Ken didn’t move. His gaze remained calm, but his feet seemed rooted to the floor.

“I’m not leaving.”

The officer exchanged glances with his partner. His tone hardened. One of them began to raise his hand, about to touch Ken’s shoulder, but Ken slightly shifted his body to avoid it.

“Don’t make this difficult, Sir.”

The receptionist stood up from her chair, her face annoyed.

“If he still refuses, just force him out!”

Ken took a slow breath. If they really forced him, he wouldn’t stay still.

Just as the tension was about to break, a voice came from behind.

“Oh… Ken. What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at home… reflecting on your fate?”

Ken slowly turned his head, and when he saw the face his eyes narrowed slightly.

Don’t make yourself even more embarrassing!”The room fell slightly silent. They glanced at Miles, waiting for his reaction, but he just stood there with an expression that was hard to read.On the other hand, instead of feeling offended or angry, Ken actually let out a soft chuckle. It wasn’t loud, but it shifted the atmosphere. He shook his head lightly, then looked at Lizzy calmly.“Embarrassing? The one who should feel embarrassed isn’t me.”His gaze shifted, sweeping across them one by one, before settling back on Lizzy.“The one who feels guilty is the one who should be embarrassed. I’m not wrong, and I’m not the one at fault, so why is it embarrassing? Besides, I’m not the one who wanted to come here.”The sentence sounded simple, but it clearly stung. Lizzy immediately fell silent, her face sti

If I were you, I’d have disappeared from the city already.”Ken didn’t respond. The man clicked his tongue, then stepped back.“Ah, whatever. Different level anyway.”Ken was being humiliated, but Lizzy also felt embarrassed. Unfortunately, the woman couldn’t do anything but let out a small laugh, even though there was a hint of awkwardness on her face. After a moment, her hand grasped Miles’ arm.“Sorry…” she whispered softly, her voice slightly coquettish. “I know I was wrong. No need to drag this out, okay…”Miles turned to her, one eyebrow slightly raised.“You’re apologizing now because you’re afraid I’ll make trouble with your ex?”“No. I don’t care what you want to do to him.
