And just like Ron had seen the glaring information on his computer, Elena was indeed their enemy. Not Ron's enemy, but one he had to fight against and embody, all because his mentor had been her target five years ago when she arrived in the country.
Who would have thought Elena was a spy sent by a rival organization to kill the mafia Don who had mentored him? However, she didn't succeed, and his mentor went on to live five more years in prison, teaching him all that he knew, but unfortunately, he died. But why didn't she succeed? Was it the universe's doing or Ria's wicked actions working in his favor? The two sisters who had acted all loving before him five years ago were at each other's throats the moment Elena discovered Ria had set her up with Ron. When Elena tried to leave, Ria held her down, made her unconscious, and locked her up for months. It didn't take too long before Elena found out she was pregnant, and instead of letting her sister go, Ria chose to sell her off after childbirth, and the child, who turned out to be Hera, was maltreated and malnourished for years. Their parents never asked questions and never breathed a word about Elena and Hera's well-being, and Ron wondered if they were really part of the Jones family. "What's your decision, Ron?" Hunter asked, his eyes narrowed, hoping Ron wouldn't have mercy on Elena. "Though she didn't complete the mission, it doesn't mean she isn't from a rival organization, and the moment you take on the position as Chairman, they will come after you, too." "You can't let her go scot-free." "Of course..." Ron smiled, his lips curling with a dangerous edge. He had accepted the mantle of becoming the chairman of Storm Creed, and he had to wield his sword without emotions. It didn't matter if Elena was Hera's biological mother, she was his enemy, and that was the only thing that counted. "Find Elena and bring her to me quietly. I will decide her fate. I will watch her beg for the child she denied and regret it before discarding her." His hands fisted on the sides of his computer, his eyes glazing with fire. Hera didn't deserve to have such a mother. "And Ria?" Hunter chimed in. "We can't forgive her for maltreating Hera. That child has suffered too much." Ron smiled, seeing that the cruel businessman had taken a liking to his adorable daughter. He couldn't help but look honorably on Hunter. "Of course, she has to suffer her fate too..." He nodded. "However, not so soon. Ria's punishment has to come slowly. Let her think she has the whole world in her hands, then it would come crashing on her like dust from a sand castle." Ron didn't forget he had gone to prison on her behalf and she turned out to be an ungrateful bitch. He would make sure she suffered for that too. His wicked laughter echoed in the study room and Hunter couldn't help the shiver that ran down his spine. He had seen men cut down on people but there was something about Ron that made him think twice and be wary. After all, he had been the lord over the deadliest prison in the country, he must have gone through the sheer cruelty of life. He realized he had to do everything in his power to stay on Ron's favorable side. "Tomorrow, we will be visiting Creed's empire, to announce my takeover." Ron stood up to his feet. "You can prepare for that, right?" "Of course!" Hunter nodded enthusiastically. "I will set up a welcoming party for you as well. Everyone needs to witness your ascension." Ron smiled, waving his hand nonchalantly. He didn't care about any sort of party, however, he didn't stop Hunter because he knew organizing things like this was essential to the business, to build future cooperation and potential allies. "I will have Elena at your feet by tomorrow. I promise." Hunter declared as Ron walked out of the study room. However, as he got to Hera's room, his eyes turned gentle, silently apologizing to the little girl about what he was going to do to her mother. But it had to be done. ___ The next day... A few men were right outside the house and they quickly ushered Ron into the car and drove straight to Storm Creed's tower. It was a 50-storey building, the powerhouse of the country's aerospace network and everyone was waiting on him, ready to welcome him. Ron walked in, under the eyes of the five shareholders, some waiting to latch onto him like an angry and hungry dog, and some waiting for his mistake, so they would tear him down and send him away. Everyone wanted their hands on the Creed empire, but who would have thought Mr. Creed would award that position to an unknown man? "Everyone, welcome Ron Night, the new Chairman of Storm Creed," Hunter announced as a lawyer went around placing documents on the table, tending the last chairman's will of giving everything to Ron. "Why do you think you are capable enough to take this position?" One of the shareholders burst out as he couldn't hold onto his burning fury. "There is more to this than it meets the eye.” “A young inexperienced man like yourself, wouldn't know what it takes to become the chairman of this empire." Ron tapped his finger calmly on the table, his eyes narrowing, "Do you want me to prove myself to you, Mr. Dane?" Dane gasped in shock, after all, he never thought Ron would know his name but Ron who had decided to take this dangerous position, wouldn't appear there uninformed. "Yes..." Dane stuttered. "You have to prove yourself to us." His words were backed up by the other shareholders who only had their selfish interests at heart. But Ron wasn't fazed, his lips curled, "I understand that you all have worked with Mr. Creed for years but unfortunately he died in prison. He found me worthy of taking over his position, so why should I prove myself to you all?" "You all have to prove yourself to me instead..." His eyes roamed over every one of them, taunting and daring. "Whether I should keep you all around or discard you all like rags." The shareholders could feel the danger emanating from Ron and they quickly realized they couldn't cross him but then they had their hands on deck. They would drag him down, the minute they got the chance. The meeting proceeded smoothly and at the end, they scheduled another meeting which was going to be held at night. "I have an important announcement tonight. We will be raising the sharp horns of the Creed empire tonight, our enemies will take a hit." Ron said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes as he walked out, leaving the shareholders wondering how crazy Ron was, much more than the former chairman. Hunter rushed after him, "We found Elena. Do you want to see her now?"

Elena Is Our Enemy
Ron’s jaw clenched as he calmly shut the door to Elena’s room. There was no use running after her and her sudden escape had only confirmed something he had been suspecting. Elena wasn’t pretending. She knew exactly what she was doing and she knew Hera was her daughter. She may have been weak when she stood before Nathan West, but ever since they got back to the house, Ron had noticed how sharp and attentive she was. Her movements were quick and swift and her words piercing. She didn't seem like a normal maid. It was also commendable that she was able to escape under his watch. “What are you hiding, Elena?” He whispered to himself as he went back to his room. He took the small ziplog bag he had in his bedside drawer, raising it in the air to inspect it. For the years he had spent in prison, he had learned to never trust what he saw and he would always have a backup plan. The bag contained Elena’s hair which he had secretly taken when she was not looking and now, whether she liked
Elena Is Gone
Ria turned back to her friends, folding her arms like a Queen overseeing her kingdom. “Don’t worry, girls. Terry is going to get this scoundrel out of here. Who knows, he would want to get into our party using force?”Ron almost rolled his eyes at Ria, but he controlled himself. There was no use talking brain-rot with someone like her. And now, he was concerned about Elena who hadn't stepped out of the house ever since. Did she notice Ria or was she just taking too long? So, he turned around, wanting to go back in to find her. Of course, he wouldn't let Ria see her. All he wanted to do was make sure she was safe. But as soon as he stepped back, Ria came barreling toward him. “Where are you going? Are you trying to run away before the guards get here?” She yelled, her voice echoing through the open air of the estate.Ron stared at her, his brows creased, “You know, if the guards were to come here, you would be the one thrown out, right?”“Really? Do you even have the power to call
What About Elena?
Ron pursed his lips as he looked from the phone and back to Ria, “Why should I answer you?” “What?” Ria gasped. “Who gave you the balls to be so defiant?” “Defiant?” He shrugged. “I just don't answer to you, that’s it.” “But you must answer to this, Ron.” Ria snarled. “Why were you with Mr. Hunter and even Nathan West was bowing to you! Is there something you are hiding from me?” Ron couldn't help but see Ria for who she was now. She thought she had the world under her feet and she had control over everything. But then, he decided to test her, to push her over the edge to confirm his suspicion. “I don’t know Hunter.” He said. “But I went there to see Nathan West specifically. After all, you told me Elena was with the West family.” “Elena?” Her friends gasped, looking at each other fearfully. Ron quickly caught their expressions and was about to ask questions when Ria cut in. “What…what about Elena? Did you find her?” Her eyes darted around nervously. Ron studied her express

“What do you mean?” Ron frowned. “You know Ria, right? I used to be Ria’s boyfriend.” “I…I don’t know what you are talking about.” Elena shook her head, her eyes darting to look away. Ron pursed his lips, looking from Hera to Elena. Yes, Hera had some similar features with Ria but looking at Elena, she could see how they looked so much alike. He was convinced Elena was Ria’s mother. But it didn't seem like Elena was faking her words. She didn't even bat an eye when she spoke in Hera’s face. “Don’t you see the resemblance—”“Look, Mr. Ron…” Elena took a deep breath, her fists clenching beside her. “I appreciate that you bought me off like a commodity but you can’t force an identity on me.” “I am not anyone’s sister or mother and I certainly do not know you.”As soon as she was done speaking, she walked past Ron but he quickly caught her by the arm. “Where are you going?” He raised a brow at her. “You can’t step into that house anymore.”“Why? Because you bought me?” Elena sneered
