7 Blakk Guild HQ
last update2025-09-01 20:15:10

"Who the hell builds a guild HQ in the middle of nowhere?" Alex gritted his teeth as he waded through the thick Vegetation of the village forest where everyone told him that the Blakk Guild had built their HQ. "This is mental..."

It was nighttime, and Alex was barely managing to move through the bushes without tripping or running into something that would end his life.

If he had known that the guild building was so far away, then he would've slept in the village before embarking on the journey the next day, but he hadn't known so here he was, stumbling through the darkness in search of a building that he did not even know what it looked like.

Now that he had awakened, Alex had no reason to ever return to the orphanage, not even to sleep for one second. He never wanted to see that building or the people inside it ever again.

He remembered seeing Flash after the Awakening. His abilities were not active so his hair was its natural colour, but from the haughty smile on his face and the representatives scrambling after him, he assumed that the bully must've awakened a popular and powerful ability.

'Well, good for him. I'm just glad that I'll never get to see him ever again.' Alex thought as he pushed the thought of Flash out of his mind.

However, in the very almost nonexistent chance that Alex might forgive the people at the orphanage for how they treated him, there were two people he would never forgive, and when the time was right, he would make sure that they got their reckoning.

Thinking about the orphanage filled Alex with so much rage that he began to move carelessly and before he knew it, his foot got entangled in a vine, he tried to shake it off but it didn't budge. He was already angry and impatient, so he pulled his leg away in annoyance.

As an awakened, the force his body could exert was different from that of a normal human body and he seemed not to be aware of it because as soon as he pulled his leg away, it came off quite easily but with a flash of grey.

On looking up, he saw that his rash action had accidentally triggered his ability, and he had reduced a good deal of the forest to Ash. In fact, he had destroyed so many trees and vegetation that he could clearly see the Blakk Guild building in the background.

He wasn't exactly sure whether that was the building, but since he was told that it was the only building in this forest, he made a beeline towards it.

He felt a bit bad for destroying most of the trees in this forest, but the damage had already been done. He wasn't sure he could reverse it. All he could do was inform the guild captain about his accident. Hopefully, the man would be able to do something about it.

On getting to the building, he noticed that it didn't look like a guild headquarters — in fact, it didn't even look like something that human beings could live in. It looked like an abandoned building, and Alex would've abandoned it if it wasn't for the logo of a black Raven on the top of the building with the words "Blakk Guild" written under it.

Alex couldn't help but make a mental comparison with this building and the other guild headquarters he had passed in the village.

"Boy, I have the shittiest luck, don't I?" He smiled pitifully,

He walked up to the door and opened it. It was then that he got the shock of his life.

The inside of the building was 360° different from what he had seen on the outside.

"What in the name of Spatial magic is going on here?" Alex muttered to himself in awe.

The interior of the building was large and very clean. He had entered a room that seemed like it was a parlour.

He was about to wonder why the interior of the building was decorated in a residential fashion when he noticed Ken sitting on one of the chairs.

"Welcome, how was the journey?..." Ken asked without turning to face Alex.

Alex noticed that he was intently watching some fish in a pond.

'How was the journey?' Alex repeated in his head. 'This man is talking as if he knew all along that I would come back... but when you think about it, I never really had a choice. He's the only one willing to take a Grey magic ability user.'

"How did you expect it to be?" Alex replied in frustration, "Why did you build your guild in the middle of the woods? I almost couldn't find this place!"

"Why else?" Ken asked rhetorically, "security reasons."

"Security reasons..." Alex repeated, almost chuckling in derision. "Apart from the false illusion, nothing stopped me. I literally waltzed in here."

"You have a lot to learn, young one," Ken chuckled, "did you think you would've found this place if I didn't want you to find it? The forest itself belongs to us. Think about other resources we have at our disposal. Not to brag, but we are the most secure guild headquarters building in this kingdom."

This revelation sent chills down Alex's spine. He could easily have spent the whole night going around in circles looking for a building that even the Vegetation around would not allow him to find.

'Wow... scary,' he thought.

Alex paused for a while, then looked around, "That reminds me, where is everyone? Like the staff and all that?"

"Staff," Ken chuckled, "our guild is very different from other guilds. We don't have staff like the other guild. Our ability users are the staff and we don't even have that many ability users, which is why our guild building is built like a residential building because it is in fact where all of us live and conduct our day-to-day activities. We are more like a family than a guild."

Alex was pleasantly surprised by this information. He was not too sure about the "No staff" part but if everyone here treated each other like family then this would really be a nice place to be. After all, as an orphan, he had a cold upbringing where everyone treated him like trash. Having a guild family would be a nice change of pace.

Suddenly, the front door slammed open, and Alex and Ken spun their heads towards it.

They met Amelia and the other guild member, Trent, patrolling the forests. There was instant tension in the air when Amelia caught sight of Alex."What's he doing here?" Amelia asked Ken, "Does he want to destroy the forest again?""Please calm down Amelia," Ken said, "he's just a newly awakened, he doesn't have control of his powers. I mean, you of all people should know how that feels."Ken's last statement made Amelia shut up, even though she still looked unhappy about the previous day's drama."The forest's efficiency is not yet up to 100%. It will take a few more days before that happens. Till then, we have to be on high alert so I'm going to continue patrolling." Amelia said hurriedly and walked off,"Why's she so worked up about the whole thing?" Alex asked, "The forest is okay now. She doesn't have to antagonise me anymore.""Well, Amelia's affinity is Green. She has a very deep love for nature and in additio

"Huh?" Alex retorted and spun around to see a scrawny young guy smiling suspiciously at him."I meant the view. It's hard, right?" The guy asked again and nudged his chin in the direction of the view before them where the beautiful forest and the beautiful lady all stood.Alex narrowed his eyes in suspicion. "I'm not sure I know what you're talking about...""Ahhh, you're so funny," the guy said and hooked his arm around Alex's neck like an old-time friend. "I'm Rex. What's your name?""Alex.""Alex, I have a feeling we'll get along quite well, so what's your affinity?"Before Alex could reply, Ken interrupted them. "Rex, leave the kid alone. He's still a minor, I don't want you feeding his mind with your nonsense.""Aww..." Rex laughed and ran off, "See you later, Alex."Alex and Ken watched Rex run off in silence. "I like him." Alex chipped."Meh, he's okay." Ken shrugged then turned to Alex, "How do you feel this morning?""I feel great, honestly." Alex shrugged in response, "Th

However, she was angry and looked like she was ready to murder someone."Master Ken!!" She yelled angrily, "Someone burnt down the entire forest outside!! Who did that? I will kill that person!!"Alex froze at the words that came out of her mouth. He hoped that Ken wouldn't say anything to implicate him, he didn't want any smoke with this girl. Obviously, she was an ability user. She could kill him in a breath.Master Ken smiled broadly and asked, "Amelia! Have you met the latest addition to our guild?... What's your name kiddo?""Alex" "Right. Amelia, this is Alex, he's the newest member of our guild. Please treat him well."Amelia ignored the last comment and went straight to Alex. Even as a malnourished 15-year-old, Alex was still a bit tall for his age so when Amelia stood before him, she had to arch h

"Pests!" The king lifted the demon commander's head for the demon foot soldiers to see. "Here is your leader!"After the commander had been killed, the dome began to fade away and the light from the sun that had been previously obstructed by the dome shone on the king and his yellow aura making him resemble an angel of light on a rescue mission.Demons were not very emotional creatures, but the sight of their "strong" commander's head sent a ripple of fear through them. However, before they could react, the king tossed the head at them. The head was still sailing through the air when the king murdered every demon foot soldier standing in the town square with blinding speed.Suddenly, everyone burst into applause and cheers. Even the chief guard sighed deeply in relief. Alex was stunned. Even though he lived in a world of magic, it was quite difficult to witness such battles in action because the guilds and the Magic Association in conjunction with the Royal Body of Magi (ROBOM) made

The rest jumped to assist the Royal guards in protecting the king. The sudden fear and panic that came with the sudden attack had caused many of the children to subconsciously retract their abilities — including Alex. In fact, they did not even feel like people who had just recently awakened, they felt weak and helpless. A few moments ago, a large blood-red dome had appeared in the sky. The presence of that dome prevented anyone from teleporting in or out of the town square."A magic barrier dome? Shit, they mean business." Alex overheard one of the paladins mutter to himself in panic.People had been running helter-skelter since the explosions and now with the appearance of the dome, there was nowhere to run to. There was no way to even tell where the enemy was coming from because no hostile figure had
