Elias looked down at the boy, and then he turned to look at Tonia.

The moment he saw that Tony was telling the truth, he let go of the Doctor at once and hurried to the bed.

“Tonia? Can you hear me?” He called out to the girl, watching as she groaned, her eyes flickering.

She looked at Elias, and then at the Doctor.

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FOUR Eventually, Elias decided to make himself comfortable on one of the seats. He took a deep breath, waiting to see what was about to happen. Jacob moved closer to his sister, and to pacify her, he whispered some words into her ear, nodding to affirm them with a smile on his face. At that moment, silence had taken over, but he walked up to Elias with slow steps. “Just relax, Elias. My brother will send for you once he is done with what he is doing inside. Becky said he is signing some very important documents.”Elias nodded, still struggling to believe all the words that the man said to him. “Thank you.” He said with a forced smile, taking a deep breath. Just then, Jacob turned to his sister, gesturing to her to move toward the door by the left.Elias lifted his head, forced to break his silence.“Where are you going?” He asked Jacob, who instantly turned to him. “We are going in to see our brother, the Mayor, Elias,” Jacob said casually, but he

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTY-THREE Everyone turned to Elias, their eyes sparking with disdain. Becky snorted, turning to Elias, who was already staring at her, still struggling to remain calm. “Why would you ask these people to go in to see the Mayor? I have been waiting here for over an hour.” “And so?” Becky snapped at him, rolling her eyes in disdain. She turned to the man who had his eyes on Elias for a while before switching to her. “Who the hell is this man, Becky?” He could no longer hide the thoughts going on inside his mind, staring with curiosity.“I don’t know who he is, Mr. Creed,” Becky said with a frown, turning to face Elias again.“He has been here trying to see the Mayor. I told him that he was not welcome here, but he has insisted on staying here.” “Oh.” Mr. Creed turned to Elias, looking down at him. “So he is a stranger.” He stared with an arched brow, inching closer to Elias. “Hello…” He extended his hand toward Elias, putting on a smile that seemed too go

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO “You are not welcome in this City.” The female voice remarked, laced with so much resentment. Since Elias didn’t know who was speaking, he decided not to say a word, seated comfortably while he kept his eyes on the door.He had expected to see someone walk out, especially the owner of the voice, but more than thirty seconds were passed, yet he couldn’t even hear a footstep. He took a deep breath, and then he leaned forward, feeling the urge to get up.But the moment he was reminded of the reason why he was there, he decided to be patient, but he still couldn’t take his eyes off the door. It was wide open, but the only thing he could see was a wall and the portrait hanging on it, since it only led to a hallway that was a path to an inner chamber. The Godfather was beginning to stomp his leg repeatedly on the marble floor, feeling his impatience drip almost like sweat.“What the hell is going on?” He grunted, and his eyes were forced to move to the c

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTYLance took a deep breath, and after observing Elias for a few seconds, he nodded in satisfaction.“That must be the poison kicking in.” He sniggered, watching as Elias struggled with his breath, his eyes crawling into his head. Are you okay?” She turned to Lance, her eyes scouring all over his body. She thought of going closer to her father, but with Elias on the way, that certainly didn’t feel like a good idea. “I am fine, Baby.” Lance finally responded, but his shaky voice was saying something else. “I was just having a word with Elias here.” He turned to the Godfather, staring at him with a wry smile.“He is quite a charming young man, isn’t he?” He turned to his daughter, but she didn’t seem like she was concerned about any other thing except his safety, tears flowing from her eyes.“Don’t cry, Fiona,” Lance said silently, replacing his wry smile with a gloom. “I have always known that this day was going to come.” Lance returned his gaze to Elias, and then he took a deep br
