From Nothing to Powerful Heir

Chapter 3

By this time, Nolan was already in the car. He blinked his eyes, looking at the woman sitting next to him very seriously. 

Of course, Nolan didn't believe what Jessy was saying. He even knew that Jessy was a woman who had a position and came from a prominent family. 

"What do you mean? I know you're telling lies." Nolan didn't take his eyes off Jessy. 

Nolan was an ordinary employee. His position was even lower than Gaston's. Of course, he didn't deserve any feelings from Jessy. And he knew clearly that a woman like Jessy would never fall in love with a poor man like him. 

Jessy smiled at Nolan. A slight nod could be seen there as well. "You have good judgment on me."

Nolan swallowed a little disappointment after hearing Jessy's answer, which confirmed that a woman like her would certainly not be interested in a man like Nolan. 

But Nolan behaved very calmly, looking at her for an explanation. Nolan knew very well that Jessy had a good reason. 

She crossed her legs, setting her black Croco bag aside as a barrier. "I know, if it's some big project at Stellar Enterprise, it's your job."

Nolan marveled at what he had just heard from Jessy. He didn't expect her to know. 

During all this time, all the projects were deliberately hidden, even though he was the one who made them. Everything was manipulated as if Gaston was the one who worked on it until everyone kept giving him insults.

Nolan was forced to accept all that. He did everything to keep working there. But he was treated worse until he was finally thrown away. 

The woman raised one eyebrow when she saw Nolan, who was silent. "Aren't you going to talk? Those people have even betrayed you."

Nolan exhaled his breath. He nodded his head. "Yes, I did everything." His gaze was very serious. 

This time, Jessy smiled, her sunken cheeks adding to the woman's beauty. Even as Nolan looked at her, he couldn't help but notice that she looked very attractive. Her lips were small and slightly thick, making Nolan almost unable to blink his eyes. Even when Jessy shook her shoulder-length hair with an extraordinary appearance. 

This time, Jessy nodded her head. "You should admit that. You can't continue to stay in that man's shadow."

Nolan understood. He nodded his head. But this time, his face still seemed flat. "Thank you for saving me, miss."

Nolan stopped his speech. Forcing himself to smile. "It seems I have to go."

Nolan was just about to grab the car door handle. But Jessy's hand stopped him. 

Nolan briefly glanced at the smooth hand that prevented him from leaving before finally returning his gaze to Jessy. 

Before Nolan could say anything, Jessy looked at him intensely. "Are you going to keep quiet? You're not going to take revenge on him?"

Nolan's heart suddenly skipped a beat after hearing the words he had just heard from Jessy. Even anger rushed through him, along with his boiling blood. 

Jessy smiled back meaningfully. She lowers her hands and folds them in front of her chest. "I know, you really need money for your father, don't you?" This time, her words were full of emphasis.  

Nolan's eyes were full of impatience. Jessy's words set a fire in his chest. Of course, he wanted to avenge that, but he didn't quite know what Jessy's true intentions were. He knew that she must have her own intentions. 

Nolan looked at her seriously. "What do you mean?"

Jessy moved her lips to chuckle. "I'm going to offer you a partnership. Seeing as how you have a very smart brain. And, of course, you'll get paid for it." 

 

Nolan furrowed his brow. All this time, he had been betrayed too many times. In fact, he had just gotten that betrayal before Jessy came along. But right now, Jessy was offering something to him. Of course, Nolan was being very wary. This time, he wanted to avoid being taken advantage of again. 

Nolan looked very stern. "Straight away, miss, tell me what you really want." Nolan pressed the question. He knew that she must want something pretty big from him. Remember, she mentioned revenge. 

Jessy shifted her seat slightly. Putting her hand next to Nolan's. She actually really liked Nolan's principles. He was not only a smart man, but Jessy knew Nolan's presence this time would be useful to her. 

Of course, she needed Nolan. And Jessy knew that Nolan was the right guy. 

Jessy swallowed before she finally spoke, "I want you to be my fiancé."

Nolan was silent. He was quite surprised by Jessy's statement, raising one eyebrow and thinking that Jessy's remark was quite funny. 

Nolan even examined Jessy carefully; he really knew if she was a woman in a much higher position than him. 

Nolan even knew that Jessy didn't like him, so why did she want him as her fiancé?

Jessy let out her breath. "This is only temporary. This is a contractual relationship." The woman looked quite upset. She rested her chin on one hand. She moved her dull eyes. "I don't want to be bothered by anyone at all. But they told me to get engaged and married. You know, having a relationship is so boring." She ended her sentence with another long sigh. 

Nolan still needed help understanding. "But why me? You could use another man who has a higher position." Nolan emphasized that. Making an offer to her was not something that made sense. 

Jessy raised her head, frowning slightly and looking stern. "Are you not accepting my offer?"

"I've told you before, you have a smart brain, and getting engaged to you is not a bad move," Jessy assured Nolan. 

She knew that the man in front of her was just a regular guy. But Jessy realized that Nolan's intelligence was not shared by just any man. 

Nolan was still staring at Jessy without immediately giving an answer. This annoyed Jessy a little. She again put both hands in front of her chest, looking at Nolan seriously. "So, are you not going to accept this offer?" Jessy emphasized her question.

Nolan's eyeballs moved quickly as he thought. He knew that this was a good offer. And being Jessy's fiancé wasn't such a bad thing. Then, he nodded his head. "Okay, I accept."

Jessy smiled at Nolan's answer. "Good. You have good judgment."

"I'll give you a down payment of 1 million dollars for our cooperation contract." The woman immediately reached into her bag, took out a cell phone, and seemed to be busy scrolling through the phone screen. 

In a split second, she showed the screen to Nolan. "I've already sent it to your account."

Nolan was quite surprised by that. It was obvious that a million dollars had been successfully sent to his account. "How did you know that?"

Jessy smiled a little, put her phone back, and looked at Nolan. "Of course, finding information about you that's an easy thing."

"Well, go to your father's place. And wait for me tomorrow morning at the hotel."
