"Don't try to play the victim here, Morgana!" Drakon shouted, his voice hoarse with pain.

"Before I was cast out, did I not give you everything you ever wanted, even the things you never asked for? Was there ever a moment I didn’t try to make you happy?"

His voice trembled as he struggled to hold back the tears already pouring from his eyes.

Without giving her the chance to respond, he pressed on.

"I still remember our first night… the way you whispered that I was the best thing that ever happened to you. You said you would stay by my side until we grow old and die.”

"And even after I lost everything, my inheritance, my properties, my money, you stayed. You held my hand and told me you loved me."

He laughed bitterly. "And I believed it. All of it."

He poured it all out, even though he knew his words couldn't change the truth right in front of him.

The pain.

The love.

Everything he had ever felt for her.

"But now I see it clearly. It was all fake."

The truth struck him all at once, the reality he had refused to acknowledge until now.

From the beginning, she had only loved him for his wealth. She stayed after his downfall because she thought the Thorne family would eventually take him back one day. To her, he had been nothing more than a stepping stone.

"You can say whatever you want," Morgana finally replied. "But I never loved you. Not from the beginning. The man I truly love… is him."

She moved closer to the man beside her and shamelessly wrapped her arms around him.

"I, Morgana, don’t love you.”

Morgana shamelessly placed a kiss on the man’s lips, her hand slowly wrapping around his neck.

Drakon grew even angrier when he saw this. The pain he was feeling in his heart right now was greater than the one he felt when he was disowned by his family.

His eyes shifted to the man she was holding and his entire body trembled greatly.

"No. Impossible!" he shouted.

What is he doing here?

It was someone he never expected.

"Morgana, don’t let this loser spoil your mood," the man said as he slowly caressed her face, his other hand running lazily over her smooth skin.

"You... you..." Drakon pointed with his trembling finger.

"Jason, how dare you!"

"How dare I?" Jason finally laughed out loud, his eyes filled with disdain.

"Wake up, loser. You’ve always been trash. Don’t act surprised now, bro." That was all Jason said before kissing Morgana’s neck to provoke him further.

The pain in Drakon’s heart doubled… no… tripled, or even worse.

"Jason, why…" He stopped himself from speaking further. Showing weakness would only make them happier.

As expected, from the moment Drakon stepped in and caught them, Jason's eyes had been focused on him, taking pleasure in his pain.

He wanted nothing more than to see more pain on his face, which was why he continued teasing Morgana in front of him.

Morgana had cheated on Drakon with his own cousin, the same man who stole his inheritance, his identity, his future.

Unable to tolerate them any longer, Drakon turned and walked away, his face wet with tears.

Why should he remain there, trading empty words or watching them tear into each other?

Just before he stepped out of the room, Morgana’s voice cut through the air, cold and final. "It’s over between us."

"Now, baby, we don’t need secret meetings anymore. After this, we’ll go out and celebrate this sweet moment," Jason added, kissing her softly in an unhurried manner.

Hearing them, Drakon felt like coughing out blood from the pain.

He halted, pulled out his phone and turned to face them.

The shutter of the camera clicked as he took a picture of them.

"Since you want to destroy me, then I won’t hesitate to show the whole world how shameless you two are." His icy voice rang out, as if he had become a completely different person.

Morgana almost jumped out of bed in alarm, but Jason remained completely calm.

"Drakon, don’t you dare…"

"Baby, calm down. Let the loser do whatever he wants and walk out like a defeated dog," he snarled wickedly, dragging her back onto the bed to continue.

Drakon walked out of the mansion weakly under the watchful eyes of his mother-in-law. He didn’t even hear the hateful words directed at him.

It was already dark. He felt empty, drowned in helplessness as he left the compound in a heartbroken state.

Forty-five minutes later, he could be seen wandering the city aimlessly with no particular direction in mind, not even paying attention to where he was going.

Unbeknownst to him, a black car had been trailing him for the past thirty minutes.

As he turned into a dark corner, the car sped up, and three muscular men dressed completely in black jumped out and immediately went for him.

"Stop right there!"

Turning, the moment he saw them, he knew he was in danger.

Without hesitation, he fled for his life. "Why are these guys after me?" he panicked.

They were faster.

A brutal punch to his back sent him crashing to the ground.

"Motherf*cker, you thought you could escape?" one of them snarled.

He tried to fight back, but they overpowered him instantly, dragging him into a darker alley.

"Ahhh!" he screamed as they punched and kicked him mercilessly.

The pain was unbearable. No part of his body was spared.

The torture continued until his entire body was battered. His face was bloodied, his ribs screaming with every breath of pain he was experiencing.

"I’m tired of this. Let’s end him now and go collect our balance," one said.

"No, don’t kill him quickly. We were told to give him a slow, painful death. Let him die in agony."

"Yeah, that sounds better," came a devilish laugh.

Minutes later, he began to find it difficult to breathe.

"He’s almost dead. Time to go."

They took a picture of him and removed something from his pocket before leaving him in his own cold blood, just a step away from death’s door.

"Is this how I die?" he whispered unwillingly, his vision blurred.

It felt as though the shadow of death was about to claim his soul at any moment as blood poured out of his body.

Suddenly...

A cascade of blue words flickered across the darkness, like a light breaking through his fading vision.
