CHAPTER 78

A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts, and he hurriedly made his way to answer it. As he swung the door open, Mr. Taylor entered, his briefcase in hand.

"Mr Carter! I knew you will…" Gary's eyes were filled with a mixture of hope and apprehension as he gestured for the lawyer to take a seat.

"Just have a seat, Mr Taylor." Gary said, turning around arrogantly. After which he also had a seat.

Sensing the tension in the room, Gary straightened his posture and mustered up the courage to ask the question burning within him.

"So what other condition do you have attached to the will?" Gary's voice quivered slightly, betraying his anxiety.

Mr. Taylor paused for a moment, meeting Gary's gaze before responding, "Mr Carter, there's nothing more in the will aside from the requirement to get married."

"It's the marriage or nothing else."
