"Have you decided on a punishment for the teacher and the Hudsons yet?"

That was the first thing Tedmond asked as soon as he returned home. Though he had gone out, the issue hadn’t left his mind. Those people had treated Bianca terribly, and he needed to deal with them—fast.

Thomas helped him take off his jacket, grinning from ear to ear. "Welcome home, young master. How was your date?"

Tedmond flinched, suddenly feeling shy. "It was okay." Clearing his throat, he repeated his question.

"I handled them perfectly," Thomas replied. "It would be best if you saw what I did to them yourself, young master."

Nodding, Tedmond headed up the stairs. "How is Bianca doing?"

"She woke up already, had dinner, played a game with the boys, and went back to sleep," Thomas replied, walking after Tedmond with a faint smile on his face. "She asked for you, and when I mentioned you went on a date, she only grinned at me and asked if the person you went out with was Miss Damon."

A smile curled up his lips.

“There are just several documents to take care of. Just like usual, I’ve made a summary of them all, and you just need to go through them and point out anything.” Thomas hurriedly added. “Also, you’ve been invited to a party tomorrow night. It’s a meetup for people in high society.”Those words brought a frown to Tedmond’s face. He had tons of files to go through, and now he was invited to a party by someone he had no idea about.“Is the party really necessary?” He questioned, taking his seat in the chair prepared for him. “I don’t think I’ll go.”“You have to,” Thomas replied. “Even if it’s just for a second. You have to show up and leave afterward.”Not having any more words to say since Thomas had already come up with a solution, Tedmond leaned back in his seat and picked up one of the documents. As soon as he stared at it, a frown crossed his face, and he looked at Thomas.“Did you purchase another company?” he inquired.Nodding his head, Thomas took the seat opposite Tedmond. “Ye

Neil froze at the mention of not heading to bed anymore, his face turning pale. He hadn’t expected Tedmond to change his mind so suddenly. He thought he had gotten away with avoiding the report, but now he would get scolded for not working on it."Why aren't you going to bed anymore, Boss?" Neil asked, forcing a smile to hide the fact that he hadn’t finished his report. "The report still needs to be edited, and you might be late tomorrow if you sleep late."Tedmond arched a brow. He had expected Neil to try to get out of writing the report—he was, after all, someone who had never done much work when he was still with his family."I can read the report without it being proofread," Tedmond said, holding out his hand. "I saw you leave with the flash drive. Can I have it now?"Neil glanced at the flash drive in his hand, groaned, and reluctantly walked back to Tedmond."Fine."*****Sitting in front of the computer, Tedmond inserted the flash drive and opened the document Neil had just re

The moment their gazes met his, one of them brightened immediately.“Oh, Duncan!” Lucas called out, beaming. “Did you finally get out of your room after all this time? I thought you planned to stay locked up for a while.”Duncan’s eyes fell on his second elder brother, Bryan, who wore a smug expression.“If Bryan told you that, he’s lying,” Duncan said flatly. “I came down to get some water and, at the same time, discuss what you two have decided to do with the evidence.”Hearing this, the smile faded from Lucas’s face, and he tilted his head. “I should’ve expected that to be the first thing you’d ask. But comparing him to Tedmond? That was new.Max swallowed hard. "You're seriously bringing up Tedmond?" He let out a humorless chuckle. "You hate him. You spent years making sure he knew he wasn’t wanted. And now you're saying you wish he were your son instead of me?"Harold's expression twisted with disgust. "I despise that bastard, but at least he knows how to take advantage of an opportunity. You, on the other hand, keep embarrassing me." He sneered. "If he weren't such a stain on my reputation, I'd say he played his cards better than you ever could."Max's fingers twitched at his sides. He wanted to hit something. Anything. But he knew better. He raised it high and smashed it onto the ground. Shards of glass scattered everywhere as he glared at the broken pieces."Tedmond!" he snarled. "Not only did you cause trouble for me when you were in this house, but now you’re causing even more trouble from the outside!"Running a hand through his hair, he turned toward the door."If he’s Father’s backup son, then I’ll just have to get rid of him," he muttered. As soon as the words left the man’s lips, Tedmond gave him a blank expression. He had never seen the man before and had no idea who he was. However, one question caught his attention. The man had just asked what he was doing in a house that was supposed to belong to someone else. Holding roses and mentioning Persis' name was enough for Tedmond to understand what the man wanted and what was going on.“Even if you’re a driver picking us up, why are you so damn dressed up like that?” the man demanded, pointing the bouquet of flowers at Tedmond. “Why are you overdressed? Are you trying to seduce your boss?”Hearing the man’s question, Tedmond arched a brow and glared at him. They didn’t know each other, yet the man had the audacity to make assumptions.“If you’re done delivering the flowers, you can leave,” Tedmond replied. “Or hand them over—I’ll give them to her when she gets here. It wouldn’t be right to keep you waiting when you have other jobs to do.”As soon as Tedmond spoke, the ma

Back outside, Tedmond continued to ignore the brown-haired man. No matter how loud or insistent he was, Tedmond glanced at his wristwatch, checking the time.“Hey! Aren’t you listening to me?!” the man snarled. “Is that watch more important than what I’m saying?!”Tedmond raised his head and looked at him, nodding. “You were talking, but I wasn’t interested in hearing anything.”The man’s glare darkened, and his teeth clenched. “What could you possibly understand? You’re just an ordinary driver.”Just then, the sound of clicking heels drew their attention. Both men turned toward the source of the sound.Persis was stepping out of the building. The brown-haired man’s face lit up, and he rushed toward her. “You’re here!”However, she brushed right past him and stopped in front of Tedmond.Holding his hand, she peered up at him with a bright smile. The brown-haired man froze, his face turning pale. Before Tedmond left, he stopped by Otis’s ward—and to his surprise, none of the family members were there. He had thought they all cared about Otis, which was why they had ganged up on him. But it turned out they didn’t care about Otis at all. They probably just wanted to keep him alive for their own reasons.Standing at the doorway, Tedmond looked in and saw Otis lying on the bed, the blood transfusion steadily flowing into his veins. His frown deepened. Not only had Otis harmed him to get him in trouble with the relatives, but he had also ended up receiving his blood. The memory made Tedmond feel irritated all over again. However, on second thought, he felt a bit better. He had managed to take a small dose of revenge on Otis. Once everything in Otis's name was transferred to him, Tedmond doubted the family would have any use for Otis anymore.Just then, Tedmond recalled the seal on the document. Adeline wasn’t the type to make a mistake, especially not by stamping a forged document.

“Young Master, the documents are real—but the signature on the final page… it’s forged.”Thomas’s voice was cautious but steady.Tedmond’s frown deepened. “Forged?”“Yes,” Thomas confirmed. “The rest of the paperwork is legitimate—real estate records, asset transfers, bank notifications. Everything checks out. But the final signature... it’s not Otis’s. Someone replicated it. Expertly, I might add.”Tedmond sat still for a moment, his eyes fixed on the wall across from him. His fingers drummed against the armrest of the chair.“So they tried to trick me,” he muttered, a cold smile forming on his lips. “They thought I wouldn’t check.”“You did the right thing by sending it to me,” Thomas said. “If you had submitted that document anywhere official, they could’ve accused you of attempted fraud.”Tedmond leaned back. “Which means they never intended to hand over Otis’s assets in the first place. It was just bait.”“Yes.”He narrowed his eyes. “Let them come and try to retrieve it, then.”

Adeline had thought it all through before deciding to provide the fake documents. And since Tedmond didn’t question it and even took his own copy, it was easy for her to realize that he had no idea whether the documents were valid or not.“How would he know?” she asked herself, her lips stretching into a wide grin. “He took the file from me without knowing it was fake.”Hearing that, the rest of the family grew curious. Harold, however, frowned almost immediately.‘Does that mean Tedmond didn’t manage to snatch anything?’ Harold thought, disliking the idea.“What are you talking about?” Tina asked, still not getting it. “How are the documents fake?”Gerald ran a hand through his hair. He had been terrified for a moment, but it seemed Otis’s assets were still safe.“I think I understand what she means,” Gerald spoke up. “Since Otis isn’t conscious and, as his father, I didn’t sign the document, there’s no way Tedmond would get all of Otis’s assets.”That was when the others smiled, mo

You’ll need to rest for a while,” Doctor Richie said, glancing at Tedmond, who was buttoning up his sleeves.Tedmond frowned slightly, his gaze falling on the three full blood bags resting on the nurse’s tray. He knew they needed his blood, but three bags? That felt excessive.A flicker of suspicion crossed his mind. Had the doctor conspired with someone from the Griffin family to weaken him by drawing so much blood?“Although we collected a little more than usual, your blood levels are still strong,” Doctor Richie added. “You’re remarkably healthy. Not everyone could handle this.”‘A healthy donor?’ Tedmond thought, looking away.He had no intention of donating blood again—especially not to a Griffin. The only reason he agreed this time was so he could use it against Ottis later.Leaning back in the chair, Tedmond remained silent, his mind unsettled. His gaze lingered on Doctor Richie, as if trying to read the man’s true intentions.“When ca

Who knows what she might hand over? Max doesn’t even have anything from the main family, and now that bastard is going to get something?”Then she noticed Harold’s face.He wasn’t upset. In fact, he was smiling brightly.“What are you grinning about?” Evelyn questioned, eyes wide in shock. “Are you okay with that illegitimate child having something Max doesn’t have?”It was only then that Harold seemed to register her words.“W

“You’re an illegitimate child,” Richard sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. “No matter what, you’d have to donate your blood anyway. It’s not like you have a choice. Don’t act like you’re doing us a favor.”Gerald added, “Yeah, Ottis is in trouble because of you. It’s time you stepped up.”“It's something that you must do,” Tina added, her grin widening since the others were taking her side. “The illegitimate child has to support the legitimate children.”Nodding her head, Evelyn liked how things were going. She even wished that Tedmond could donate his blood so that he would lose tons of blood. It reminded her of the time in the past when she had taken a certain person's blood for no valid reason. The mere thought of it brought a sinister smile on her face.“You know it is the right thing to do, right?” Evelyn said. “Ottis is in critical condition, and you have to donate the blood to him.”Harold remained silent, watching the exchange unfold. At the same time, Tedmond was led into the doctor’s office by a nurse. She held the door open, nodded politely, and left without a word.He narrowed his eyes as she walked away. Odd. No greeting, no explanation. Just silence. Before he could dwell on it, a voice snapped him back.“You’re here, Mr. Tedmond,” the head doctor said, glancing up from a file.Tedmond gave a small nod.“Have a seat,” the doctor said, gesturing to the chair across his desk.Tedmond sat, posture relaxed but gaze sharp. He didn’t like surprise meetings, especially not from anyone connected to the Griffins. If Thomas had known the doctor would call him, he would’ve warned him. The silence meant one thing—this was orchestrated by the Griffins.“This isn’t just a friendly chat,” Tedmond said dryly. “What do you want?”The doctor offered a faint smile. “It’s about Ottis.”Tedmond waited.“You’re listed as one of the emergency blood matches in our system, based on an old check-up. While other things were going on, Tedmond stood outside the hospital with one hand in his pocket. He considered heading back home since he had nothing to do at the hospital. However, on second thought, he changed his mind.He was certain his men had beaten up Ottis, but not so severely that it would require a blood transfusion.'Ottis must have done something else to make himself bleed that much.' Tedmond thought. He couldn’t help but wonder if Ottis had intentionally worsened his injuries to get back at him.Pulling out his phone, Tedmond dialed Thomas’s number. Since he didn’t have the bodyguards’ contacts, he couldn’t reach them directly. If he’d known he’d need to contact them again, he would’ve gotten their numbers. But now, it was too late.“Young master,” Thomas answered on the second ring.“Did you see the report from the bodyguards?” Tedmond asked, his voice low and calm.“Yes, young master.
