On the task board, John found that no quests were being displayed.

Seeing this John went to Kelly and asked," Kelly why can't I view the task on the task board?".

Kelly immediately smiled and said," I forgot to mention to you that the task board is used to post ordinary quests. If you want to pick up the quest then inject the mana into the iron token. All the quests that you can accept can be shown there".

John immediately said," Thank you".

Then he took out the iron token and began to inject mana. As soon as he did he found a virtual window pop up and there were contribution points and a quest option.

Seeing this he pressed directly on quest as his contribution points were zero.

A bunch of quests popped up.

Then he began to check the quests one by one.

Kelly from the side coughed and John looked at her to only see her point to the chair and she said," You can sit and watch the quest you want to pick. Also, remember to pick an easy quest as most people get excited and pick the quest that gets them killed. Some even forget the path and end up in a dangerous area".

John replied with a serious expression," Kelly thank you".

Kelly nodded her head and began to deal with the paperwork while John walked to the wooden chair and sat on it.

Then he began to view the quest one by one.

TASK 1- COLLECT THE RED FLOWER USED AS THE MAIN INGREDIENT FOR MAKING HEALING POTION.

REWARD- 10 BRONZE COINS FOR EACH FLOWER SUBMITTED.

TASK 2- CLEAR THE TUNNEL INFESTED BY RATS

REWARD- 10 SILVER COINS, A CLEANING SCROLL

TASK 3- JOIN THE PATROL TEAM

REWARD- 10 COPPER COINS PER DAY

TASK 4- HELP THE CHEF BRING THE MEAT OF ONE-HORNED PIG

REWARD- 20 SILVER COINS

TASK 5- COLLECT HONEY FROM DOUBLE STING BEES

REWARD- 50 SILVER COINS

John looked at the quest and finally, after thinking for a while he decided to pick up the quest for cleaning the tunnels.

As soon as he picked up the quest the location was directly displayed.

He walked to Kelly and asked," Kelly is there anything I need to bring with me while doing the task".

Kelly replied with a smile," You must wear proper equipment. You must also bring rations according to your estimate to complete the task. Finally, you must remember to be vigilant from the other adventurers if you are heading out of the city. As outside the city, no one will be there to protect you".

John seriously nodded his head and said," Okay then I am leaving".

But Kelly suddenly asked," John which quest did you pick?".

John immediately replied," It's to clear the rats in the tunnel".

Kelly's expression became serious and she said," Give up the task. Those rats are way more powerful than you can handle right now. You might not know but this task had already been there for two years. But no one had completed this task till now".

John smiled and replied," But I am different from them Kelly".

Kelly saw the determined expression on John's face and she sighed and said," Remember to bring a cleaning scroll with you. Or else you might not be able to get rid of the stench through normal washing".

John's smile stagnated and he said," Okay".

Then he left the place and soon reached the shop named GLITTER SCROLL SHOP.

John walked inside and found a middle-aged man lying on the chair with a listless expression. Seeing him the middle-aged man showed the most beautiful smile he could produce and asked," Sir what do you want to buy?".

John immediately replied," Do you have any recommendations for newbies?."

The middle-aged man replied," Of course, as a newbie adventurer you must keep the must-have scroll the agility scroll which doubles the speed for 30 seconds. This scroll can be used in various circumstances".

John asked," What is the cost of the scroll?".

The middle man smiled and said," Just one gold coin. But seeing that you are a newbie adventurer I will reluctantly sell you for 99 silver coins".

John immediately turned around and was going to leave the shop but he found that his leg had been caught by the middle-aged man and he said," Sir I was joking. The cost price is only 50 silver coins".

John said," Come on do you think I am a rich person? Go and find another person who can afford your price".

The middle-aged man immediately got up from the ground and cursed," You bastard why didn't you tell me before".

Then he returned to the city and bought flowers for ten copper coins. After that, he broke off the petals and then took out a small cloth and put them inside. After that, he took another piece of cloth and then tied it on his face with the small cloth inside.

He could feel a refreshing smell coming out from the morning lily. He just hoped that it would be enough to clear the tunnel.

He also bought one vat filled with drinking water (10 liters) and 10 lunchboxes for 50 copper coins. After that, he was ready to explore the tunnel.
